So these are photos you manipulated and slightly painted over or how do I have to imagine the production process?

I guess these are two different ways you tried? Because the first image looks much more pixelated and less detailed than the second one.

In the first image I like the color palette and the shabby looking brick stone pillars, but I can't make out, if the wall has windows, diplay cases or if these are classic deco elements of a subway station. Also the sign stands out too much. It needs to be more integrated into your graphic style.

In the second image the red-brownish filter gives it an interesting atmosphere. If you clean up the rough parts on the right half, it could be nice, but the character sprite(s) should get a similar filter/lighting for not standing out too much.
