Quote from: lo_res_man on Wed 04/10/2006 20:10:27Sure, from my point of view an inn is a house
How about an old haunted inn? as in a medieval inn?
Quote from: Dan_N_GameZ on Tue 03/10/2006 19:22:28Well it should be more the standard house thing. A flat might be okay as well but your other ideas are rather "unusual" places to live. Of course some people/cultures do so, but better go for what we're used to call a house
Must the hounted house be a "house"? Can't it be a flat, or a tent, or a caravan, or something?
Quote from: nihilyst on Mon 02/10/2006 00:11:37No, the items may appear wherever you want. They can be useful (as inventory items) but do not necessarily have to be - they only need to be in the game.
As I'm planning on entering, I have a question: With "three essential items" do you necessarily mean _inventory_ items?

Is it always ok to use sprites/backgrounds/sounds etc. found on the net
Quote from: Klaus on Sun 01/10/2006 14:47:05
You are not allowed to (re)use material already created before this competition, you game must be completely new! An exception goes for sounds and music where you can also use free material that is available to the public.

I can enter with this right?
Quote from: Mr. Buckéthead on Sun 01/10/2006 15:02:09
ah perfect. Count me in! This rules match very nicely with a game I already started![]()

Quote from: Dan_N_GameZ on Wed 20/09/2006 18:46:10Erenan already told you all about it (thanks). Do you have a place where to store your game then? There's a number of services out there and you can also check this thread.
do you know how long it takes from when you add your game to when it appears on the AGS database?
Quote from: Buckethead on Wed 20/09/2006 19:15:49Hm... Of course you can post it here and it will also be listed on the MAGS site then but as it doesn't fit the guidelines there might be a problem in counting it as a full entry. Last month's winner was a demo too but it had all required elements in it.
Is it Ok (and with ok , i mean does it count as an entry) if I post it here anyway? It has 16 colors but only 1 of the 5 needed inventory items.
Quote from: FSi on Sun 17/09/2006 18:18:49Ah! In that case I see no problems at all... Good luck
I'm not using RON sprites (they won't fit in the rules, right?), I'm just wanted to use Mika, but paint her from scratch
Quote from: FSi on Sat 16/09/2006 18:24:31September 26th is set as deadline. If you post your entry before everything's okay...
Can I still enter?
Quote from: FSi on Sat 16/09/2006 18:24:31Hm... The rules will be set much clearer and more strict in the next guidelines. Now for this one: You might already have read that free stuff (graphics/sound/...) may be use but selfmade would be better. So you can go with the RON sprites.
Could it be RON game or must I create all characters from scratch?
Quote from: JuuL on Sat 09/09/2006 08:00:30For music you can go the same way as for free graphics that are offered on the web. You may use it but selfmade would be better. But especially for music this might be very difficult, so if you find a nice tune for free you may use it.
Can I use some of that for my game or would that be against the rules?
Quote from: JuuL on Sat 09/09/2006 08:00:30Sure, go for these items. As answered to Xellie we don't look too close here, just try to go for the "unusual".
For my 5 inventory items from the list of unused items, I'm considering to use some of these ...
They are all on the list and have not been rejected in any post. Does that mean that they are OK even if some of them might have been used in a game before?
Quote from: Dan_N_GameZ on Sun 10/09/2006 21:22:54Of course all this is allowed. MAGS is not going for any special rights on the entries or something like that. There already exist MAGS games that were followed by a sequel or a deluxe version later. Everything's okay here. Create the game (or the series) just as you like. For entering MAGS you only need to have an eye on the rules
So is it ok mr. klaus if I make the first part as a mags game and make the others regular games separately? I mean is ok to use the title the story of my mags game in future developments?
Quote from: Dan_N_GameZ on Sun 10/09/2006 21:22:54Don't hesitate to post your questions there.
can you post work from a mags game in the lounge to get critisism?
Quote from: Buckethead on Wed 06/09/2006 18:33:38Let's say it like this: It should have an end.
quick question, does your game actually has to be totally done to be an entry?
Quote from: JuuL on Wed 06/09/2006 14:55:24Well, an announced game doesn't mean by default that it also turns into an entry in the end...
I'm glad that there's three of us in the competition.
