May have to scrap the on-site bar, too.

You've just ruined it for me too. :p

It's looking very clean. Please add a light bulb, light fitting, fan with a light fitting or something on the ceiling. And better add a light switch while you are at it. Give the background more depth using a shadow layer. The ceiling could use some coving as well. And is that a window or Jail bar's. I don't see any glass.

I can't really schedule an IRC meet until I get a rough idea at least of when the awards are ready to be announced..

We could just hold it tomorrow night and make up the winners like they do on Top Gear. Who needs democracy?

Essentially what they are saying is Jesus was evil because he ate a fish, if your mind is as warped as mine.

Layabout, I am amazed that anyones primary reaction to the hilarity/ridiculousness/waste of time of this PETA campaign, could be anger that it suggests jesus was evil for eating a fish. I don't know why, it just seems like the funniest, strangest and most far removed conclusion you could possibly draw from it all.

Haha, I am Agnostic. I just find it very ironic that vegetarians who are also Christians, will not eat fish, when their so-called saviour does. And I'm sure there were Christians at the 'sea-kitten' ideas meeting at PETA...

On another somewhat outsidey-boxey train of thought, what will Kittens eat if fish are to be called 'Sea-Kittens'? Surely not Sea-Kittens as that would be akin to cannibalism of the feline persuasion.

Hah, yes, I already mentioned this nuttyness in passing in the Free Range meat thread.

Essentially what they are saying is Jesus was evil because he ate a fish, if your mind is as warped as mine.

I enjoyed the 'live' irc ceremony's when they were in their heyday. And yes, I believe I was a co-host back in the day, and it was hard work let me tell you. Several hours, stupid o'clock in the morning (this was before I moved to England), because DG did it GMT, to get the biggest audience numbers. There was a great amount of planning that went into it. And I still didn't win the p3n1sh award for Dickboy, the ultimate p3n1sh no effort game.

I miss the p3n1sh award.

Let uncle Lay tell you all a tale. I'm not saying this is true, but it might enlighten some people.

There is a planet somewhere in the galaxy, where there are aliens, called Blorgs. The Blorgs like to travel, drink and eat fine food. On another continent of the planet, there are the Blargs, who are ignorant fat fast food eating alcoholics. One thing is, their favourite food is humans. The Blargs decide to transport 10 million humans to their planet and shove them all in cages, forcing them to eat gruel and fornicate with each other to produce more humans. When they are fattened enough, they shoot them in the stomach, as the eyeballs and brains are a delicacy and need to be preserved so not to loose their juicyness and flavour. Now, the Blorgs, being refined gentlemanly-like beings, relocate not only the humans, but all their possesions and everything. They go through their daily lives. Ripeness is at 40 years old. At this time, the humans are cleanly slaughtered and packaged in their local supermarket. Because the Humans have lived stress free, their bodies have aged at the correct speed. The stressed intensivly farmed humans bodies have aged much quicker due to hardship and stress.

Which Human would you rather be?

Basically, put yourselves in the animals position.

Personally, if I had to live with the knowledge that at age 40 I was going to die, thanks to aliens who like to eat people, I'd live as much as possible and try to live as happy as possible.

And before all you vegetarians pop up and say aha! You don't have to eat meat. Sod you. I like meat. It's tasty.

Heh. That was a fun little game. Backgrounds looking good as ever Miez. :)

Wow, cool idea Mark. Unfortunatly I don't see a way of being able to help you (I would so do it if I were in UK still) So no stunt driving by me :p

Good luck with it mate. Hope it goes well.

I am a character designer, have known to be spiteful at times, but unfortunatly I don't fit into your third criteria. My name is not Ned or any variation of Ned. Sorry.
#432
I already try to eat organic, free-range food because it actually tastes better. But as long as the fast food giants stay in business, there will never be a lack of need for intensive farming.

Just don't make me call fish sea-kittens. What drugs are these people on. http://www.peta.org/sea_kittens/

Btw you got your dates wrong, unless you are, in fact, a time traveller. How have you been working on this since 1999 if RON wasn't created until late 2000-early 2001?
#434
I' d like to see Tim Schaefer there. That would be awesome.

Progz, it's only 7 or 8 hours by plane and about $500. Not that bad and you get to see Merry ol England to boot.

Reboot Reboot Reboot.

The cast is too large and full of some redundant characters, some rather awful characters.

We are all grown up now, but our characters haven't really evolved. The town is laid out in a clumsy way due to people adding locations here and there.

Characters need new profiles, the town need to be better planned. I don't suggest getting rid of what has come before if they are integral to the series. It was supposed to be a fun project, and a fun place to set games in. There are just soo many characters to choose from, so many different locations, and it's difficult, unless you have played every RON game, to have this knowledge. Yes the wiki would be a great idea, but what we have at the moment.

And I guess everyone who mentions the Marketing of RON. I realise that if I were new to AGS, I wouldn't know that RON is the place to start. I don't think I'd know it exists.

And for the reboot thing. I don't want all the characters to be dead or anything, or have it set in space. Just to ignore all the canon that came before and start afresh.

Or better still, study tree silhouette's and search for them in google images. It will give you  a foundation to build your tree, know their form, etc. The shape of your trunk is fundamentally wrong.

I played it. I found it quite an annoying game. Sorry.

I dunno, I've never really seen the appeal of Mythbusters. They're mostly ok, but the pace of the show is too slow for my modern 30-second attention span. Although it may be a kids show, I still prefer Brainiac :P

Ahh the endless appeal of see what happens when you put things into microwave ovens. How can one resist?
#439
Wow, that was really easy.

Vote Ben Jordan for President... uh I mean the AGS Awards!

Whoa and hooray.

Expression of beta-testery interest. Please let me break your game.
