I can bring a netbook, but the small screen size makes it awkward to 'show and tell'.

Where are we going to meet at Dublin Airport?

I don't know! Me and Disco will probably meet at Gatwick airport since we are catching the same flight. Our flight goes to Terminal 2. It would be best to get some numbers so people are able to text each other to meet up.

But I think an executive decision should be made to meet at Jamison Bar in Terminal One. It's close to arrivals in Terminal 1 (where I guess most people will be arriving) and will probably be one of the only places with plenty of room to sit. :P

Awesome, aborting 'big blue cup hats' plan and initiating 'red bearded man' plan    :)...

Uhh... That may not be the best plan. Ireland is full oh red headed bearded men.

What is the plan for mobile numbers when over there? Especially with the planes and trains crew, since there is every chance someone will get lost.

I'm flying to London next weekend, so Internet will be limited once I get there and I have probably lost everyone's number.

Its pretty awful. There are some genuinely good moments there, but the game just feels stale and uninspired.

Loading times on both 360 and ps3 are atrocious. I hear PC is pretty quick.

But it's a Duke Nukem game, after Duke 3d, you expect it to be full of dick and tit jokes. Too bad BULLETSTORM did that kind of humour so much better 6 months ago.

So if you want a Duke Nukem game, just go buy Bulletstorm.

I won't be staying for the Sunday night. I have to attend a wedding on the bank holiday back in the uk. Speaking of which, has everyone booked the flight from England? If so/not, what is the plan there?

Ugh, no Direct X version means my computer can't play it! :(

General Discussion / Re: Problems with Steam
Sun 29/05/2011 10:09:51
You do realize LucasArts is and always has been one word. This looks like a scam.

No company would be so stupid that they would sell their product on steam then go on to call that company a pirate network. I wouldn't even know how anyone would illegally access content from steam.

I would send a really polite letter to steam support saying it was irresponsible of you to post on the forums in that way.

BTW, the majority of those urls in the email are dead. Looks more like a scam now.

Always do research before you ever respond to any email like this.

Your steam account is probably hacked btw, and password changed.

Edit...

After a little research, BayTSP are a company who notoriously send emails to ISPs to forward on to you when they detect you have been illegally accessing copyright material. I've had a couple myself from them regarding TV shows I certainly did not pirate. :p

Luckily in Australia, it's against privacy laws for the isp to release those details to the studios or companies. It was tested in court and the ISP's won.

For a ruthless company like BayTSP to include major web address errors seems very unusual.

Adventure Related Talk & Chat / Re: L.A. Noire

LA noire is IMO one of the finest games produced this year. While it has it's nuances, it can be forgiven as it has some of the most believable performances ever see ln in videogames.

The main reasons many developers chose to develop for consoles was the piracy issue. Now with the current issue of losing sales to 2nd hand purchases, pc is once again looking to be a more favorable option. Ther will probably be quite a shift going on soon where more games are available on pc that in recent years.

The pun was definitely intentional!

Mark had better finish editing the BJ film from last year... I mean seriously, what is the hold up.

I think it's great. Can you add a +1 for me as my girlfriend would like to attend as well.

You have a few options, as you mentioned.

I for one would buy it. But I'd expect the first game to be a 'prologue' type of thing integrated, or have some kind of special edition with updated graphics, dialogue, etc. to reason the special name.

I don't think there is any reason not to go down this route,  as long as you get some support from someone already doing this with ags games, or you can throw it on steam. (perhaps speak to zombie cow or Dave Gilbert)

I'd also strongly encourage going for a higher resolution, but that is personal opinion.

Glad the resolution thing is being sorted out. It has been for a long time a much needed fix.

Hello fine AGS folks.

You may have heard on the news/internets that a rather devastating flood has hit Queensland and Brisbane. Fortunatly, the number of deaths cause by this disaster has been relatively low (16 at last count). Unfortunately, many people have had their homes and/or businesses destroyed.

I live in Graceville, a suburb on the south side of Brisbane. Well I lived there until the 12th of January, before floodwaters rose to levels where we had to abandon the house. We were lucky, as we made the decision to move all our internal goods to a friends house, on high ground. 614 Homes were affected by the flood in my suburb alone, making it the 5th most affected suburb in Brisbane, housing wise.

This is an event that I never believed I would be facing. I am living at a friends house until we are able to clean up thoroughly, with my parents doing the same at their friends house.

We have no flood cover on our insurance policy, as being in an area that has flooded before, even though our house is supposedly raised well above the predicted 100 year flood risk height, the insurers will not cover it. Supposedly our house should never have flooded, but we had 30cm of dirty, muddy water engulf our house.

I suppose I really just need to talk about this more, which is why I am sharing it here.

If you do feel it in your heart to donate some money to the flood appeal, you can do so here: http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html

This is a view from my driveway, just before I left my home on Wednesday morning.

For anyone else considering it, apparantly it is an excellent tablet, even recommended by game art professionals.

I like in the Robert Redford 2 thread how you specifically stated the download size. Oh the days of dial-up, each 128x300 pornographic super lossy jpg took 10 minutes to download.

Nice to see you back. :)

Me and my lady friend are also trying to plan a trip to Europe to coincide with this. Dates would be excellent.
