Hints & Tips / Re: A pirates tale!

The dungeon: go north at the townsquare and turn right at the tourist information and then keep walking to the right. There are three caves (did I say dungeon?). Since you've got all star shapes you must have been there. To open the rock, look in the cave on the left. In the back (where you used the cane) you can read a hint.

If that doesn't work out here's the solution:

Spoiler
Statues in the middle cave from left to right: up, down and middle, so use the right statue once and the left statue twice.

Is it me or is debug mode still on? Keys are disabled alright but when I press ~ I still see all debug info.

My costume is ready but I have a huge problem finding
Spoiler
the scythe. I know it has to be in the bedroom, under something but.... where? I can't find any indication of where to look.

At first I also had some trouble finding the kitchen. I didn't expect another room there. I would make more sense if there would be one on the other side, next to the TV (graphics-wise that is).

I don't have any problems with this link. The one mentioned in the post doesn't work for me either. Maybe you have more success with  this page?

You really need some help for the lighthouse:

Spoiler
Go to the dungeon and give o'Malley her picture. She'll help you to access the lighthouse.

Don't worry about jail. You'll end up there anyway at some point. Untill then: behave! :-)

Nice one. Good puzzle, funny dialogs. Sometimes bit difficult to read though. The hand-icon is also somewhat 'clumsy' to operate. But maybe that suits the character :-)

The 'undo' is amazing since I hardly ever save my games. Well done!

The music is also very contributing to the medieval atmosphere. Good job! My first thought was a clone of Damsel but it's certainly not.

Alright,

The keys can be found with Bob and Dave (and the monkey). You should prove to them that the captain trusts you. To do that...
Spoiler
...show them the trophy shield you can find on the cabinet on the ship in the room before entering the captain's cabin, in which you can also find the wine as soon as you have the key.

Oooh... nice! Bit late for halloween but who cares. Nice graphics. Crisp and clear. But I'm not really to the cola yet. The can is open, I just can't drink it yet  ;D

I crashed the game:

Error: prepare_script: error -18 (no such function in script) trying to run 'hDVDs_UseInv' (Room 1)

while using any item on the DVD's in your bedroom.

Riiight.... interesting one.

Trying to play it, I'm getting a bit annoyed by using door and just walking through, items that aren't there visibly but can be picked up and items you can pick up but visibly don't disappear.

Besides, in the living room there are two exits on the south. The one on the left should be the hallway, the one on the right the TV room. But, using the right one with the key, goes to the TV room, using the right one withou, goes to the hallway.  ???

Then I picked up a few items along the way. I'm in a motel and I picked up a key. I need to use it but can't find it in my inventory. There's no way to scroll through the inventory?

Until there's an update I'm leaving this one as unsolvable. The inventory can only hold 8 items. You need the towel, iron and remote to get to the casino. I've tried several ways of collecting keys but can not find a way to use the sixth key. I got as far as the Parakkian cell but couldn't take any inventory needed here. Another dead end.

There aren't any dead ends (afik) so you shouldn't have to start again. The wine can be found at the ship. Talk to the captain (or me  ;D ) to find out where to find the key.

Good to hear. Still I think it's a shame that you took it offline. Like said, you can't please everybody and you're entitled to your opinion. If you get insults then I think it says more about that person then about your work. I was in no way offended by it.

Maybe we see the game again in a revised version in the future?

Take care.

I'm not worried. It's just that, like I said, it's easy giving (negative) comment on something that you're not related to. If someone puts every effort into his/her work and gets negative comments, it can be hard. To be expected but still hard. And sure, if you don't want that, you  should publish. Besides, you can't please every one.

I recently played Zombietown and according to the readme the creator was very pleased with the result...  ::) I'm sure he was.

You're right that it's his second game. I never made the connection between Nergal/Akkad and QM/EMBF. I've played QM and was very impressed with that one. Then it surprises (or disappoints if you will) me even more that this is the result.

[edit] Let's just wait for Nergal to see what the reason was  :) I remember more cases where games were withdrawn because of personal reasons/opinions.

Looks like you still need some items. The shop will also accept you bottle of wine. You eventually need 3 star shaped rocks and 1 moon stone.

What??? And what about my walkthrough? All for nothing?  ;)
I hope it wasn't because of the comments I made. I always have a lot of things to nag about games but I also have a huge respect for all you game makers. I've never made one so it's easy for me to nag about something.

Besides, it's always easier to say something negative than positive. Nevertheless: I loved the graphics and music and it had a good atmosphere. For a first release very well done. Believe me, I've seen much much much worse (and I've seen a lot by now).

Hope to see a new one soon and this one is at least saved in my personal archive  :)

Are you sure you're talking about the Fairy dust and not the Star dust?

Spoiler
The fairy dust can be found in the cabinet next to Herman

Congratulations.
Looking good. Nice to get in the Christmas spirit already.  :D

Let you know my findings when finished.

[update] And that was in about 5 minutes. Obvious puzzles but very well presented. Solid game!

Just wondering.... (since I have to moan about something...  ;) )

Spoiler

- You can't use the candle on the logs to light the fireplace.
- You can use the liquor bottle on the sink, but it won't fill up
- You can't close the winecellar
- You can't use the liquor on yourself.... (I was wondering what effect alcohol would have on a ball...  ;D )

Dude I've set the magnetic field like you said, but nothing happened to the robot when I led him to the cpatain's quarters.

What am I missing?

Then probably you didn't:
Spoiler

Show him (Kohen) the block spray and he tell you how it can be used (4/89).

From the WT:

Spoiler
Use the radioactivity block spray module on the right side of the dashboard (10/145). Then use the keyboard to set to destination coordinates.
[close]

The only confusion I can see is the mixup of your physical keyboard and the one in your shuttle. In this case it's the shuttle.

So I changed

Spoiler
Use the radioactivity block spray module on the right side of the dashboard (10/145). Then use the keyboard to set to destination coordinates.

into:

Use the radioactivity block spray module on the right side of the dashboard (10/145). Then use the keyboard on the left in your shuttle to set to destination coordinates.

I'm not sure what you mean here. You can't find the books anymore after a restart? Is that a restart within the game (like F9) or by restarting the application?
