Not too bad but there are a few things you need to fix.

Her arms are a little stiff, but the right arm in particularly looks like it's constantly hitting a wall. The left arm is much better and seems to be softly going back and forth, so you need that kind of look.

I think her bum needs to move - a TINY bit. Remember that the bum is just the tops of the legs.

You should try moving her feet, too. By which I mean, making the angle of her feet shift up and down. The best thing, I think, would be to make them fall down at the front as she takes a step.

I think it'd be nice to see her hair move a tiny bit too.

If you want to make it look super, you're gonna have to have her torso move a little too, to reflect where her legs and arms are.

All that said, I think it looks surprisingly good for Flash. :)

I pretty much agree with everything mods said there.

QuoteWe are both big AGS fans BTW. But seriously.

Am I the only one who finds that funny? :) Just add a "folks" to the end.

Good luck and all, but I agree with what people have said. When I got to the point in your OP where you mentioned you hadn't begun development yet I was a bit shocked at the announcement.

As we've seen here, time and time again, it doesn't matter HOW much you try to convince people, the majority of people need to see something substantial or they'll lose interest quickly, or won't have any in the first place. I also think that this was well premature.

I guess I don't really get it either. If you're big AGS fans, why the huge desire to make a new engine? If you think AGS doesn't do everything you think it should, then don't you already have an idea of what you want your own engine to do? If I were you, I'd just lurk for a bit on all the adventure game engine forums and keep a constant check on what features people are requesting.

Then, create your engine as best you can and THEN give it a big release, big announcements and fan fare.

I just say this because I feel that people are probably thinking the same way I do here, which is to say, if I have any suggestions or features I'd like, I'll ask CJ for them.

In short, you heard insults from other pirates, learning comebacks.

You then used those same comebacks on the Sword Masters' different insults (you had to figure out which comeback would still work which her insults).

I did this a couple of years ago so I just got all of them :D

But in all seriousness, when I did it back then, I got almost all of them in a couple of hours. I cn distinctly remember the ones I didn't get, and two I had good excuses for not getting because it wasn't any sort of knowledge I had in my brain to begin with.

This is from v2.71 but I didn't notice it in the changes for the new beta so...

Tiny thing, but I noticed that if I'm calling a function that includes a string, and I put a , in that string, calltips will skip the next parameter as I continue typing the function.

Those final two look AMAZING! Don't listen to anyone else, just me ^_^ In the words of a young Flanders boy, "Go with it!".

I usually don't like a large GUI either but it suits some games. Reminds me a bit of one of my favourite adventures, I think the name was "Legend of the Sword". I actually quite like games where the BG seems more like something you're seeing through the 'screen' of the GUI and this has a bit of that feel.

Once again, those two GUIs just look incredible o_o

I voted for Mind's Eye, and now that's it's been associated with David Bowie, I'd vote for it a hundred times over :)

I can't remember if I've ever posted here, but I have some new photos!

This is me being a total tourist at some shrine or other:

This is my and my fiance in an awkward stance in front of Mt. Fuji (it was -freezing-):

...and because I'm SO excited that I figured out how to get photos off my mobile, here's my cat, Sophie:

Me with the greatest manga ever:

A photo of the Ghibli Museum (in case anyone cares):

Was the joke:

Putfile Unavailable In Your Region

Due to persistent abuse we regret we are not providing service to your region at this time.

? Because that's what I get. Certainly seems ironic, but not funny as such.

But he wasn't interested in finding out who was in the community, he wants to interview people! I don't understand what sending him to a website, no matter how awesome said website may be, will do for him when he wants to ask individuals complex (well, you know) questions about the way they personally feel about things.

Sure, I wanna be famous :D
#696
Geez, you guys aren't being very helpful @_@

Okay, I'm female and I've been here going on 2 years... not that long, but long enough, I think. If you want to send me interview questions, PM me and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

Done! ^_^ Feel free to lock away.

This will be the 3rd "Release Something!". Thanks for making the previous two such successes, everyone!

ABOUT RELEASE SOMETHING:
This isn't a competition as such, just a big free-for-all where we can all showcase our talents. Basically, a date is set for "Release Something!" Day and on that day, people are invited to post to this thread anything they like, really. For example, some sprites,Ã,  screenshots of your game, music, sound effects, backgrounds, rooms, a plugin, a storyboard, a demo, or if you can manage it, a full game. Heck, even if it's 95% done or 1% done, if you wanna release it, you go for it!

WHEN: (that is, NOW!)
This one will happen on February 14th, Valentine's Day. This is about a month away, which I think is a good amount of time for you to either get started on something, or finalize a current project :) Of course, nothing needs to be FINALIZED for this. You can release something at ANY stage!

Remember, anything you want, as little or as much of it as you want! Get working, people!

Well, I was thinking about this again. Seemed to me the previous one had been a decent while ago. I checked and indeed it had, since the last one was the end of October.

Most people seem happy to have these every 3 or 4 months. I think 3 would be too short notice for people right now, since that would be the end of this month which isn't too far off at all. Instead, I thought perhaps we could set the next Release Something for mid-February. Seeing as the last one was roughly Halloween, how about we make this one around Valentine's Day? (just for the heck of it, these aren't themed so don't worry).

So, Release Something #3 set for February 14th? Think that's a fair amount of time to get your crap together? ^_^ (Of course, given the time differences around the world, and the fact that this isn't about strict rules, but motivation, that means you don't need to panic if you're gonna be out with your honeys all day and night... anytime around the 14th/15th will be fine)

I watched XXX the other night (don't ask why - I live in a foreign country and I'm at times way too desperate to watch something English. Hell, I even watched Casper on TV once) and they were at the start of that.

Um. Yep. That's all I have to say about that. Just thought it was worth a mention.
