I have a question, actually. I'm pretty decent at programming, but pretty terrible at art. I have a few friends (and my girlfriend) that are good in the art department. We've started something...but it really lacks direction. I have to ask out of curiosity: Is WEG interested in writing/designing games? Or is that too much in the "building a game from scratch" category?

Making a game completely maneuvered via mouse and keyboard would be a bitch for people without arms...or hands.

IF is an obvious candidate for voice control, it would be kinda interesting to try that. AGS isn't really the best choice for pure IF though.

My game, I Forgot? I dunno. I don't really think it's the kind of thing that would merit voice control.

What bugs me is that every article I've read says "hundreds of accounts" when it seems much more like at least thousands of accounts. I'm confused about the hacking bit as well. I generally always check the url whenever I log into anything, and my password was reasonably sufficient before I changed it yesterday. Still, I haven't noticed any changes in any activity of any of my online accounts, so I think I'm safe after changing the password.

Nonono, at least for me, it wasn't an email informing me. It was a big red bar across my Gmail inbox that said "Your account has had suspicious activity recently, click here to learn more", and clicking opened up that "Recent Activity" list (which is also accessible from the bottom of your gmail page.

Yup. My gmail account has apparently been accessed from China. Google tells me that if this is not my activity (which it is not, of course) I should change my password immediately.

It was apparently accessed on June 1st, and google hasn't alerted me until now. Nothing seems to have been changed...I went ahead and changed all of my important online passwords...

Did someone log in and not find anything interesting? I'm having a hard time finding out just what went on. Did this happen to anyone else?

I had some spare time recently, so I got together with some friends and we produced a video we had a lot of fun with.

It's something of a parody and we *did* use copyrighted materials, and we're not sure we've done it correctly.

Wow...once again thanks for the inspiration! I'm pretty humbled by everyone's stories, my life seems almost really easy by comparison.

Also- unless I'm mistaken my debit card doesn't cost anything to use. I have a savings account and checking account. Currently I'm putting about 80% of my paycheck into savings during them summer while I can, and the other 20% goes into checking for gas money and any other small expenses that need covering this summer.

Thanks again everyone! I'm feeling a bit better, I do generally cook for myself and the internet is free here. I don't smoke or anything either, so that's good. I just checked my account and I'm actually surprised at how much I've saved already. This last year might be a bit tough, but I've got the money to fall back on when I need it, so I think I just really need to tighten my belt like crazy for this last year and I'll manage to crawl out unharmed.

I don't know why I needed to make a topic for this, but it really would help me to just write this out.

I'm going through some hard times financially. I'm going into my senior year of college next fall. After getting a degree, I think everything will be okay. In the meantime, though, I've got to make it through a year with very limited resources. It's really hard to find work that will pay reasonably without that piece of paper.

I have a minimum wage job, and I write some articles on the side for a little money. It looks as though that is about to fall through, though. Soon my only source of income will be from the job.

I've got to pay for rent, school, and living expenses. After doing the math, it really seems that I will barely have enough. My parents seem to both be in situations where they are either less willing to help or unable to help. I don't live with either of them because of some step-family issues.

I think I'm just panicking a bit. Still, this is a really uncomfortable feeling. Any words of wisdom or advice out there?

But how can I write when I don't have a gleaming trophy to inspire me? 

I'm sure I can whip up some trophies before it's over.
