You can find a tutorial at http://atticwindow.adventuredevelopers.com just go to the tutorials section.

That tutorial is missing some bits, so for help check these threads:

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=14684.0
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=11790.0

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=10095.0

And there's another thread, which deals with the Save/Load GUI found in the BlueGUI, but I can't find it right now... BlueGUI can be found here: http://www.gaia-spa.com/blusoft/Download/download.html

Given the way they'll playing right now, I doubt the Dutch will make it. C'mon Dick (heh), get Makaay in the damn match already! I can believe he's not using Van Nistelrooy and Makaay together. By the way, is it me or is this game kinda boring?

I don't think Greece'll get through, but hell, I've been saying that for the whole thread now, so I dunno. :P It's just a good thing that the Czechs are now like the big favorites to win the Euro, so we're the underdogs again. So we'll see.

(edit)

Oh hey, Makaay was in but I didn't notice him. Guess he's playing just as bad as everyone else. And it's pretty much over now, Portugal is in the final.

(2nd edit)

Haha, as soon as I pressed "Save", that defender scored an own goal. And now Van Nist almost equalled it. Forget what I said about a boring game!

If I remember correctly, I first read about it in an EGM article. I visited the website but didn't download it, for some reason. At some point last year, and after playing some games such as the King's Quest remakes, I decided to download it after all. I think the first version I downloaded was 2.54.

Sorry for unearthing this thread, but I figured it's better than starting a whole new one. Anyways, to the point: I've gotten the surfboard back, payed $100 to the competition guy and my items are: the radio (without the batteries), the paper with the number on it, the rope, and a bottle of degenterent (or whatever), which I took just for the heck of it. What should I do next?

General Discussion / Re: Beard and long hair!

I've long hair, around shoulder length (used to be quite longer, but then I decided to cut them). Depending on the mood, I leave a small beard every now and then, mostly then than now, though.

I'm impressed at how fast you released the second part, congrats! And to think that I haven't finished the first part yet... Ah well. I played a bit of part 2, love the music so far!

Os: Anyone can make a typo, no need to be mean. :P

QuoteAnd since nobody will probably get this, the text is actually Latinized quotes from Dante's Inferno.

Damn, I should have seen that coming!

Thanks Sluggo, I always find it interesting to learn what the inspiration was behind games such as yours (whoa... bad English alert). And Dada came to mind while I was playing your game, this probably happened because both games are pretty unique, especially by AGS standards.

By the way, I'm guessing things don't really corrode in Hell, as the laws of our universe probably don't work there, but let's not nitpick here. :P

Love the nightmare idea! It's very clever. I sent you a PM, Gord.

Great job! The game is very fun. Congrats! Toadie was an interesting choice of a character too. :P

Hope you'll make a sequel which will have more mini-games (I, too felt that it could have some more), multiple paths sound cool too.

General Discussion / Re: dvd backup software

Honestly? I've no idea.  As I said, the sound files (in .AC3 format) are almost always inside the .VOB files, whenever you rip the vob files, you get the ac3 files as well, unless you use specific software to rip the ac3 files on their own. Or at least that's what usually happens.

Try DVD Shrink as DG suggested, and if that doesn't work, use DVD Encrypter or SmartRipper and check the settings a bit more carefully... SmartRipper has a pretty easy GUI so you probably won't have problems with it.

The sound is usually inside the .VOB files that can be found in the VIDEO_TS directory. JACKET_P? Never seen a directory like that in any DVD, and I've seen quite a few. Which DVD is it?

DVD decrypter is the best ripper at the moment... You can also try SmartRipper though, which is also good, and see what results you get with that.

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Holy shiat! I guess miracles do happen! Praise the Great Goddess! And while I'm not exactly partial, I think that this was our best match yet, and the French did almost nothing.

To all the Greeks who live in Athens: Oloi Omonoia!

Normally a foul is like that, yeah. But there's an exception to that rule in the case of the goalkeeper inside the small box. In that case, any contact between an attacking player and the goalkeeper of the opposing side is an offensive foul, no matter what the intent.

Anyway, let's not fill this thread with football rules, let's talk about the actual matches again. :P

In Greece it's:

100 - Police
166 - Medical Emergencies

and I keep forgetting the Firefighers one, hope I won't have to use it soon :P. And both numbers are dialable when your cell's keypad is locked.

QuoteI just saw it again, i swear Terry was not making any major contact (ie something to stop him jumping) before the ball had crossed the line

Did you see it through the camera behind the goal? Through that one, you can clearly see that Terry is holding him down, and if I recall correctly, he does that before Campbell does the header. Plus, anytime a player even so much as touches the goalie inside the small box is a foul.

QuoteI hate it when players start their run and then stop when shooting a penalty. This is not allowed

Is that an official rule? I didn't know that. But you know, goalkeepers are supposed to stand exactly on the goal line and not move until the other player shoots, but no one keeps that either.

You can find it at the Home of the Underdogs (http://www.the-underdogs.org). Just search for it under the adventures section. It's really worth playing, one of the best AGS games, IMO.

Ultimo: They called it "Freeware" games pack, and yet you still had to pay for it? Isn't that an oxymoron? :P. Though I guess you were paying for stuff like the actual package and booklet that came with it, but still.

Hmm, I saw the dissalowed goal again, and I'm pretty sure it's a foul. Terry is holding the keeper down, and that's always a foul.

Dodgy penalty spots are not much of an excuse :P Beckham should have noticed it, and many other shots were pretty poor by any standards. It's just weird that England always does so bad at shoot-outs. Does anyone remember if they have ever won?

Campbell's goal looked like a foul to me. And what is it with English players and penalty shoot-outs? Beckham's shot was one of the worst one's I've ever seen. Plus Ricardo could have saved more if he had been a bit more careful.

Greece Vs. France tomorrow... I guess we'll find out if miracles still happen.

10 songs, now that's difficult, my fave song lists changes so often, depending on my mood, the time of the year and so on... I'll give it a try though. In no particular order, besides the first song:

1) Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
* The Pixies - Where is my mind?
* Deep Purple - Child in Time
* Paradise Lost - Enchantment
* Placebo - Without you I'm nothing (meh :P)
* Bob Dylan - Blowing in the wind

* Pink Floyd - Wish you were here
* Metallica - Fade to Black
* The Gathering - Travel
