Messages - Leisure Suit Harry

Dear all,

in 2012 I have released the first part of the retro stylish (320x200 EGA graphics, AGI fonts...) unofficial Space-Quest prequel "Decisions of the Elders" with its protagonist Jerry Wilco (yes, Roger's father) and not just him...

Part 2 followed last year.
Now, finally, after years of AGS-studying, drawing, scripting and song composing the release of the entire game (all parts 1 - 3) is close (planned before summer this year).

See below 2 appetizers:

It's getting crazy again!
Can't wait to provide the entire game to you...

I just want to inform all the people who have played the first 2 parts of "Decisions of the Elders - Space Quest minus 1" (released in 2013):
I have finally started the production of the final part 3. Fortunately Patrick is helping me with the background pics.

In the final part you will learn where Roger Wilco's jetpack (SQ I) is from and that cow dung can be your friend when you are on a worm hunt.
Furthermore you will slip into the role of Julia and make the acquaintance of the SIA - Sarien Intelligence Agency.

I am already excited

Hi all.

A complete walkthrough ist now available:

http://www.tonundtext.at/downloads/WalkthroughDOTE.pdf

I advise against using it! If you play around you will get hints and funny responses at the very least. But since some puzzles are indeed difficult, before you get really frustrated check out the walkthrough.

Have fun - Harry (aka Boston)

I have recently released PART 2 of the game.
The game (consisting of part 1 and the new part 2) can be downloaded at:
http://www.tonundtext.at/downloads/SQ_DOTE2.zip

The beta testers managed to solve the puzzles without help. The puzzles are hard but if you take the time to read the hints you will solve them.

If not, you can ask me. Or, even better, maybe LEON has mercy and extends the wonderful walkthrough of part 1 :)

Gratz on this release Harald!

Now go work on the 3rth chapter! ;)

Well, my boss says something else, Arj0n. And by that I don't even mean my wife...
On the other hand, I would have some nice ideas for the finale:)

Dear friends of the good old adventure game,

"Decisions of the Elders" is an unofficial prequel of the legendary Space-Quest series with Roger's father, Jerry, as the main character who is looking for his lost bride, Julia.

It's a retro game with AGI-like pictures and fonts, but SCI like control and piano music in ogg-format.

If you loved the old Sierra adventures there's a really good chance for you to like this game!

In 2012 I have released chapter 1 of the plot.
Now I have extended the first chapter, improved a few details (according to the players' feedback) and added a second chapter. DOTE is now a medium-length game (about 20 playable rooms) with difficult puzzles and lots of fun. You must be a very experienced player if you wanna rush through the game within 2 hours!

Whether I will produce the final chapter 3 or focus on my real life will depend on your feedback...

The game is in the AGS games database. The download consists of the full part 1 and part 2. -->  If you are one of the several hundred people who already played part 1 you will have to spend a few minutes in order to get to the new part...

Download the brand-new game here:

And now, have fun!

Yours Boston (aka Leisure Suit Harry)

Dear fellow adventurers,

I am happy to tell you that this game is now in beta test status!

Thanks, sthomannch, I have corrected the link.
And you are perfectly right about the map. Yes, it's not that difficult. Depends on where you live...
#51
Adding some King's Quest 3 feeling to the Space Quest 2 style and atmosphere. Please see another snapshot from the game currently in production.
Can someone guess the country/state on the map?

Thank you so much for this feedback, LEON!
I will definitely correct the typos and try to remove some "you're not close enough' statements.

I'm sorry, Itcolonel97062, that the difficulty level of DOTE made you curse. I assure you that I had my game beta-tested before I released anything. To speak frankly: I meant to challenge the players! I certainly could have provided a walkthrough. But let's be honest: The real gaming-satisfaction comes from solving a tough puzzle without a hint-book. I tried to place the hints within the game. I can imagine though, what made the cave difficult for you and consider implementing a slight hint within the game before I release part 2.
Yes, I am not going to abandon the game. PArt 2 is progressing. I will complete it in the near future.
All puzzles have been done though. And I can tell you (yes, this is a heads up, folks) it's not getting any less difficult! (And least that's what I hope, my beta-testers may prove me wrong).

Neeeeeeeeever give up!

Looking forward to providing you with the full length "Decision of the Elders"

Are both of these actually "in game" screenshots (as the rules require)?  I see no player character (or npcs) or any cursors, guis, etc.

Also, are both of these from the game you're announcing?  Please review the rules of this board and update your post as required!

I have updated the pics. They are now "in game" screenshot. Yes, since the complete game will cover all chapters all pics are from the game I'm announcing.

Dear adventurers,

in January last year I have finished (and uploaded) the first part of "Decisions of the Elders" - an unofficial Space Quest prequel.
A retro-stylish adventure (AGI-like pics) - best to be compared to space quest 2.

Meanwhile I have extended the first part and therefore completed chapter 1 "Rays of Hope".
Downloadable at: http://www.tonundtext.at/downloads/DOTE1_1.zip
This is one of the pics in this chapter 1:

With some help from overseas I am now producing the next chapter in order to make this a full length game (several hours of playing time and much much fun).
Have you ever heard of the mysterious Heart'n'Fart 66?
Anyway, this is a brandnew pic from the second chapter "Physics lesson":

Working hard to complete this game in the near future.

You can still download part 1 of the game. If you think you have already played it, this is an extended version :-)

Enjoy!

Hi folks,

I am working on a full length version of "Decision of the Elders" - an unoffical Space Quest prequel.
You may have played the first rooms (so-called "part 1") of the game. If you liked it you will love the full game. I am working hard on its production. And this time I have some help from overseas.
Take a look at this teasing image:

I can tell you 3 things already: This game is not going to be a piece of cake (at least 2 hours playing time if you are good), you're gonna laugh a lot and you will get acquainted with a Heart'n'Fart 66...

Almost one year has passed since the release of the first part of this game.
In the meanwhile I have added 2 more rooms with lots of new puzzles. I am not sure if I should already upload an extended version of this part 1 or wait for the game to be completed - which might be years away from now.
Problem being: I still spend too much time on drawing. Maybe someone wants to assist me in drawing the backgrounds...

Happy New Year everybody!!

Yours Harry (aka Boston McShew)

You can also find the game on my recently finalized website for my newly setup business: www.tonundtext.at
Don't get scared by the German site. The game is in English.

Hi itcolonel,
as a matter of fact I had an email-chat with Chad Goulding years ago to thank him for Time Quest which I enjoyed a lot.
The plot of Decisions of the Elders is designed in a way that I can add more chapters. At the moment though I don't have the time (setting up my own business, starting a new job...) but I do hope to be able to continue once...
I think I won't provide a wakthrough. I leave this to the players  ;)
All the best - LSH
