Also, let me know what you are doing Dave, London or Brittens. I should be able to make a trip.

Hello.

I was going to book the bloody eurostar this week, but I have some issues that need sorting out, such as a job, since the place I work at has gone bust.

Fuel costs... well I have no idea really, as I'm not sure how many miles I'll get out of my tank. In 2 months the price of diesel will most likely be £1.50 a litre, so lets go on about 40 mpg average. bout £120 worth of fuel there and back I think.

I'll need about £90 from all i think.

Hey AGA, I have a car, I can go wander off hahahaha.

Umm... I need to find a new job, the pub i work in went bust yesterday... Not good.

But i'll still be at Mittens. I just may need to borrow some money off my dear old brother.

Doubt it, but I may be able to pop down for a day.

I was wondering when you were going to do it! :p Congratulations Dave.

When you were talking about it a month ago, I wasnt sure if it was just a bit of alcohol fuelled rambling, but you have done the good thing.

I hope all goes well for you, and will definitaly be attending a party.

I would say myself there are far too few frames in that walkcycle. Need to add some 'tweens. The rest I would say has been said.

What are you using to make these images?

If you are not using a program with layers (which it looks like you are not), then I'd suggest you obtain one and learn about the magic of layers.

If you are... layers. And start on something a bit more lo-rez. It will look better. I don't think you are ready for 640x480.

I am not terribly bothered. I never really liked Zac Mackraken to be honest.

They rejected it? The fiends!!! It's by far more entertaining than most of the others released lately!

Heya,

So has anyone got any experience of this? I am in the process of doing it, and as usual, I'm getting the typical run-around.

I went to New York in May. My flight was booked on the 30th April 2008, and I recieved a phone call the day before from my travel agent telling me my flight was cancelled, would i like to go on the 1st of May or a refund. I went a day later (well, more like a day and a half.) I got less time to enjoy my trip, my hostel got a bit screwed up (but thankfully due to the awesomeness of the people working there, it got sorted out rather quickly.)

I sent American Airlines an email through their website (a horrible way of doing things. It has a limited number of characters, and if youve previously had a reply, you have to go through the whole process over again). Basically quoted the regulation and the fact that unless they can prove that Extraordinary Circumstances caused my flight cancellation, they owe me â,¬600.

I received a respones today.

May 26, 2008

Dear Mr. Keepence:

Thank you for your email and I apologise for the delay in our response.  I am very
sorry to learn that we have disappointed you.  There is no question that you were
inconvenienced when we were unable to get you to your destination as planned on 30
April and we are truly sorry.

The EU Regulation (EC Reg. 261/2004) that you mention does provide certain rights
for passengers whose flight is delayed or cancelled -- or who are denied boarding
due to an overbooking of the flight.  The type of compensation and amenities
provided are based on the circumstances surrounding the event, and does not always
include compensation.

After reviewing the extraordinary circumstances surrounding flight AA115, it is
clear that this event was beyond American Airlines' control.  The flight did not
operate due to an unforeseen mechanical problem with the inbound aircraft.  In this
case, EU Regulation 261/2004 does not apply, and we are not required to provide the
compensation outlined in the text of the regulation.

Should you have any further queries pertaining to this regulation, the contact
details for the National Enforcement Body according to EC regulation 261/2004 in
the United Kingdom are as follows :
               Air Transport Users Council
               Room K705 -- CAA House
               45-59 Kingsway
               London WC2B 6TE

As more tangible evidence of our concern and regret for your disappointing
experience, I have sent you a transportation voucher under separate cover to the
address provided in your email.  It may be redeemed within one year of the issue
date toward the purchase of a ticket for future travel on American Airlines or
American Eagle.

Mr. Keepence, again, we are sorry for your disappointment and for the
inconveniences you encountered as a result of the cancellation.  Unfortunately, our
schedules can't be guaranteed as we must often make changes in order to resolve
problems caused by weather, flight conditions, mechanical difficulties, or other
operational challenges.  We hope that you do not let this incident discourage you
from travelling on us.  We look forward to seeing you onboard again soon.

