Steel angels! OK, this one gives you some freedom doesn't it... Make something that could be called a steel angel. What exactly that is I am not sure so feel free to test your character creation skills. Could be an character, a vehicle, player, a villan, etc. I want to see is some good metal shine or feathers.

Restrictions:
80x80 pixels.
16 colours.
usefull in a GAME.
Must be made by you... for this sprite jam.
some metal, wings and/or cool stuff like that.

All this invitation thing seems like a bad idea. No doubt some good artists won't be invited and some bad ones will be. It all depends on weater or not you entered the regular competitions, made a cool game or something like that. You don't know what an artist not as skilled as Helm or Loominous can do if he has the time to. If you have months to do a sprite, you can tweak it and mess with it until you make it competable agenst the "big shots". And leaving people out of the thing becouse they are not good enough for someone's standarts is another bad idea. This isn't sport, this is a comunity. I don't mind a big competition that lasts a month or more...but I just don't want someone to decide who's good enough to compete in it - you never know.
Prize? No, thanks. I don't sprite FOR the prize. I sprite becouse I like to.
And I hate explaining how I do sprites. I do them like everyone else, I just try to make it look good.

I was too busy drawing mr. T to notice it was your birthday too. Don't believe me? Here's the proof:

"Слава советской науке!" or "Glory to the Soviet sciense" sounds good but maybe it should be "народной науке" or something. My Russian isn't good at all but the Soviet was doing it all for the people. It was all "people's" back then.

You tottaly need a bigger Lenin pic and a simple greish frame. Those things were big and boring.

Also maybe an osciloscope or something around. And a coathanger.

I can name a few too... But I won't. This choosing who'sÃ,  good and who isn't sounds abit "nazi". I don't know. Let's call it a pro contest and allow every guy who thinks he can measure up take his part in the challenge. Or not.

Grump, the one-armed dwarf! I love the colors! :D

EDIT: Vict0r, don't be a racist. Dwarfs are people too and have feelings, so stop making fun of their skin colour.  :P

Farlander, for some strange reason that pic of yours looks photoshopped. Weird. ::)

Use a wavy kind of motion. Like a sinosoide or something, excuse my frenchÃ,  ;D. A snail moves in a interesting way. You might want to check that too.

I know may be a stupid question, but how do I make the player character say some of the global messages?
#196
Ahh, searching for the "maek my gane" button? Good luck. It's the wholy Graal for us, AGS people.
#197
I like the semi-bald shaved guy).Or maybe try adding some hair volume on the sides and keep the top bald. Lovely!

ildu, good idea! It's much more fun than coloring.  ;D

General Discussion / Re: Da Vinci Code Redux

Well what's the big deal about it? No one here has said it's some kind of 'bestseller' so what's so great about it? And what, really, is "The Da Vinci Code' that the book's about?

I am pretty sure everyone else has heard about it... So here it is as far as I know without reading the book or anything. This is what the fuss is all about. Possible spoiler warning!!! Jesus was married and his offspring was protected by a hidden orden. And the church is evil or something. Ohh and the real reason Da Vinci got into all that art is becouse he wanted to hide secret messeges in his works and stuff....

Sounds silly to me, but some people like that world conspiracy/biggest secret around kind of crap. I can't be bothered reading it. Most people say the book isn't anygood (flat story, predictable characters and stuff.) and I am going to trust them on that.
