Hints & Tips / Re: The Uncertainty Machine

That's not the problem.
Spoiler
The syringe is filled. I'm already hiding behind the left pillar. But as soon as I use it on Pete, he's greeting me (What are you doing there, how did you get in etc.)  As soon as I want to step away I get: no, he might see you...
btw, I filled the syringe while hiding behind the pillar...

The black hat can be found in the house of Don Crosta. You need to talk to him in prison next to Janna's cave.

[edit] Just tried but I really don't have an entry to the tunnel. Not from the fountain, not from the bus stop.  From which screen did you take the left? Lower left of the busstop is the monument, lowerleft of the fountain is coal shop.

Oops... I encountered a dead end and ... since I didn't know how to save, I have to start all over again  :'(

@Desi: do you happen to have a save game from around the start of day 2? I was entering Pete's house, had to hide and now
Spoiler
that I'm hidden behind the pillar I need to attack him. But putting the vial in the syringe inside the house is appearantly not a good idea. I have a lethal weapon but using it on Pete gives me "Hey, what you're doing there Susan" and a bit of conversation between the two. Nothing else. Trying to walk away gives me "I can't move from here or Peter will see me."

I don't want to start all over again so if you can help me out here ...  :)

I was working on one... but now that I reload my saved game I remember being stuck in a conversation that you can't get out of. I never was able to finish this one...  :-[

If you walk in there with all the needed stuff in your posession, it should go automatically. If not, there's still something missing.

Have you been back to the living room in the house where you found the letters? A new person will make his entrance.

Not really. That's either scene of the crash or monument...  ???
For some reason the cursor doesn't reach till the edge of the screen on thre right. The left isn't a problem. (Also in full screen mode).

Speaking of which.... you reach the tunnel to the right of the fountain, right? Why is the hotspot gone there?

With boxes you mean briefcases?

Spoiler
Did you open them? Then you should have read the letter. If so, return to the lady, if not, find the letters :-)

Nice one. Good humor. Good graphics, funny effects.

I didn't like the repeatingly actions though. Twice should be enough. And a manual near the C64 would be nice as well... or at least a way to get the basic commands....? It's that I happen to know the commands but if you don't.. :-(

But... finish the game please.... I'd like to see what's on the 3rd level and in the basement ;-)

[edit]
Perhaps you could post some screenshots here so people know what it looks like?

Congrats!
Another cool game. Graphics again perfect, humor enough and great puzzles.

[update]
Found a small bug..
Spoiler
Using the rock (which has no mouse-over) on the cigarettes make the mouse pointer disappear leaving the game unplayable..

Thanks Paolo....

A warning though: (I'm a bit puzzled here).

I started the new version, loaded my saved game and guess what? No spirit level.
I started a new game, went straight to grandpa and it's clearly visible there.

At least it works now, but, although your save games will work, don't be fooled. At least I have to start all over again... [sigh]

Good thing I wrote a walkthrough...  ;D

Oooh... I love the way the dialogs look.. Now there's also a good difference between characters and narator. Way to go... but.... (must there alwasy be something to nag about? ;-)

You skip text by using keys. Not only enter, also the cursor. So when you try to walk during a naration or dialog, the text speeds by without being able to read, so:

- Can you skip text only with ENTER? All other keys stay as they are.
- The combat is now more difficult? I harldy seem to hit anyone/thing...
- The sound of the zombie slashing doesn't stop even after I'm dead (I had this once, in combination with using the spacebar in 'mouse-mode'. Can't reproduce it at the moment.)
- When I say LOOK GUN, I get, there's nothing to look at. It would be nice if I'd get the instructions again?
- After a restart of the game (from the menu), I don't get the warning message anymore in the room with the two zombies about acting fast.

I hope you're not discouraged by all this. I still like the game  :D

Man, do I feel stupid....
To be sure, I downloaded the link above (the game) again to be sure I had the most recent one. That one also gives me this message.

What spirit level?  ;)

Is there a difference between the ITA and the ENG version? I'm playing the most recent version.

You can press Tab to hide the inventory and Tab again to show it again. Indeed, for some puzzles, it's helpful or necessary to see what is at the top of the screen.

I noticed that after I saved the game and the bar was gone... ? But the TAB does the trick indeed.

Do you mean where Captain Fortune (the leprechaun player character) asks him about his swearing?

No, talking to Pino in the studio, ask to talk about something else, then ask about his shampoo.
Pino: You have to put your head in tar for 2 nights.
Captain: "..."
Pino: Then spend the first [..] than the hills.
Captain: "..."

Hm, I'm not sure what you mean. Could you post a screenshot?

I'm writing the walkthrough as I play, I must say, it will be quite an epic.

Paolo: how do you get the spirit level? That annoying statusbar is in the way.
