In the error message (see the Completed Games thread) it said
Error: RunInventoryInteraction: invalid inventory number
so I think the script has changed slightly since the release.

Rats. I should have known it was going to be in MI2 template code.
Seems to me GSlocid is not referring to the inventory when the line is called.
But I'm not an MI2 template expert...
Who, oh who, can possibly help?

Bouncing breasts are like floppy hands - they don't belong in a walk cycle.

foz? Pah! Stripling!
I'm a child of the 60s - 35 in less than a month.

Post global script line 656 and relevant context to the Tech Forum.
We'll sort it out there, no doubt.
Cheers!

That's cool. I don't care about the middle mouse button.
I was just defending my buddy Bill :)

About the sprite:
It's very nice! I like the hands and poses.
Like you say, it's a bit dark. I'd keep the gloves and boots totally black and add some more grey details to the body.
It might be better to make his eyes, mouth and head outline less black too.

About the script:
Looks very interesting!
Doesn't tell me anything about the game but it does tell me the game is going to be funny.
The dialog confused me a bit - I didn't see how (1) followed on from the conversation. It seemed to be the same incident described as if it was a different incident.
Also, unless you're planning on using a tiny font, those dialog options aren't going to fit on a line. You might want to shorten the choices and then "speak" the long versions.

It's early, but I'm looking forward to this!

Are you sure it's not that she's looking down and then up again? Because I don't get that problem...

Drew is a he I think...
And he's definitely not looking down and up again!

Just have to add my praise for this game.
Superb stuff. It was funny right to the last line of the credits.
Great backgrounds and characters (especially the animals) too!

Thanks!
Steve

It took me about 3 hours to finish, so by the forum rules that's full size I think... I'd call it medium length though.

Oh, and I had Drew's disappearing glasses problem too.

Very professional!
I'd change two things
- lose the subtitle on the game
- tone down the white highlights on the shirt. they look good on skin though!

Here's a rough suggestion:

I'm not sure where you were going with the nose, so I guessed a bit there.

Is this the kind of thing you were looking at, or something more detailed?

A workaround that tends to solve this problem is the following.
In most windows versions, you can set the middle mouse button to 'do something' such as a context menu or location help. This is done in the system config panel. Set it to 'left double click'.
Then in AGS (or whatever else you're using) detect double clicks and handle them differently.

You can't expect users to change their settings though...

For reasons unknown to me it is inherent in windows that applications tend not to be sent the WM_MIDDLEBUTTONDOWN and _UP messages. So blame Bill.

I never noticed that. WM_MBUTTONDOWN, WM_MBUTTONUP are usually sent fine, and have been since Win 95. I don't recall writing any DirectX stuff with mouse buttons but doesn't it just translate to an event with a Windows message (ie a WM_*)?

I can understand if Allegro is changing them, but that should be fixable.

I did something like this in IIISpy in the jail cell.
Dog character on one side, bars object in middle, player on the other side.
Worked fine.

mätzyboy,
The swedish guy is a character in
http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=12835

He's been in Mexico for a few years - that's why he's not pale skinned.

It would be nice to import animated gifs directly into a view - could even keep the timing from the gif!

I haven't used AGS's text parser stuff, but I'm pretty sure it's a bit weak compared to say Inform. In which case I would say mouse, because you don't want to cripple your game.

I suppose I should know what the OSI model is. ???

Lovely looking background, so far!

But I wouldn't trust mappomedia:

This started as a comment that "punctuation" wasn't the same thing as "score".

#3038
Don't keep the flaw.
It spoils an otherwise excellent animation!

shbaz,
Hmmm. It does look like it's coming out the end of the cigarette. That wasn't the intention obviously. I'll do something about it.
Cheers!

[EDIT]
Penguin,
Thanks! That arm looks more natural.
#3040
In one week you did most of the game?
Respect!

Looks really nice!
But what if I want to use the artichokes on the nunnery?
