Great Game!  :D 1 year later and already known as a classic.

2 possible bugs, but my laptop got arthritis :
Spoiler
After 'Frotz' is cast for the second time at the beginning of 'Day 2' , Calliope stays on her dark Goth-Style-darkness-emulation-clothes for all game-long. Also, strange sprites of Darco (or drapes?) - cut in half (sit?) position flash sometimes in the main hallways and in the library...

Me Neither. :(
(those dammit time paradoxes)
Played and completed!!!

Great mag game !  FSi, funnier if the original motion picture scared the hell out of you. So I really felt relieve arround the end.

Spoiler
"There's olny Akatosh who can draw a bleeding corpse hanging to a tree in a canibal village and it's going to look cute anyway." Ak: if you'r looking for a job try communication agencies for politicians - everybody will pay hard money for that.

Nightfable : Please... pleaaase... pretty please with positronic particules on top. I believe you have the perfect artstyle to match with an Azimovian game. And this one is a good one. I read your posts on the C Lounge. I'm sure their's plenty of ppl on this forum who's going to be happy to lend you a hand on that.

How comfortable are you with me tainting the Adventure Game format with other genres?
If, and olny if, it makes sense with the thematic I'm sure it can be good.

Let's agree that Adventure Games are NOT dead.  Which would you prefer: nostalgia, or continued advancement of the genre?
As many have said before, it's somewhat a fake dilema.

I'm not a nostalgic. I'm just a realist. IMHO I have difficulties to appreciate actual commercial adventure game, mainly for their lack of possible interaction, their propention for pixel-hunting and their huge linearity. And most of those happens to be side effects of putting so many ressources on graphics / animations / movies.

The Dan Movie-Like Modern-Adventure-Game Emulator
- Put a movie in your dvd player. Every 5 minutes stop it and roll a D6 :

1 - Take a walk back and forth to the washroom D6 times. Press Play.
2 - Read a random page of a joke magazine. Rewind 2 minutes. Read the joke again.
3 - Do a crossword puzzle or a Chessmaster 2000 tutorial. For any hesitation you had, hit the |<< button.
4 - Unplugued your DVD-player. Wear boxing gloves. Replug it then press play.
5 - Put a totally different DVD in. Continue the game with this one for the next 15 minutes.
6 - Lock yourself in a cupboard. Stay there and roll the dice until you got 6 again. Get out.

If you want your characters to actually talk, or if your expecting them to have a fully realistic animation to everything they do you're taking the risk to shorten a lot the possible game play. The typical exemple was Phantasmagoria. You just can't do nothing. The gameplay is to found what you can actually interact to trigered a movie.

QuoteActually, no, many of the tourists are "such amateurs" and don't realize the consequences of psychedelics.

I am affraid that 'substance tourism' will always cause their share of problems.
Where I live, the legal age for alcool is 'olny' 18, that we deal well, but every Springbreak drunk US fratboys make the news.

Downloaded and enjoyed.

A lil bug: If you came back from the airport, the main character dispeared for good.

QuoteOne day, I'll understand what people like about this Me Go Store stuff. Until then, thanks for the nice comments, people!

Here why :

== Akatosh Games ==
Originality : Huge
Pixel Hunting : None
Interaction Level : 100% - If it's draw, it's (usually) clickable.
Puzzle Logic : From Good to excellent.
Immersion : Relative to player imagination. Personnal score :100%
Overall : Light and Refreshing

== Last Commercial Game I Bought ==
Originality : Sherlock Holmes vs A cheap Lovecraft mummy...
Pixel Hunting : Relatively Heavy.
Interraction Level : Low like hell. Most puzzles need to find fire sources on a mansion fullfill of candles and gazlights.
Puzzle logic : None. To find what's interractable IS a puzzle.
Immersion : Very good and long cutscenes. (to read : none)
Overall : Frustrating, boring, better rent a movie instead.

Yeah the Goonies rocks.
(for once that the main character is NOT a pirate) :=

The OMP Soundtrack olny have 10 songs, mostly 80's famous bands/singers (Cindy Lauper/ The Bangles / Speedwagons etc...).
The olny thing near 'classical' was the main theme.
Sorry.
:-[

CBS released an other soundtrack in 1985 with the classical themes (+1 Cindy Lauper), sounds that if 'Fratelli Chase' can be called 'jail break' that's the one you should look for.

Hope your gonna found it.

Same thematic (will probably got the same answer) :

All my playing areas have 128 of height. Is there a way to give AGS a little more attraction toward Loop0 & Loop3 when the player click to walk ? So the way my characters walks are sometimes surrealistic. (It seems that my playing chars. face Left or Right more oftenly than needed.)

I overturned it the way I draw walkable areas (through doorways by example) but it's sometimes problematic (lots of very narrowed W.Areas + places I just can).

thanx.
