As for the max number of arms, it should be 2. Less is ok, more isn't. Exept for octopuses and stuff but they have tentacles anyway.

Yes I agree there is a lot of backstory for these games, enough that they made books about them (I have never read them so I can't say how good they are)

The Warcraft books suck badly. Shallow and predictable plot, heroes SO noble and moral to make me vomit and vilans soo boringly evil.

And the Warcraft storyline is just a bunch of clishes repeated again and again... In a good way but clishes still.
