Hmm, well my game is 320x240, and my GUI is 161x200 with no transparency on top or bottom. With just CentreGUI used, it centres it horizontally but it sits exactly at the top of the screen. I'm using AGS 2.61 so perhaps it doesn't work in this version, but you wouldn't think so.

I haven't used any other SetGUIPosition functions or anything anywhere in the game...

*Kinoko downs it Cookie Monster style!

Yum, yum!

I have a bunch of GUIs that I want to sit roughly in the middle of the screen. I know I could manually enter the x and y position to centre them, but I used CentreGUI for ease of use, and I've now realised that it only centres the GUIs x position. Fair enough, I tried manually changing the Y position in the editor - no effect. Is this a bug or is it supposed to work like this? I can get around this by specifying the positions manually, but I was just curious. It doesn't say anything in the manual about only centring horizontally.

Quantam Leap was a LEGENDARY show among my generation, at least. I loved it so much, I just pined for it when it wasn't on tv. Now that I think back to it, I probably wouldn't think much of it if I were watching it for the first time these days, but... it'll always have a special place in my heart -_- Particularly that "Trilogy" of episodes where he meets his daughter etc. Ahhh.

*ahem* Yeah, sorry, off-topic.

Rich, I just wanted to say that your avatar freaks me out.

It's basically like a more advanced version of Ocarina. I won't judge it much yet, but I had the same reaction of, "Oh... it looks like THAT." I think it'll sell no matter what it looks like - it's a Zelda game. I'm not confident at this stage it'll be a great game. Right now, I'm -much- more excited about the Minish Cap ^_^

Wow, this looks great. I don't really see too many successful team projects but this looks like a winner. Also, that cow has the pinkest udder I've ever seen ^_^

That's OLD news, Rap ^_-

Aww, that's actually a really sweet story, Darth ^_^ Glad it worked out in the end.

I assume you mean something like the automatic doors of a shop? If so, you have the right idea, as far as I can see.

While I think "online dating" is generally a bad idea (especially if taken too seriously), I met my partner of... going on 7 years on the internet. I became a part of a good community that were all real life friends and became good friends with this guy for a long time. We talked on the phone a lot and just got to know each other really well over a long period of time before we got real feelings for each other. I went across the country to meet him for a few weeks, and the next year, I moved to QLD and have been living with him since and will most likely marry him once we can comfortably afford it ^_^

I very strongly disagree with people being frivolous with online relationships and assuming it's love just because you want it to be, and not being careful about -really- knowing the person you're talking with. I think as long as you don't TRY to make it happen, take your time, really, truly get to know each other and don't try to be too mushy about it. When I say "take your time", I don't mean "take too long" either because it's not much of a relationship if you don't eventually meet up and do it properly.

So, I guess... I can't say I don't agree with them given my own situation, but it should only be the very start of a proper relationship and it does need a LOT more caution than a normal relationship... starter.

I'm not sure what the demo does, but you can click the "Hide Player Character" checkbox in any room's 'Settings' panel to make sure the player won't appear.

Wow, it looks gorgeous @_@ I can't wait for this one! What's with all these great artists popping up recently?

Thanks a lot Ashen (and Ginny, seeing as you came up with the same basic code ^_^), that code works fine.

monkey: It's okay, take a breath. I didn't specify what I was trying to do because I didn't think it was necessary when I made this thread (and it wasn't). I thought there's be some quick answer (which there wasn't but it turned out fine). Sure, you can use keycode instead of IsKeyPressed, but I don't know of any difference it makes. If you can tell me, please do. I'll make any necessary changes.

I would, but it's 2am and I have uni tomorrow. I'll try to think about this some more but I don't know how successful I'll be.
#2036
This is in on_key_press... dude.

Helter skelters... do they still exist anywhere?

Anyway, it's a really nice start on a background. The sky, lighthouse... it all looks really nice and everything's got a nice neat look to it. It's really difficult to make a convincing dirt road. I've never managed it outside of cartooney style so I can't offer much help.

I've never really watched the show, but I hate it. It's like Picket Fences (which I didn't mind but... I'm making a point) crossed with Gilmore Girls... with some cop stuff thrown in. It's just -too- wacky, and his girly partner who's this fiery-red, wacky, boyish, girlish, side-kick, mother-type. The whole thing is just too set up to constantly be a reminder of his "problem". I'm reminded of Night Boat...

"Oh no, they're on land. We'll never catch them now."

"Incorrect. Look - a canal".

Plus, I just hate women like that partner chick. So sassy. Oh, the sassiness! Sassiness coming out of her wacky, large mouthed face.

*ahem*

Speaking of Monk, has anyone noticed the trend of actors from Men in Black to get their own cop show?

Ahh, I've fixed the code in the "miss" section, thanks for that. I'll keep that workaround in mind, too.

I really don't understand what's happening with the double(or more) ups either... I'm having a similar problem (thread currently in the Beginners Help) with trying to stop an action happening more than once with each key press. It seems to work, but if I keep a key held down, the action will continue to run continuously despite being told in the script not to run again until the first action is completed. I was hoping that if anyone, you'd have an idea of what was happening here ^_^;;; I don't understand it, but it just seems as though when the code is called, certain blocks don't happen quick enough before the code is called again. I really don't know...

EDIT: Well, that problem has been fixed and it seems to have fixed the problem of the double-ups too. I'm not sure why, but things are working well now. Crazy. Thanks for all your help, anyway.

Oh, I did that ^_^ I knew what you were saying, but the code just doesn't work. It's almost like it doesn't have time to work when the button is held down... I don't know. I don't really understand the inner workings of the engine.
