It's not that difficult, once you get used to the game... IMO at least. Plus even if the game ends in a draw, you still "win".

Either King's Quest 1 remake, or Norman Cooks, though it was probably KQ. I remember finding both those games in a cd that came along with a Greek mag.

Whichever the game was, they introduced me to AGS, and I started thinking about making my own game. One year and several cancelled projects later, I still haven't finished a game, but oh well. :P

(edit) Where is my mind?
I forgot to mention that the fact that Norman Cooks was created by a Greek guy kind of affected me, I think. The idea of a community which had members of my country sounded more appealing, I guess.

I think this is good news, while it does seem a bit out of the blue. I've actually never played the first BASS for more than 15 minutes, I've downloaded a copy ever since it was released as freeware, but it's just sitting there in my hd.  Don't ask why I haven't played it, I dunno. :P

Still, I'm kinda looking forward to this, it's nice to have a "big name" game to look forward to, now that Sam & Max 2 was cancelled.

Great news! I remember playing the demo years ago, but I never got around to buying it. And there's a talkie version too? Whoo-hoo, I'm there! Thank god for the 1Mb connection at my uni.

I've always liked the AGDzine, and I love the new design! I think it would be very useful, both as a developers resource, and as an ezine that covers news.

I love all three, but the first one is the most interesting. Could you show us the main characters? It would be interesting to see 'em.

Well that sucks.  I can understand cancelling FT2 'cuz that looked horrible, but Sam and Max? Idiots...

Yay coolness, Garfield's here! I played the demo a long time ago and have been waiting for it ever since! I'm downloading it now, should take... a while, stoopid 56k.

Sacriledge!!! :P

+1 for loominus

Yep, you can listen to it in Winamp 5 without the need for any plugins. And it's lovely, btw! I love how it turns darker and moodier as time passes.

Count me in! I haven't played chess in a while but I want to take part in this anyway.

Nevermind. I found the other thread about 5 days a stranger, even though when I tried the search function nothing came up. Maybe I'm just too damn sleepy for my own good. :P

In any case, this thread is no longer of any use, so please delete it. Sorry

That really is cute! Seems funny and refreshing. Hope you'll finish it soon!

Try http://atticwindow.adventuredevelopers.com/gac.php?cmd=download&id=11

(Edit)

You might also want to know that SQ had two sequels which were just as great as the first one. :P

Go to http://atticwindow.adventuredevelopers.com if you're interested (and why shouldn't you be? :P)

(2nd Edit)
Oops, yeah, AGA is right. Dunno where that www came from.

This game is friggin' hilarious! I've played quite a bit and found it very funny and refreshing. Though now that the speech pack is out, I'm gonna download that and then start playing again 'cuz it should be even more hilarious with it. :P Too bad it's gonna be a while since I'm on dial-up.

Cool, a fellow English major! Trust me, I'll always be delighted to help with the beta-testing of a game which features dear ol' Humsky. :D

And as Bionic Bill said, don't worry about satisfying expectations, I'm sure your game will deliver. I'd say more on this but Bill phrased it perfectly already. :P

General Discussion / Re:Deep thoughts

Y' know, the fact that he's in a wheelchair has probably played a part in his being such a brilliant thinker, I mean, there's not a whole lot other things he can do besides think.

Hmm, maybe that sounds a bit too cynical. Anyways, to answer your first question Haddas, the universe will probably end, because of entropy - everything goes into disorder. That's not to say that the universe might go into another Big Bang, it might expand too much and then collapse unto itself, that's another theory that's kinda popular.

I have several wacky thoughts (I'm a philosophy minor, so you could say I'm supposed to have 'em :P), but right now I'm kinda bored, so I'll share later. :P

(Edit)
I just saw your post Kairus, and thought I'd answer, and perhaps save you from depression :P. Death doesn't have to be the ultimate form of pain, maybe it is a release, maybe a transitional phase to a completely different state of being than the one we're currently experiencing. And this kind of reminds me of Jacob's Ladder and the quote they used in the end, I think it was from Voltaire. That in the moment of your death, if you don't accept your fate, you are plagued by demons (figuratively speaking. Probably) and are in lot of pain, not unlike what you said. But if you do accept your fate, then the demons turn into angels and release you from your burden. So it's just about not fearing death.

Is this making any sense? No? Thought as much. :P

Nice. I like the graphics, they're stylish, and the story sounds quite interesting as well. One thing I'm not so sure though is the hero's name, Sir Frank doesn't sound very heroic to me, sorry. :P

Otherwise, everything looks good so far, hope you'll release a demo soon.

For me it's the song "Illuminating" by The Gathering.
