In an effort to kind of give the less insanely popular games in the AGS world a chance, here's a little review I wrote on it. Hopefully I'll be doing more of these.

is animation looks better from the side

I'd call it an improvement.

I'd be too tempted to vote for me :(

Oh, come on. It looks like a genuine, honest effort.

Mog, have you tried animating this? The biggest problem I see is that, although it appears to be a side view, we're seeing far too much of his torso at an angle that appears to be facing forward, so it's almost like he's doing a crab-walk. Also, seeing both of his eyes on a left or right walkcycle seems odd.

He also has a very strange posture, and his legs are a bit short. Although I'm not the best artist on the forum, I gave this a shot, first your version, then mine.

Indeed I am :D

That looks great! Now all I have to do is make my own and animate it...

:P

So Matt has made this ever-so-lovely BG (still in progress):

Which puts my original to shame:

Now, I don't know if/how etc. I'll be putting this together, but if I DO want to use the backgrounds in his style, the sprite of James doesn't work at all, both considering the sprite size and just the look itself.

Does anyone have suggestions or could possibly make an example of how to make the sprite better 'fit' the environment?

Thanks for the very comprehensive list Cogliostro!

As for the car crash, perhaps it will come up in the future?  ;)

I have to agree with you ProgZmax :)

I agree with Xenogia, who agrees ProgZmax, too, also, as well.

Thank you all very much, I'm glad you liked it!

Duals, I do plan on finishing the story that's there, in a final installment of sorts. However, first will come a supplement game to the series that takes place somewhere in between the first two, which is a first person style with a text parser, should be fun to work on! :D Also, you're being way too nice :P

Mods, I don't think the game is even half as fun without your music. The first time I added the music over

I literally jumped, although I of all people knew what was there.

Well congratulations in one aspect, icey. You released your game not too long ago but you've managed to get an insane amount of ...uh... 'feedback' for just a couple days.

AGS games making steam is highly unusual, just FYI.

The Sequel to Living Nightmare Deluxe. James has just finished the journal entry, now 20 years old. You control him as he begins to realize that his nightmares are starting to collide with reality. (With some work this will be made into a trilogy, please excuse the strange cliffhanger ending.)

I have to say, this MAGS is just what the game needed. I was really sluggish on this one, and I really needed something to help me finish.

The game features a beautiful soundtrack by this forum's very own Mark Lovegrove, who turned my request for 3 tracks into a soundtrack of over 20 midis.

Toward the end, things were really being pushed, so please let me know if anything goes wrong. Unfortunately, I will not have any access to AGS for the next couple days as I will be babysitting, but hopefully I'll be able to peek at the forums.

Updates:
Version 1.01: Added Mods' version of credits music.
Added better description for the 'about' button.

I would appreciate any votes after playing on the games page :D

Yeah, it actually wasn't until I joined these forums that I realized (see? see that there?) that we in America have changed many words,

C-to-S, as in defense vs defence etc.
S-to-Z, as in realize vs realise etc.

I can't be one to judge but I'm happy for the 'corruptions' myself. :D

And then there's your butchering of words containing 'ou'

YOU HAVE MUCH TO ANSWER FOR AMERICA

;)

Hahah, right, but those were the ones I knew about before coming here.

In his defence, defence is correct. Defense is an American English corruption of defence.

McCarthy has literally dozens of plot holes/mistakes but I learnt an awful lot from it's production.

You did this in McCarthy ans well!!!

It's = It is!!!

I apologize for my grammar police rant. It's only because I care.

I di make those pic's + I wasn't even trying...
Now, let me tell you why I work on sidekick.
1)I like to keep up on my ags post/topic
2)I like to respond to people even if bad
3)if its such a problem with me posting on my phone then maybe ags shouldn't work on my phone

AGS doesn't work on your phone, the internet browser does...and yes, maybe THAT shouldn't work...in your case.
