Haha, Germany couldn't even get a draw against Czech Rep. B. I was dissapointed by Latvia's performance, I never expected them to win, but they played really poorly.

I heard rumors that Trap is gonna be fired and Marcelo Lippi will take his place, yay!

Ugh, somebody please shoot Trapattoni (sp?). This ain't the 1960's old fart, learn to adjust to the times or stop managing teams. I'm glad I didn't watch the match (I chose a rock concert over it), but just learning that Italy couldn't even defeat Bulgaria until the very last minute is just annoying. Even though I always support Italy, in this case I say good riddance. Though I'm almost certain that everyone in Italy is gonna blame the Scandinavians and say that they agreed to drew so they'd leave Italy out. Hell, it's already happening in Greece :P. The truth is, Trap is the only reason why Italy was disqualified, just fire him already.

Farlander: Good point, I guess I never looked past the big-name players of the Spanish squad.

Primus: Haha, Portugese people sound a lot like Greeks! I still think you'll defeat the English though, your team keeps getting better with every match.

Farlander: It's just funny that Greece (a team that only plays defensively) goes through the group phase because they scored more goals than Spain, a team that's renowned for their offensive capabilities.

So France - Greece and Portugal - England huh? Go Portugal!

By the way, it's a pity that we won't see the lovely Miss Bulgaria again, after Bulgaria play their last match for the Euro tomorrow. :P

Haha, I have troubles accepting that we qualified over Spain because we had a better offense. If there ever was a sign of the upcoming apocalypse, that's gotta be it. :P

Bring us France!!!!  ;D

(edit) Forgot to say this: Yesterday's match showed why Greeks need to be the underdogs. When we are the underdogs, we have to play our best to prove ourselves, it's an ego thing. When we're the favorites, we start getting into weird headtrips of how we're either not good enough to be the favorites, or how we're so good we don't even need to play in order to win. Go figure :P. That's why I hope we don't play against Croatia in the quarter finals.

By the way, this is kinda late, but I'm really glad the Czechs won, especially given the way they won, since they were robbed in their 2000 match against Holland.

This game is definitely interesting, I like how it's different to most AGS games. Hell, it's different than most games, period. The music was great, and the graphics were quite good as well.

May I ask what the inspiration behind this game was? And why Latin especially? One complaint about your game has to do with the fact that the latin text was sometimes blurry, so it was difficult to read. Combine that with my somewhat limited knowledge of Latin and you've got one confused person. :P I'll replay it using those translators, hopefully I'll understand more about the game.

All in all, I enjoyed your game, it'd be cool if you released similar games in the future. ^_^

(edit)
Forgot to say, that's an interesting quiz you posted, heh. I only made it to the 5th level of hell. :P

I had that problem with the left click too, that was a clever way of getting around it! Although I've no idea why that happens when you're hiding the player character in a room. Any ideas why this happens, anyone?

Go Greece!! Whoo hoo!!! I never expected that they'd play so well. Today we were kinda lucky, it has to be said. As Barcik said, Spain is a better team than Portugal (plus one of the key players of that match, Basinas, wasn't playing today) and that's why Greece didn't seem quite as ready this time, but I'm amazed by how well we played. Again, I bow before Herr Otto! It seems that we might even pass through the group phase, especially if Portugal defeats Russia tonight.

QuoteAlso, the goalscorer, Charisteas, seems like an excellent B level striker.

He's ok, but nothing spectacular, even for a B-level striker. Watch out for another striker, Papadopoulos, he hasn't played yet, but if he does, I'm pretty sure he'll make an impact.

QuoteI heard Greece was one of the best in its group.
As far as quality is concerned, Greece is the worst team in the group. But we have a good "team", and a good defense overall, which helps our style of play.

Generally, though, I can't say I've liked this competition so far... Most games have been pretty boring. Here's hoping we'll see better matches after the group phase is over.

You're in luck, someone has made one already. Go to this site:

and scroll down a bit, you'll find a template there.

1) I don't really mind either way. I remember reading in your interview with the Inventory that every day will be able to stand on its own, and would have a cliffhanger ending, so I definitely wouldn't mind if Shadowplay was released in episodes.  Plus that'd mean that I'd get to play at least a part of the game faster, and that's a good thing! ^_^

2) I have to say that you should use the 640x480 resolution. 320x200 just wouldn't do justice to your style, IMO.

1. Street Fighter 2 Turbo
2. Monkey Island 1
3. Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis
4. King of Fighters '95
5. Samurai Shodown 4

Yeah, I'm something of a fighting game buff.

Yay, I've been really waiting for this! Thank you again for translating the game. I'm downloading it now, it should take a while since I'm on dial-up. Ah well.

Whoo hoo!!! I never thought we'd win this game! I was hoping for a good performance, but never for a win! Although, in all honesty, I was kinda hoping the Portugese'd play this bad, it's like the curse of the opening match (France Vs Senegal, Argentina Vs Cameroon etc). Oh and forgive me but Greeks don't have very limited talent :P It's true that Greek players aren't as talented as some other European players (though we have some really talented ones), but it's not talent they lack, it's organization and teamwork. Which is something that Herr Otto has brought to the team

*Lazy Z bows*

I'm still sceptical about Greece passing through the group phase, and I'm pretty certain that Portugal will make it through, they are the hosts after all, they always get a slight "push", if you know what I mean. Though Mr. Scholari needs to organize his team better, because his tactics were abysmal today. Not that I mind, of course. :P

I read those a while ago on a different forum. Some are classics, like the rhino one.

Sad indeed...  :'(
I regret never seeing him play live, even though I had the chance... RIP, Ray.

That screenshot is simply breathtaking! And the music theme is really good too. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying making this game, since more often than not, that means that the game will be enjoyable to play. ^_^

Just a note, if I remember correctly you need Winamp 5 in order to play .ogg files, or a plugin if you're using an earlier version. This was brought up in another thread, I think the Shadowplay one, and people were having problems with the .ogg format.

I pretty much agree with what everybody has said already, but I'd like to add this: Try to find a story/setting that you like, something that you find interesting. If you don't find it interesting, chances are others won't find it either. It doesn't matter if it's not too original, nothing ever is anymore! Just put your own personal twist in it. You could also have the story deal with a theme that you're interested in, like friendship, mortality, taxes etc, and incorporate that in your story, that will make it more personal and interesting.

Just my two cents, hope I've been of assistance!

I'd like to see Greece doing well, but I don't think it's really possible given the group we're in. Still, as long as we avoid getting ridiculed like in the '94 World Cup, I'll be satisfied.

Generally, I think the French will win it if they play as well as they've been playing lately. Other teams which I think that will probably do well are the Czechs (if Nedved is in a good form), the Portugese (they are hosting the tournament, those teams usually do well, plus they also have the talent necessary to do so) and the Italians and Germans, simply because they usually do well in such tournaments, even when things aren't looking good for them.

Well, as Ginny suggested, moving the GTD threads to that board would be a good idea, even if they're not quite as popular are some other threads, at least as far as posts are concerned. They deal with some interesting issues, and they could be helpful for everyone who wants to make a game.