Sincerely,

Arjanne Suierveld
Customer Relations
American Airlines

It sounds to me like an automated response to be honest.

I wrote back asking for evidence that the Mechanical Problem were indeed extraordinary (although i did not hear about Godzilla eating the wings of planes in New York on the 29th of May), To show evidence that they did not have back up planes or could not get a chartered plane or something. It seems to me they probably just had an early morning flight (my flight) that was underbooked to be honest. It wouldnt suprise me, what with the rising cost of oil.

I am eagerly awaiting their response, oh and my comlpimentary flight vouchers. Guess I'm off to the states again this year.

Actually, I'd agree, it's the best written ron game for at least a few years. I was just quite perplexed by the penis animation...

Don't lie Ryan Timothy. It's a bit rubbish. The look of the building is boring, it's done in a very crap 3d style, with repeating textures, and is very square.

The size of the building does not accuratly reflect the size of the floors of the building. Either the rooms are about 10 foot tall in size or you need to redo the whole thing.

Basically what you want to do is redraw (or re-3d the whole thing, although I seriously advise against that as you seem to be struggling) the whole building.

What I would do is have the size of your character and make the 'ceiling' of each floor about 1/3 the size of your character on top of his head. That should give you more accurate ceiling heights. In  that building, you could have had 3 floors instead of 2!

And also take the advice of Ryan Timothy and google image some buildings, to make the outside less boring.

The question is not 'wouldn't that look nice', it is really, 'it would be nice if someone could pull it off.'

Most people around here would not be able to pull off 3d that looks up to a commercial standard. You would get really crap 3d, which would most likely make many people puke.

Eric could do it, his 3d is nice. I could probably do it, if there were a 3d ags character plugin which was somewhat decent and used a decent model format. Unfortunatly, the only ags 3d character plugin accepts only milkshape and a really obscure useless format no one will use.

Maybe in the future, we will get a decent model format that may inspire me to utilise my 3d skilllz, but at the moment, none is available.

As for those programs you mentioned, only one to me seems useful, and that is maya. Not that I like it that much, as 3ds max has a much nicer user interface. Maya confuses me to no end!!!

General Discussion / Re: Premature babies

I spent a couple of years in Gloucester. That is where my spiteful comments about Single Chav mothers come from.

I did not say that men were not also responsible. They are. But not fully. If a man runs away when his girlfriend or whatever tells him that she is pregnant, the girl has a right to choose. And alot will still choose to have teh baby even though they can't support it.

When I said 'recieving benefits' i was implying 'living off nothing but benefits'.

I just object to those who get pregnant and have kids when they have no means to support the damn thing. Like those 15 year old kids you read about in the Daily Mail! :p

I go for the filmmaking point of view. If it doesn't drive the story forward, ditch it. Same with games. Sometimes it is useful to include a lobby, just so you are not jumping around too much, but i'd cut most unneccesary things.

Trying not to spark a debate on the right to choose or not... but I can see one happening.

Abortions are a good thing in my opinion. They allow women/girls to get rid of an unplanned baby. A baby is a massive financial and personal commitment. But there are loads of STUPID girls out there getting pregnant and deciding to keep it even though they have NO means to support the child. This creates BROKEN kids who turn into chavs and knife people. There is no reason why the cutoff date is so high. There should be a set standard.

Back in the old times, there weren't many girls getting pregnant at a you age or before marriage. It was unacceptable and it would bring shame to the family.

With all the free love of the 60's and so forth, it became acceptable. And they bought in abortion in 1967.

Many girls in the UK would prefer to have a baby and loose the rest of life due to commitments and continue to feed the single mother plague. And then go on benfits for the rest of their life.

But abortion is there to allow these people a choice. Too bad most of them are too f***ing stupid to make the right choice.

Did you enjoy animating the massive floppy penis of guido's?

Police Quest:open season used 'photographs' as sprites. Realistically, i think they filmed the actors walking, talking and whatever frames and converted them to sprites. It wouldn't be that hard to do, if that is the effect you are going for...
