Ah... I thought it was dangerous not to 'stop' them before shutting the program.

Guess I'll restart then, wish me luck!

EDIT: Excellent, seems to be okay! I won't know for sure until I finish downloading and see that the files work properly but so far... it's looking good. Thanks!

Nope, first thing I tried, it doesnt appear because it isn't currently maximised... guess I should have mentioned I have tried both of those things.
#943
Since it's a minimised task, it doesnt appear in the "Applications" tab, only "processes"... if I can bring it up from there, I'm afraid I don't know how.

Okay, I'm so sorry to start a topic about this but I have nowhere else to ask. I'm downloading some torrents with ABC (strictly for back-up purposes ^_-) and left the laptop on to continue downloading while I went to lunch for an hour. ABC was minimised into the system tray.

Now, everything is working fine, except  I can't bring ABC back up. It's still working, still downloading, but double clicking on the icon does nothing. I tried opening the program again (in this programs case, that would usually result in the currently open copy just appearing on the screen) and nothing again.

Is there some other way I can maximise this program? I can't right click on the icon either. I really, really don't wanna have to shut the lappy down without stopping the downloads properly.

Ah, 1975. A good year for men indeed. My fiance was born in that year.

Congrats ^_^

I was just about to post almost exactly what DG said. Your graphics should reflect the style of game you want to make and that may be mean stick figures coloured in Paint. I intend on doing a crayon-coloured game someday, which will look purposely simply and crappy.

However, the OP has already made it clear that it isn't not being able to draw which is ihs problem, but that he wants a certain style and can't achieve that himself (without years of learning).

My advice is to either find someone on these forums OR some art-related forums around the place (heck, there are HUNDREDS) and approach them with your request directly, or just advertise like the rest of us. Trust me, it can work. And hey, you've just gotten yourself some publicity right here.

I've heard so many of those supposed acronyms for things like 'fuck' and 'shit'. None of them are true. I could be spouting bullshit here but I have a feeling acronyms weren't even used until much later than all these things were supposed to have come about.

Yep, agreed. I never do things like that with vector, just with a pen. It's GREAT fun once you get started.

a-HA! Thats what I was trying to think of but I couldn't figure it out. The pic would look MUCH better if you varied the line thicknesses.

*ahem* He did say "faux chibi" ^_^

I personally love your Barbarian! I thought it was a girl at first too, but damn if it isn't sexy! Make it a sexy gay barbarian, that's an awesome idea. I'd play that game ANYDAY.

It's a good pic! I cant really find anything specific that leaps out at me to crit.

Overall though, I would say that it just needs a little more oomph. Try to make the pose a tad more dynamic, keeping in mind the silhouette of the character (one of the greatest tips I ever heard was making the silhouette look cool and well defined). Of course, it's not like she's posing, and I'm guessing she's not meant to be "cool", but still.

I'm not sure if this is a problem or not  but Im slightly worried about how "busy" the picture is. I know it's obviously supposed to be that way but I think if you make say, the details on the arm a little tighter and left a few other lines out here and there, it might be an improvement. I'm... really not sure on that point though, just a feeling I get.

I refrain from looking at this post too much because I try to forget about this game until it's really close to being released. God damn it though if this isn't my most anticipated release.

I don't wanna hurry you. Just keep going as you are and make sure you don't drop the pace ^_^

Everything, by the way, is simply GORGEOUS.

Don't worry. If the world grinds to a halt, the karma police will have my arse ^_-

Yeah, whoops, you're right. Silly me :P

I didn't know about the shift-key deal, I'll check that out, thanks!

You've also gotta bob him up and down a bit. Otherwise it'll look incredibly odd when he's actually sliding across the screen.
#956
Oh, true.

Well, if they take it down, I'll just get someone else to stick it back up there ^_^/

I -just- remembered this one and I've been meaning to post it for awhile.

Occasionally I'll want to use the debugging feature that shows the current script processes (can't remember the name right now), but this became obsolete for me ever since I implimented a `clock` feature in my game. Because this timer counts every second in repeately_execute_always, that and a few other scripts keep the text in the debugging feature constantly scrolling and I'm unable to read it.

I'm not sure what the solution would be, but perhaps to enable a feature that allows you decide whether repeatedly_execute_always functions are displayed...

I'm really not sure, but anyway, I thought I'd mention it.
#959
Probably not but lets hope it doesn't get nominated before I finish! Also, how are they gonna know I'm the creator of the game?
#960
Ehehe, yeah *^^* I made it!
