Done that. I'll pm you from now on, I shouldn't really be asking for hints in your game thread :P

EDIT Okay. Done. Not sure if these things were brought up but here's some notes I took:

Spoiler

Sometimes doors both open and shut before you go through them.

Bottom Drawers were called "Bottom Draws"

You use the 'walk' icon to go down the manhole and get on top of the boxes...but the 'use' icon to go up and down the stairs? This confused me and took me forever to figure out, as I assumed it would be the other way around. Also, it looks very silly to have him walking up and down the ladder, perhaps he should just transfer between the rooms without needing to go up and down it? (ie. make it so he walks to the ladder when he uses it, then the room changes.)

Having the player constantly walk to an object when using/looking at it only to do nothing and have no comment on it was very annoying.

After you place the symbol from the cupboard into the golden circle, it's possible to go back and get another one.

Sometimes you can phase through doors, the character can click 'use' on a door and simply be in the next room without walking to the door first.

To me, the stairs indicated that they were the way to the front door, and it was only until I tried 'using' the stairs that I realized the front door must be on the fourth wall. It would be nice if this were indicated more clearly.

The word 'I' wasn't capitalized in one spot (can't remember where) and you combined the words 'sit' and 'down' when he tries to take extra books in the library.

When the man first chases you, you can run into the art room, wait for him to come in, then run by him again. If you do this, there's a glitch where the character shouts 'no stay back' etc. again, and the guy chasing him respawns down at the other end of the hall.

Don't know if you meant to leave this in, but if you press ESC at any point, you can bring up the default AGS game menu, where you can significantly mess with the game's speed.

Now, these are all simply things I noticed and suggestions and it is by no means a bad game, I just think if these things were looked into it could be even better.

Second floor? Oh boy, I must have to do something else first... I don't know about the second floor or how to get there. Basically, I've just escaped from the freezer and put the first symbol in the gold frame.

Seems to be heavily 5DAS inspired, yes...
Especially the player character and the house's layout in some areas, the ambient sounds randomly playing.
Still playing it though, pretty neat so far. I'll edit this when I'm done.

Right now I'm really stuck,
Spoiler
I got the symbol and put it in the gold thingie, now I can't find the other symbol...or whatever I'm supposed to do next...I'll keep trying in the meantime.

Ohhh. I see. I misread what you said. Sorry.

Heh, I just watched it again :) It's fine. You can use whatever voices you want, it's your playthrough, I don't mind! I enjoyed it very much ;D

As long as you're sure, I'm not trying to mock the game so much as just make it more entertaining for anyone that watches, if it bugs you at all just let me know.

lol!

Although I loved it, the voices you chose are horrible! I couldn't stop laughing, but at the same time I was cringing every time either Kristen or I had things to say...lol. Niether of us sound anything like that ;) Great job on Matt's voice, though :=
Hehe. I'm sorry but it was too much fun. If you'd like I can try more normal voices for the next one :P

Here's my part one of Matt to the Future!
I do apologize for Matt's mom's voice :P
Sorry there wasn't any true 'playing' per se, but my voice is really killing me today :<

Only thing that tripped me up was
Spoiler
having to look at items in the inventory MORE THAN ONCE to get a new item or information on the item. I really wish I would only have to look once, for when I see the generic 'this is what that is' message, I assume there will be nothing new following it. This is a matter of personal taste though, I'm sure some thought to do it without any trouble.

But absolutely superb animations, graphics, music, and even the puzzles, though challenging, were all great. I'm interested to see where it goes.

I may try a LP on this tomorrow if I'm not dying from the flu :(

One thing that might be interesting (and I sort of regret suggesting it because I'm way too lazy to ever do it) is to have the game creators themselves do a sort of Let's Play of their own game, but do a DVD-style commentary as they go along, talking about making the game, etc.

I was actually planning on doing this with my next game :D

I haven't finished but I do really like it so far, it's very interesting and the puzzles are challenging.

Lesser known titles you say? Well how about my demo of Matt to the Future? I know it's only a demo, but what the hell?

Or even Castle of Fire? It's not an adventure game, but it would be fun to see other people play it ;)
Sure, I can do Matt to the future!
Probably not too soon though, I'm very sick and it would sound pathetic to talk like this through a whole video series. I'll give it a go tomorrow if my voice improves.

I'm sorry Bulba  :(
We can work with each other, I'm sure!
I was planning on putting them on my site, because I'm not a fan of using youtube. However, if that seems to be the better idea, maybe I'll just throw them on there.

Look for games with voice acting. I watched a couple of let's plays of the early Ben Jordan games, and to be honest I can't decide which is worse, listening to the commentator doing all voices or having to read text in a YouTube-sized video.

Edit: McCarthy Chronicles could be a good one!

That's the thing, though. With the right commentator, the dialog can be done really well! Plus, I'd rather not play a game where the voice actors do all the work for me, that's no fun :P

Well presented - good graphics, spiffy effects, nice voice acting, and good job with the SFX. Nice job - I'm excited for the sequel!

On the negative side, the textual speech had a few too many grammatical, spelling and punctuation-related errors, and there were times when it didn't match up with the speech too well. This game would not have worked nearly as well without the voice-acting.

To that end, I'd like to have the option to turn off the game's textual speech, so I don't have my immersion ruined by the unsightly aforementioned errors.

The puzzles weren't bizarre and far-fetched, and I didn't get stuck too many times, so that's a thumbs up in that regard.

I think you can also work on the dialogue options - some of the everpresent ones felt as if they should've been once-offs, if you know what I mean (especially with Sarah).

On the whole, it was good. Now finish the second episode so I can find out what happens next! =)

I'm pretty sure you can turn off speech in any game by choosing the option in the game's window setup.

Good advice. Yeah, Yahtzee's have been done...but I mean the lesser known titles. I don't expect a huge audience, but it might make for a fun thing to do here and there.

I'm sure all of you know of (or maybe not) 'Let's Play:' Videos that float around youtube. I was thinking of dong a series where I play games from these very forums to play through with my own narration.

I'd just like some input. Is this a good idea? Bad idea?

I do recall that you said the graphics were the drawback..I hope you improve this in terms of gameplay too!! Looks really good.
Thanks!
Yes, I do intend to lengthen it quite a bit in both story and puzzles as well. I believe there were only 5 or so and they were all incredibly simple. Some of the puzzles in this game are a throw-back to the old one, with a slightly harder twist.

Fan fiction?
I can't believe this hasn't been brought up yet....

Note that the video's maker is simply telling the story that some other fan faction writer had written.

I always hate those kinds of puzzles, but that's just me. I know others appreciate them. I always grit my teeth and grit through them, seems like a silly reason to quit a game completely.
