Lucas Arts should just keep making crappy Star Wars games untill people get sick of it and stop buying. As for adventure games... They are dead and AGS is a bunch of zombies. Maybe one day the things will change. Adventure games had a soul. A story. They made you think. But for the new generation of games thinking is bad. Just shoot everything, pretend you are really playing and enjoy the "game".

Not much for me to critic.
The hair looks much better, the proporsions seem correct and the dress looks pretty good. Maybe loose the blue on the sleeves (Just a suggestion) and replace it a goldy kind of colour.

The only real critic I have is on the colours. They seem too bright. Add a bit more contrast between the shades.

In keeping with my largely bland internet persona, I have no personal text :'(

My avatar is from a picture I drew of a woodchuck fairy (yes, I did draw that for a reason ^_^)
Dude, you draw like a chick.  :o

Well, Squinky since you have a big viking ship and this IS a tropical island, no doubt you're giving boat rides(or whatever its called) for the tourists. ;D

How silly of me! Skurwy has a point. As a country we get our .cht!

So what do we have on "Cup island" or whatever it is called? A cup-shaped volcano, a beach, a big white hotel, a little crappy hotel, a military base, a yacht club, a city (full of other stuff), few big houses and maybe a power plant.  Also a secret rebel base and my little shack. Is that enough?

Nice avatar you've got there btw. Sorry about the offtopic. :P

God bless me, I like it!  ;D
Kids seem to learn so fast these days. When I was a kid I didn't have a computer, just a chinise Tetris game and verry cool blond hair.  :'(

There is no right way, just a common way.
Here is what I can say: The hair looks messy. Try a more simple haircut for now. You use blue outline on teal hair. Not a bad idea if you know how to use it, but for now keeping it simple would do the sprite less harm.Don't limit yourself to Paint's default 28 colour palette. Make the colours yourself.
Also, the body seems too slim compared with the bottom of the dress.

Check that guys' arm lenght. #2 and #3 have really long arms. And #5's shoulder needs some work.
#252
Sure, if you say so. ::)
Good job.

Lets do it! And it will be a continuable story. Can I start? I have s great idea for puzzle #1. It's an easy one. ;D
Spoiler
Puzzle #1: The player wakes up in a cage hanging off a cliff. On the floor of the cage you see a spoon, a small bowl of cold vegtable soup and a bottle of water. A big vulture stands nearby and stares at you.

Good question. Working on the sprite itself is a better way. Make a sketch on paper first. And make sure the proportions are correct. Then open paint(or whatever you use) and draw a stick figure.Add details to it. Leave the hair and cloak for last. And read a tutorial about shading. Not a bad sprite, but it's a bit big. You better start with low-resolution sprites.  ::)

We already have our puzzle competition, but its not like I'm against this.
A puzzle competition? That IS puzzling - never heard about it.  ???

The face has too many colours, I counted 6 or so and you only need 3 for a sprite that small. The outline is over saturated. I'd use Lum. values for the shades at least around 20 or 30 more or less than the basic colour. also moving the eyes a pixel down and right and adding a darker outline would help. And you don't need the white for the eyes - it doesn't look too good. Also, hide his upper lip. the mustache looks fake now becouse it doesn't grow to the mouth.

Heh. Nice topic.
Ã,

Newton, The Geomancer

Newton is a simple guy with a simple life. As far as anyone remembers he lives in an old windmill with his pet cat. And no one bothers Newton. No one, exept the local farmers having a little bit of trouble with moles or bad soil from time to time.
But, in a few minutes something amazing is about to happen, and the greatest adventure in Newton's life will begin...

P.S.: That's a wand.  :P

We can allways try selling AGS-related goods. T-shits, cups, keyrings, posters and other stuff. Who wouldn't want a Roger-shaped keyring or a Spooks T-shirt?  ;D

This would be a bit hard, but how about a program like that virtual chatroom thingo...hobbo or whatever it's called.
It would take a bit of work, but, meh, wishful thinking.
I like that idea. :)
