To be honest, I can't really tell you what to improve because you've got your own defined style. This is by no means a bad thing, but could you be a little more clear on what you would like improved? I feel like anything I could comment on is the way it is for a good reason.

The only thing I could suggest from this initial post is that his feet could be slightly more defined from one another.

Just some ideas:

-Driving along through the town with a  >: \   face. Smoking as well, if you'd like.
-Leaning against a wall in a dark hall, tipping a hat (if he/she wears one) over the eyes.
-Checking a fancy pocket watch.
-Loading/Aiming (not necessarily at anything, but just for kicks) a revolver.

They're a bit cliche' but fun in any case.

What's really amazing is this thread's reads to posts ratio! :O

Downloaded it.

It's not really a game at all. :-\ If you're going to post tests, please do not put them in the games database.

It's roger walking around a fairly desolate background.

Spooky and interesting, thanks!
Spoiler

How about a super deluxe version where you turn off the icon bar in the title screen?

Errr...damn.  :(

Shall not be a future problem I suppose.

Anyways, thank you all for the comments, and again I would very much appreciate votes/comments on the games page as well, constructive criticism or otherwise.

General Discussion / Not what I was expecting.

So I was walking along on campus today when, OH NO!

Someone was handing out fliers!

'Great.' I thought, since generally speaking, if someone is handing out fliers it's something about how God hates me and I'm going to hell.

However, I was quite surprised when I glanced down at it only to see this:

(Blacked out stuff is personal info of whoever was handing it out.)

EDIT: Sorry about the size, fixed it :P

Okay, this is getting out of hand. Seriously.

I decided to play English Teacher.

"hey everyone i was just working on my game & i said i have good art skills but no music skills when i try to make backgrounds in stuff i have a lot of truble i was thinking if i drew a pic of something then posted it could some take it and make a good picture asyou would normally do for your backgrounds then i will decide who could be my back ground drawer + as for music i will make a game with 3 music & 2 events in it(no music) ifyou can make a song for each thing and whenyou are done just send it to my gmail if i like ityou will be respond to if it is close to what i like i will letyou no what to tweak but i am pretty sureyou can make music other wiseyou would have never entered i am gonna coment on how the good or bad the music was or your art i will pmyou if i like your art & ask ifyou are willing to do the background art for my game you will not be left out i will let people noyou help this & that so dont worry just give it a try"

Becomes....

Hello everyone! I was just working on my game and was thinking...
I have decent artistic capabilities,  but I sure could use a composer's help when it comes to music!

However, when I try to make backgrounds and such, I tend to have trouble, which oddly enough contradicts that which I have previously stated.

I was thinking that if I drew a picture of something then posted it, you could take it and make it a bit better. Whoever posted the best revision could be my personal artist!!! Huzzah!

I'm not going to have any music in my game, but if you happen to have some, give it to me and I will put it in.

Also, I will judge all of your art, just because.

Have a lovely day.

Gah. Sorry to hear that, Snake.
It was a good bit of fun :<

All round brilliant. Really loved the art and animation. All the characters were interesting and unique, too.

I was playing through with my GF and she laughed for quite a while at that one as well.

All around fantastic job, Grundi!
Much better than the original, I'd say :D

Yay! I honestly was hoping for 2/5 this time around. (Twice as good as the original? :D)

In any case, I suppose I'll learn from it and make the next even better. I am kicking myself in the ass for that one puzzle though... I'll try to make the next a bit more comprehensive?

I did think it odd it says it's unclear what James is suffering from...is it not clear to others as well?  :-\

I would really appreciate some input via votes and comments to help me understand the issues.

I'm trying to understand the problem...

Is this it....?

You've made a game in which you made a GUI that resembles an iPhone. When you save and exit AGS, the GUI will not appear on the next load.
#454
I quite like it! It looks ...I don't know. More modern? In any case, nice work.

By "Saw" we're meaning a "saw wave"

It is a sound that produced a wave pattern like this /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ and because the wave pattern looks like that it is called a "saw waveform."

I believe the sound you're referring to is the one that they are using for lightening. That's not a specific sound but I would describe it as a ripping sound and a "50s style laser gun" simultaneously being played. I'll see if I can do a bit more research for you.

That's very nice of you. Thanks for the information. :)

Unless it's a full-grayscale game, start using colour.

Gray is the most boring color in the world.
It's a very rainy, dreary day...

I think gray suits it.

It sounds like a Saw shaped synth swelling and then dying off. I could be listening to the wrong sounds. (at 2:21 are you talking about the lightening or the sound in the background?)

I took two synths and put them together. This took literally 30 second so its probably not spot on but if you like it, use it:

If not, tell us more about what type of sound you're looking for.

Not the sound the saws are making, that quick sound around 2:21 that only lasts a fraction of a second. It sounds like some sort of high pitched instrument.

Thanks Khris and Darth!

The paint-over helped quite a bit, though I kind of made some things my own. Also,I didn't really want a brick building feel, so I went with adding a bit more to the whole column type theme...

Maybe this is a bit better than the original though?

Can't help but feel like you've got ulterior motives Mr.First-Post  ;)

I was playing around with this. It's pretty basic, the outside of an office building in a downtown city type area.

I can't quite place it but I think something is a bit off (perhaps the perspective with the distant building?) but I'm not really sure how to go about altering it. Any suggestions?

It's supposed to be very gray and gloomy, by the way. :P
