This is a fun shoot 'em up! I love the graphics too. And I agree with OSC,  more of this, please!

That's great, thank you very much. :)

Looking forward to playing your game!

I never finished my story, I had too many damn term papers to write... I'm definitely joining the June project though.

The second link worked for me... As a first game, it's a good effort, haven't played a lot yet though. I would suggest using a different default cursor than the "look" one, as well as using "any click on hotspot" for the menu screen. Oh, and the GUI you're using is 2ma2's verb-coin GUI, right? It would be good if you mentioned that in the readme file.

Looking forward to more games from you in the future.

Fortress of Wonders sounds fun, and a remake of Shadow of the Comet is a great idea, I loved the original but the interface almost ruined it for me. Hope you'll finish your projects soon!

This game sounds really, really interesting. And the graphics are very good. But I, along with many others, I'm sure, cannot play the game because we can't speak the language. Please consider releasing an English version!

This is a really cool game. I love the level design, well done, foz! I wouldn't really call it hard, most old-school platformers were just as hard. Can't say I've finished it though, my platforming skills ain't what they used to be. :P

Still, I hope you decide to expand on this game, after you finish MIA.

Could you perhaps tell us a bit more about your game? Or maybe post a screenshot? Plus I think you should edit the title of the topic, having a typo there is never good (referring to "hte"). :P

(edit) I just remembered this is covered in the AGS beginner's FAQ.

"Is it possible to make a game in first-person perspective, like in Traitor's Gate, Nancy Drew, and Myst?

Absolutely! For each room you create, go to the Room/Settings pane and make sure the Hide player character checkbox is selected. You don't even have to make any walking animations! And, since the Walk cursor will be disabled in every room with this feature turned on, you can simply have the player interact with an object/hotspot/etc. to change rooms. Since there's technically no use for a Walk mode, Interact will do just fine. And if you must have a Walk mode, like in Nancy Drew, then do the following.

To use a Walk mode while the character isn't visible, simply use Mode 8 (or 9 if 8 is being used) as your Walk mode. Name it "Move to" or something like that, give it the Walk cursor, and in the Sierra toolbar GUI, make the Walk cursor change to Mode 8, instead of Mode 0."

There you go.

Yeah that's true, I figured that out on my own a while ago while playing another game :P. I was referring to something using the StartCutscence command, but it's no biggie.

Wow, excellent game, guys! Love the graphics, the use of Miles Davis' music, and the overall atmosphere. The puzzles are smart, too. The GUIs are great too, I'd love it if you had made your game open-source, but I respect your decision not to.

One small comment though, it'd be better if you made the introduction skip-able, since it's kinda lengthy. Otherwise, it's definitely one of the best MAGS games I've played!

QuoteIf you still can't make game, your unworthy of using AGS, i.m.h.o.

That's a bit rude, don't you think? I don't think they should adjust the rules, rules are rules. Maybe you should have read them a bit more carefully.

I also think that it's better just to make your own. For tutorials, you can check out this thread:

There's also another one but I can't seem to find it...

Whenever you want to have two versions of windows, it's always better to install the oldest one first. Trust me on this.

I don't really remember the specifics, but I had Win98, and then installed XP Pro on a different partition. When installing XP, I chose to keep my old OS (that would be 98), and then XP created its own boot menu, allowing me to choose between 98 and XP.

Doesnt' Win2000 use NTFS anyway?

I really like this idea! It'd work better in really long games, or maybe in the ones that rely heavily on their storylines, but it's a good idea nonetheless.

They've kinda done that already in Metal Gear Solid by the way, every time you loaded a game you'd get a text-only plot synopsis up to that point. But who needs originality anyway :P, by all means do try it!

This is about writing a stand-alone story, nothing to do with games, it's explained in the second and third lines of the original post.

I have one word to say about the concept of your game: Wow. Seriously, I love it! Mainly because you're trying to do something different than the same old, and that's great!

I'm not the one to comment on graphics, so I'll just say that those screens you posted look really good.

It is an interesting topic, but people might be preoccupied with other things, finals are coming up and everything. I'll try to write something if I have the time, I already have an idea of what I'm gonna write.
