Quote from: Knoodn on Thu 02/02/2023 00:10:50When I have revised a series of sprites (without a linked source file) and use the option "Replace sprite from file..." for each sprite, I have to scroll through the files list again and again to open the same file.
I'm not quite sure that I follow this part. When you have revised a series of sprites doesn't that mean you have made changes to a series of files. Why would re-using the same file be useful in this context? Do you mean that you just want the selection to default to the previously used source directory?
I probably expressed myself in a misleading way. The term "tiled" was misunderstood by me.
What I mean is one graphic file with several frames of an animation. I want to replace the already existing sprites in AGS with the frames from this file. Since the project was started with an earlier version of AGS, there is not a source file for all sprites. So I use "Replace sprite from file..." and open the specific file with the several animation frames.
What I don't mean is an extra file for every sprite.

Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, what I want is to replace an already imported sprite by opening the "import sprite" window which shows me the file the last sprite was imported from. I dont't use the tiling.

When I have revised a series of sprites (without a linked source file) and use the option "Replace sprite from file..." for each sprite, I have to scroll through the files list again and again to open the same file.
But I'm fine with that if the option was removed for a good reason.

QuoteJust to check though, are you looking to set the same single source file for multiple sprites?
But that would also be interesting. Is it possible?

Hey Dave and Team Disaster.

It is good to see that the Captain is back!
Everything sounds and looks very promising. I am really looking forward to it.

Keep up the good work.

Hello fellow developers,

hopefully this is the right place for this.

Since version 3.5 of AGS the "replace sprite using last sprite..." option is missing from the sprite import context menu.
Would it be possible to bring this back?
I'm working on a game from an older version of AGS that doesn't have a source file for each sprite. It's quite annoying to have to go to the specific file every time you want to replace a sprite.

It was there up to version 3.4. See picture:

If it is possible, I think it should also be renamed to "Replace sprite using previous file...".

And thanks to everyone who works on AGS. You are doing a great job.

Fixed version 0.2.2 is available.

@Danele82:
Thank you. Nice you like it.
If your TIP is to make a fan game with this graphics and stuff, then I have to say sorry. I think, I will focus on my other project with an original story, but in a similar art style.

@MonsieurOUXX:
Thanks for your kind words.

By all this (at least for me) complex scripting stuff with a lot of twisted coding, the knife bug is such a silly one, that I just overlooked it. (roll) Good find!

I'm not a fan of double click actions, but I see your point there. In the updated version, I've added a faster walking if you've clicked in a distance more than 100 pixel to the player's character. I hope this helps a little to cross the wider screens.

Thanks for your comments Elvis Tanner and Joseph DiPerla.

It's still not a complete remake but a new version is online. Now with the 14th Avenue and Lous' Loans.

Here is the link to the game's page:

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but...

I'm not able to download games from the database. I've tried different games with firefox and safari.
Clicking the "Download" button leads me to the site "Redirecting to download link in three seconds." and then nothing happend.

Try it yourself!

Thanks, Kweepa.
Maybe I can find some time to add the 14th Avenue and the shop - because it's fun to buy and sell stuff - but for remaking the full game my free time is too little at the moment.

A new version is online.

There was a major bug in the previous versions. The "give" command was not working properly. This and some minor bugs are now fixed.

Have fun...

@Danvzare:
I hope you got time to play the game and had fun to investigate.

@selmiak:
Thanks for uploading your video.
For me it's very interesting to watch someone else playing the game. As there was no real playtesting, I've seen some minor glitches - and changed them.

ZAK - repixeled V0.2.2

This is a repixeled version of the game's beginnig of Zak McKracken. It includes the intro and the first couple of rooms in San Francisco in redone retro pixel graphic.
It's made with love and with respect for the beloved point and click classic.

Zak McKracken was the first adventure game I've ever played.
I was facinated by the freedom of possibilities to interact with the environment - even if this leads to a lot of dead ends.

Around four years ago, I ended up with a sprite of Zak in a C64-esque palette. Shortly after, the first room was done also.
I implemented all this into an AGS project and added more and more stuff.
For about one year there was no progress and now I've decided to just release what I've got so far.

You can watch the intro and play the San Francisco part - without the 14th Avenue and the shop, but apart from that with all the interactions from the original game.
If you find something I've missed, please let me know.

This is a freeware fangame. The original game was released by Lucasfilm Games in 1988 and can be purchased on gog.com or steam.

The download of my version can you find here on the AGS games page.

Enjoy as much, as I did during production.

Update November 2020:
Version 0.2.1 is now online.
Unfortunately, once again it's not a complete remake, but now you can play the 14th Avenue including Lou's Loans.
Also there are some bugs fixed and a death scene is added.

(btw cat's pictogram of a 3 1/2'' disc is the technically correct one)

But all in all a lot of good entries.

Is the nomination time over yet?

The headline on top of the forums says:
QuoteAGS Awards nominations close at 11:59 GMT on 13 Feb 2013.

But the nomination page shows me this:
QuoteNominations are now closed for 2012. Please stand by for the announcement of the nominees, and then get voting!

I have to say I'm glad I'm not competing this year :) lots of amazing titles!
Too true! I'm competing and even I would vote for so many other games then mine. ;)

By the way what's about a banner on the top of the forums with the links to the threads - like the last years?

@kati:
Spoiler
Quotenot sure if that is the joke of the game is that he caught the mumba but failed to bring home the meat
You pointed it out... :-D

Quotebut it seemed like there should have been a way to win the game
Yes, there is a way to "win" the game. Just see a post above your's.

If it doesen't help:
Spoiler

Play the game for an other time and do at least four of the points I listed in my last post, then a new dialogue option comes up when UNGA meets KONK again in the end. Select this option and you are able to make NONGA and UNGA happy. ;)

This game -if I'm allowed to say so- is my favourite one of the summerbatch and this podcast is at least just as enjoyable.

Can't wait for the next episode.
