(My computer at work is in french but I can try at home later tonight if you need it in english)

I have these plugins/dlls manually added to this vesion of AGS:

If I am currently using AGS 3.3.1 Alpha 2 Turbo, does this mean I can start using this version now or should I wait for the next alpha release of this version so I can use higher resolutions (1280x720)?
Wait for 1-2 weeks, I am doing last fixes to custom resolutions.

As for the 2013th "3.4.0 Alpha" with limits removal, would the next alpha release of this version potentially at least include unlimited GUI controls?
That's possible; I am reviewing my 2013th changes now to see which may be moved here without trouble.

Ok thanks I'll wait until the next release then. Great work guys, btw!

This is the logical continuation of AGS 3.3.1 Alpha 2 released by Gurok about two months ago.
A special note about custom resolutions. They will supposedly be included into next alpha release, because they still require few minor corrections. This won't take too long.
Hi,

If I am currently using AGS 3.3.1 Alpha 2 Turbo, does this mean I can start using this version now or should I wait for the next alpha release of this version so I can use higher resolutions (1280x720)? As for the 2013th "3.4.0 Alpha" with limits removal, would the next alpha release of this version potentially at least include unlimited GUI controls? For me personally that would be the most important part of the limits removal and I would have no problem waiting for the rest of the limit removal.

QuoteI think it is better to report this to tzachs. Panels are his work, and I doubt this is specific to Custom Resolutions build.
Ok, I'll check it with tzachs. Thanks!

@Calin: We can increase the sprite cache by setting the cachemax in the acsetup.cfg file to something larger, right? Or is it more complicated than that?

Ok so I did a few tests, and if I unpin the stack window and place it at the bottom, and have the output window pinned as well, I can finally see the message window when there are errors...however (for me anyways), the output window and call stack tabs then disappear and I have to go back and reselect then in Window>Output/Call Stack.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned before, but is it a normal editor behavior when an error happens while testing the game and the call stack pops up but closes the output window? It seems then that informative error messages don't get displayed at all making it hard to know what went wrong other than getting the line that causes the error (via the stack window).

Hi,

Sorry for opening an old thread. I ran into a weird glitch and I also had a few questions regarding this plugin.

The glitch--> Since using 3.3.1 Alpha 1 (with custom resolutions), Ive noticed that using the PutAlpha function, it seems that some sprites get redrawn with semi-transparency in black/dark gray areas, when it should be opaque. Is this a problem with the plugin or 3.3.1 + custom res?

For my 2nd question, are there plans for this plugin to be merged into 3.3.1 with all the filters, Get/PutAlpha, etc?

Thanks!

Hi Ghost,

Im not too sure how many rooms I will eventually have, but there is already quite a few. I plan on using it for pretty much all the rooms...I like the workaround though, pretty clever. Entering the values manually shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Thanks!

One observation though: to make my game's trailer, I've video captured the game with Camatasia while I was playing it. Full-screen capture leads to a black video, although windowed capture worked perfectly. Do you think is it because of the Custom Resolution Build or would it happen also with the canonical 3.3.0? Or maybe the problem came from Camatasia and my PC?

I have the same problem currently as well. Windowed mode the video plays fine, but in fullscreen the screen remains black. My game is 1600x900, the video is 1024x768 wmv.

Wow, that works great. Thanks!

Aww crap.

Ok, well on another note, how can we loop through all the current room's hotspots and disable only the ones that have a certain text property value (GetTextProperty("Exit") == "Left")?
#34
Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to query the room edges the player is about to enter?

For example, say the player is currently in RoomA. The player walks over an exit region in RoomA to go to RoomB, but before that player actually goes to RoomB, I'd like to save RoomB's edges from within RoomA as global variables so I can use them in a custom changeroom function.

Is this possible somehow?

But I still want to remake this for "official" 3.3.1 in a slightly different way.
(it should still remain compatible)

Ok so eventually this branch will no longer exist because it will be merged completely into 3.3.1? If so...very cool!

+1

Count me in.

And my axe! (Or $100)

I'd be in too, and get people I know to contribute as well. Good idea!

Hi guys,

I hope its Ok to ask this, but I have to admit since learning the news that Crimson is leaving (btw thanks A LOT for all that you did!)...is this custom resolution build going to "stop" where it is? If so, it makes we a bit sad since Im not too sure now how I will continue my project (was hoping for limit removals too).

Does anyone know what will happen with this?:embarrassed:

I am going to start remaking custom res in 3.4.0 branch soon, doing some pre-planning now. Hopefully that won't take too long, I will use this version as a reference and try to avoid mistakes I did here at first.

Awesome news! So basically if I've been using this custom resolution build for my game up until now, I can eventually switch to 3.4 when a version is ready?

Congrats on releasing 3.3! Just wondering if you have any plans to get a newer custom resolution build released with all the 3.3 changes, etc?
