It was not co-ordinated. I replied to the sheer stupidity of the original post.

General Discussion / Re: I started a diet!
Thu 17/04/2008 01:56:15
If you want to eat pizza, have thin and crispy (if you are ordering from a pizza place) have half the amount of cheese and a good mix of veg and maybe chicken. I'd recommend a pizza chain as opposed to your local kebab place that also does pizzas, as the kebab places stack on the toppings (which doesnt need to be done, it kills a pizza, particuarly too much cheese) Thing about mozzerella, it has little taste and binds the toppings together so the pizza doesnt fall apart. half the amount of chesse will not affect the binding much.

Beer. It's bad and it is good. Beer for lunch? not unless you are on holidays. Maybe a couple on a saturday or sunday lunch. If you choose to drink through the week, stick to something like vodka and diet coke or diet tonic (or gin if you prefer) Much healthier for you.

And Beer is not too bad for you calory wise. Half a beer, 284ml or 10fl/oz is less calorific than a small (pub) sized glass of wine at only 175ml.

Everything in moderation is good for you.

Just don't make the mistake of going on a session and eating afterwards, as this food will go straight to the belly (beer belly).

Don't ever starve yourself, as your body will start storing more fat. Eat 3 meals a day, dont eat 3 hours before bed.

And if you want to realise how much you eat, write down absolutly everything you eat in a week, and every thing you drink.

Don't listen to those do-gooders about alcohol consumption. The only good advice they have is not to drink on an empty stomach.

But you sound as though you are off to a good start.

Torchwood would prevent a disaster like that from ever happening.

Francisco Gonzalez, cause we discuss game ideas and chat about regular stuff and I am staying at his house next month.

CJ and I have had many a moment, we both have the same sense of humour.

Dave Gilbert, as we shared a common karaoke interest and a tent. Also going to see him next month in NY.

Nacho as always.

Berian is a smelly welshman who smells a lot.

Mods for many a memorable drinking experience.

DGMacphee, the first person I met from teh interntes

Creed is awesome too. I love his beardedness.

General Discussion / Re: Gay, the insult
Fri 11/04/2008 14:38:20
If a girl called me gay, I would simply reply with, 'If I am soooo gay, then why have I been checking out your tits the whole time?'

In theory it should work.

I've been subject to the gay name calling before. It's pointless to get angry over and even better to play along and freak people out.

Well, let's break this down.

We're using the Channel Tunnel, which is costing us £43 per person, return.
There are no tolls on our route, since luckily to get to the Mittens Chateux from Calais avoids all the evil French toll roads.
The drive is about 550 miles there and back, which is likely to cost about £70 in petrol (£18 per person).

Therefore travel costs should be about £60 each for the trip by car.
Added to the cost of the cabin (which I think was about £85 each) means that the total for transport + cabin hire shouldn't be more than £150 each for those of us driving from the UK.

QuoteAs far as I know, everyone going in cars to France will be coming back in them, and that they're full

Well, we could always leave someone in France -- I'm sure someone will be so taken by the area they won't want to leave. Alternatively, if scotch never reappears from his mysterious disappearance, we might have a spare seat.

What CJ said applies to my vehicle too.  And mine is full full full.

Yes, but do you not think that if a [big company] offered CJ £1,000,000 or a figure much like that, that cj would say no? He is only human. Do you think he would put up with being snogged by Mark Lovegrove for fun? For being made fun of because he can't understand a simple joke like 'a man walks into a bar... celona' for nothing. He wants the cash!!!

He is only in this for loads of cash and loads of pussy. You knows it!!!

Dave doesn't do April Fools jokes. It's against his strict Judiasm.

Looks great Dave, yet again, no doubt another masterpiece.

I'm Looking for a test demo of a game I did. Think the exe was ronjesus.exe or something. I sent it to a few people about 4 or 5 years ago. If anyone has it, or knows someone who has it, pleeaasse give me a link for it or something. I know it aint in the archive. It didn't get a big enough release.

Does Berian's house smell as much as he does?

:( No love for Ben Jordan or The Apprenctice series... No Love for Blackwell.

I pooh-pooh your list!
#577
Your outlines use a lot of double pixels. I'd advise against that.

Lovely detailed backgrounds and simple character art??? Doesn't work together?!!?!?!

Look at any disney film.

And that background link you posted was rather a poor example of what he should follow.

To improve the sprite, I would anti alias the black lines. Well, I wouldn't make em black in the first place. But it is ok.

Do you draw your character art on paper then scan it in and trace?

Simpler terms, what is your technique for spriting.

As for the background. Looks nice, but yes, a bit smudgy. Do you use a tablet?

The Wacom Bamboo Fun they market as an artists tool... They include Photoshop Elements 5 and some other art program i never use. The bog standard cheap ass bamboo, they market as a way to spruce up documents.

If you only have £150, i'd get a bamboo fun A5. Personally, I have an A6 of the same variety, and if I were buying again, i'd get an A5. They are just missing the tilt and stuff, pressure sensitivity is fine. The Graphire is extinct.

The bamboo fun has 4 buttons (yay) and a zoom/scroll thingy.

The only downside is the sheer whiteness of it. They get grubby really quickly. Especially if you smoke around it and are useless and drop ash.
