I did say "much to do". By which I mean not as participants, but as watchers. Australia doens't care much for the Winter Olympics. It was only til I moved out of the country I realised lots of other people do :P

Mind yu, I'm watching it now. It's pretty awesome! I even saw an Aussie girl do okay in the skiing.

General Discussion / Re: Release Something!

Sorry for bumping this.

Just a reminder! 3 days to go! I sure hope people are working on things to release :/ Otherwise it'll be just me! I'm giving up my whole weekend to try and get my demo ready (as if I'd wanna do anything else right now but sit inside at the laptop all day listening to music).

Very true. If I had been writing that scene, I would have given Vader the nail-biting, hot, steamy "romance" that would have been the driving force for all the evil he does later. (Wouldn't have cast a pussy to play him, either)

I don't know who locked this but it is now unlocked. I think if a mod is going to lock something a reason should be given unless it's pretty obvious why it was locked. This, not so much...

So anyway

Not to point the finger, but I'm pretty sure it was Andail, and I think it was probably because the thread is a bit spent, and went off-topic a zillion years ago.

Meh, those two were amateurs ^_^

I think the first idea was spot on. You do't need to come up with some particular situation where the feelings all come to a head.

I'll let you know about this show I'm hooked to pieces on right now. It's called Touch and I'll murder people just to get home every day by 5:30 to watch it. The setting is a high school, and a couple of characters connected with the local baseball club. The story, however, is all centred on two characters. Childhood friends who both love each other, to be blunt.

I must have seen like 100 episodes so far and they haven't so much have had a proper kiss yet (there was one right at the start of the series but that was never followed through). They've never said, "I love you", but the tension is unbelievable. Every day I wath just hoping to see a scene where they touch each others' hands accidentally. It's that good.

They're gentle with each other, but still of course comfortable because they're good friends. For the most part, they don't talk about the mutual attraction but occasionally one will say something almostly bluntly subtle about it... it's a strange phrase to use, but that's the way it is. Something like, when there was another guy who liked said girl, she told original guy something to the effect of, "Please try hard. I want you to win", basically saying she wanted him to beat the other guy in the battle for her heart, but it was forgivable because they were both sporting rivals too.

In one scene, they were sitting in a room together and she leaped at him and threw her arms at him, a few seconds later, an earthquake started (the reason she did so, she was scared to death of them), but after it stopped, they both just stayed there. The phone rang eventually, but the tension was amazing.

The best thing recently was when they were alone together, and the girl burnt her hand. The guy rushed over to get a look at it, and then they just stood there for awhile with him holding her hand, both terribly aware of the situation they were in. He started to pull her towards him and... well, something interrupted.

My point is, you can use little tension builders like this, coupled with having the characters act in a way that shows that they both know very well the way each other feels, but are hesitant to openly say so or act accordingly. But it's obvious.

Sure! Whatever. Like I said, I don't know the comps at all...

I did

I just pictured you, a 10-foot tall giant of a man with his arms crossed over his huge, bulging chest, stepping through a confused crowd... when you said that.

I know most of these things go down in flames, and since I never participate in the competition forum, I'm probably the least qualified out of anyone to propose an idea. Plus, there's a good chance this has been done already, but...!

I just read this: http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=3574

It made me think that it'd be interesting to do a version inspired by adventure games. The good thing about this is that there are more possibilities, because it won't be limited to a single game. I think enough people here a good enough sense of humour that this would really work ^_^

There are only a few days until Valentine's Day but we could have the comp extend beyond that.

Anyone interested? Anyone interested in taking the comp up, actually? I'm not familiar enough with the forum to actually run this.

Huh? Man, the Olympics don't start for another 2 years, and they're in Beijing!

^_^ Sorry. Yeah, um, go all those wintery countries!! (Australia doesn't have much to do with these ones)

I only have two stations going, "Queen station"; my Rock + miscellaneous station... pretty much has most things I like, but is mostly overpowered by rock music... and "TLC station" which is all R&B, all the time.

If anyone wants one, let me know your email address ^_-

EDIT: I'm doing an experiment with a Weird Al station, to see if the songs he parodies pop up :)

It sounds like a video card problem, but... that's all I can say, sorry.

It missed my first one (No Scrubs, by TLC), despite having the song in it's database, but it got my second one (This Love, by Maroon 5), despite me thinking I'd tapped it wrong.

Remember: She's got a touch of exotic beauty about her ^_^ I'd even take a look at some of her close-up shots from the first game.

LOVE the circus guys, but I think that Sheriff is one of your best yet.

If it makes you feel any better LJUBI: Helm, esper, Kinoko, buloght and Gord10 were also all nominated for worst n00b. Now, we'll see if they go off in a huff too  ;)

!!! *HUFF*

Screw you all!
#596
Oh, geez. Is that what this was all about?

LJUBI, one of the things that makes people think of you as "worst noob" (possibly) is that you keep drawing attention to yourselves like this. Just make games and chill out.  8)

Pff. Lier.

Uh, nope, but that's cool too. Man, you're... did you miss him or what? :) The reaper, dude!
#599
Yep, "film noir" won't turn up anything. Film Noir music IS jazz/blues! Go out and buy yourself a Benny Goodman CD :) I guarantee enjoyment.

GeoffKahn - the only man here to get the point of my thread -_-

Though I thought the one a little after Purple Tentacle was equally as great, if not better.
