Infamous Adventures is working on a remake of Space Quest II (and another project) and we're putting the call out for talented people to help us make it even better (and importantly, faster!)

Here are two offical screenshots.

STORY: Roger Wilco, with his newfound status of Hero, is transferred to the Xenon Orbital Station 4 and promoted to head (and only) janitor. All is quiet until he is abducted by Sludge Vohaul, who was behind the original Sarien attack of the Arcada. As Roger is being transported to the Labion labour mines as punishment for thwarting Sludge's original plan, the prison ship crash-lands in a nearby jungle upon the planet. Our hero manages to escape his pursuers and the dangers of the Labion jungle and soon reaches Sludge's asteroid base. Once again, it's up to Roger alone to stop Vohaul's evil plan: to eradicate sentient life from Xenon by launching millions of cloned insurance salesmen at the planet.

BREAKDOWN
Backgrounds - 95% complete
Animation      - 47% complete
Sprite Design - 90% complete
Scripting/Programming - 80% complete

Note that these figures are rough estimates.  There's no given release date - this is a "when's it's done" type of project.

As noted, it could get done quicker if you're interested in helping out with animation, which is the biggest workload at this point.

Backgrounds and more information is available on the IA website
www.infamous-adventures.com

Animation Artists : People who are talented in creating animations in a 2D environment. Similar to standard cartoon animation, most walk cycles are 8 directions by 8 frames per direction. This is our biggest need area as there is so much to do.

Background Artists :  Disney look seen in movies such as the Lion King and Alladin. This is in particular for a mini-game within the larger project.

Quality Checkers : Positions are available NOW for QA people to work on our remake of SQ2. You job is boring! Yes, thats right, it's boring! You must be willing to work a single room or section trying absolutly everything that is possible. You must be willing to make Roger walk between rooms at every available section making sure he doesn't get stuck or something else happens to him. You MUST be fluent in the English language and be able to check our spelling and grammer.

What sort of person are you?
* Motivated to complete your work in a timely manner
* Full of great ideas and able to communicate them effectivly
* Someone who stands up for what you believe in
* Able to have a laugh at yourself and at others without taking offense
* A fun person who loves adventure games and wants to work to see more

Work with people who love what they do, and who are able and have a proven track record of getting their projects finished! (All one of them so far...  ;D) If you can fill any of these positions, please email Klytos at mills.shawn@gmail.com or PM on the IA forums at www.infamous-adventures.com.

Don't come to the UK, it's rubbish.

That is, unless you enjoy being shouted at by chavs, watching teenage girls pushing their prams down the street and getting stabbed for looking at someone the wrong way.

Oh, and Poole is retirementville, it's the UK's answer to Florida :P

Ah, national pride. It's an amazing thing.  ;D

There's a great little town in the south of England called Poole, it's in Dorchester county. They've got the most amazing lake there with little boats you can hire and go paddling around the lake in. Also an amazing pottery and glass blowing place. Plus, there's a great pub on the lake called "The Friendly Dolphin" or something like that. Awesome barmaids. Awesome beer. Don't know if that is of interest to you or not, but I had a great time there.

Get him some Dukes of Hazzard DVD's. (Series not the movie) If that doesn't cheer him up, nothing will.
#25
Ah, no it's not.  :D :D

By tough love, I meant somebody telling him he's acting like a fool and should grow a pair.

Glad you like it.

What about the obvious thing that he's got a crush on you and it's unreciprocated, making him jealous, angry and depressed?

The thing about being drunk is that you're more honest about feelings and emotions. Maybe it's the lowered inhibitions, maybe it's just that you don't give a fuck about consequences. If he said it while drunk, he thinks it when he's sober.

On another tack, if thats not the case (I seriously think it is from reading your posts, although I'm not there so I don't really know) has anybody just told him to grow the fuck up and get over his ex? I see he's been treated with kid gloves and been kind to, people have been understanding and thoughtful and tried to reason through his pain. Has anyone tried some "tough love"?

Isn't this classed as SPAM? I don't see the diference between this and posting a link to Kings of Chaos.

Is the cricket still going?

*Google* Wow. We lost.

When the footy starts pre-season, Cricket just loses my interest.

I'd be interested to know how many times that game has been downloaded. It'd be an interesting exercise in the human condition.

Damn, I sounded like something out of Star Trek then.

First let me say, YouTube rules.

Secondly, that's a pretty good connection you've drawn there.

You know what? The world isn't as simple as "the American imperialists are out to get you, and its willing citizenry is really just repressed by its government." Frankly, in an age of an unprecedented free exchange and availability of information, I'm shocked that people really believe this. I think all I've tryed to do is point this out without trying to reduce culpability for what we've done or be "apologetic" for the way things have unfolded.

Thank you EagerMind for putting into words something I have felt for a long time. I'm not American, yet I don't for a second buy into the anti-American rhetoric that seems to be the position a lot of people default to now.

A little amusement in my day. I little bit of mouth vomit too.  ;D

Being in Brisbane, I'm sure interested in meeting a few other AGSers.

Mind you, for a group of people I've never met before I don't intend on spending a lot of my time or money going anywhere though. Just being honest in that I think a lot of others will be in the same boat.

How about just organising a south-east Queensland / Northern NSW get together or a Melbourne get together and see how they work out.

Again, really interested, just curious how it's all going to work.

I think that AGD2 has every right to defend his game from abuse if he sees it as undeserved. It seems to be fine that some people here have the god given right to critique a game and a company yet can't handle that same level of critique being leveled at their comments.

To me, this seems to come down to the fact that people don't like AGDI / Himalaya's attitude. I can understand that and probably agree with that view. But I think that Chris (AGD2) has a couple of good points that are being overlooked because of the attitude of his writing.

I think it's about some people being jealous of others achieving something when they themselves haven't been able to do anything that would come close to the standard that games like KQ2+ and Al Emmo achieve.

Is the game good? It's okay. As someone else said it's an adventure game of the past, it's nothing new or revolutionary. But to nominate it for this award is mean spirited.

Duckbutcher, I've gotta say, really well done. You've captured the essence of the early 4th Doctor to such a point I can almost hear Tom Bakers distinctive voice saying your dialog.

Being a HUGE Dr Who fan I'm always sceptical about such things as fan based games, novels, stories etc, because I believe that 9 times out of 10 the fans manage to get it too bogged down in the backstory instead of exploring strange new worlds (to steal a quote from Star Trek). You've avoided that. Well done.

I can't wait to play the full game.

Again, great job.
