Hints & Tips / Re: Epic Adventures of Barry

Well.. you've got your ingredients list for something special... right?
Spoiler
In the room on the left you can find a chemical list. Look at the one (eye icon) that's on your ingredient list.
Go to the lab on the right and mix the chemicals...
Then use it in the lab thingy in the middle to put the ingredient in.

[edit]Steps slightly altered to make it even easier.

And finally..... there we go...

Yeah, but it's epic. I mean... it's an epic adventure ;-)
Almost done. If there are questions in the mean time, just ask.

Yep. Getting caught by Robbie.

I you just copy the text below Code:, save it to a text file, put it in the same folder as the game and then name it acsetup.cfg. If you have extensions hidden, it might automatically add .txt at the end so remove that manually then.

You might also want to try and run the dos versions of them in a DOS-BOX like environment.

The correct values for the axis have to be:
Spoiler
X:7, Y:5, Z:6

Also, playing in hard mode make the puzzle easier because it's not reset after each check and you can continue to 'try and error' on the same circuit.

@ProgZ: I'd change the reset after each check option to the hard mode and switch that with what's now in hard mode for above mentioned reason.

I'm currently playing it, it looks awesome so far, my sole complain is the game deceptively make you believe you can save on more than one slot but actually overwrite the same slot.

But you can. Just give the entry a new name and it will become a new slot. You'll only see the first one because it's white text. The others are black text on a black background. The sliders are also in black so...
Just click to the left of the red vertical line on the right. You'll see more entries.

Johnny Rockett

:o :o Look at topic, look at game title...  ???

This looks great. Downloading now... further comments later.

[update]
Great graphics. Good dialogs and loads of interactions. Great stuff! The font size could have been a bit smaller, the dialogs not all in uppercase, some typos but other than that, well done!
More soon!

Love this game! Another note: while restoring a game, you can't see the black text on a black background.....
And if you want to remove the textual errors and typos, just PM me.

Ahh.... I just crashed the game!
While re-entering the cargo room where the bot was and trying to select the crate:

in "room8.asc", line 15
Error: MoveCharacter: Character not in current room

Finished. Short, but sweet. The end is a bit sudden and cuts the story (very) short. But potential for a much longer version. Keep it up!

btw, In the end line, Johnny is called Rockett, instead of Rocket.

If you recreate the image ProgZ has posted, you should get the value of 7. If you don't use the circuit at all, but only the blue and the yellow, the value of the X-axis changes anyway. So the 'default' you're talking about is irrelevant.

I haven't worked out the Y- and Z-axis yet although I understand what to do. As soon as I have, I'll report again.

Doesn't matter if you're drunk, just as long as you know where your towel is.
#312
Well then, this game isn't for me.
I still can't see how you've created a complete circuit. Where does it start? Where does it end? It should go to the lower right, right? But where should the other side be? Or should I create a closed circuit?

Damn, I hate it when I don't get it. Makes me feel stupid. >:(

[update] I think I'm beginning to see how the circuit works. What i still don't see is how the axis values are related to the circuit.
#313
Yeps. You can find it on my page already ;-)

Still hunting for Larry. Sorry.
AS Racing can be found on my site. You requested that one in October 2009 already? Legend of Rovendale 2 has only be released in Russian (afaik) so I don't have that one. Sorry.
#315
Nope, still haven't figured it out  :-[
Either it's very simple or very far fetched, but I still don't see the logic in the 9 squares.
#316
Looking good as always. Playing now, commenting later.

I understand that all. I got that indeed from the wristcom and the diagram. I now know which sequence to use the objects in. But I don't understand the grid. There are 9 squares. 3x3. That's a lot of combinations to go through. I can't make any sense of the drawings on it or figure out how to make a circuit or how to get power from where to where?

I'm sure it's me but....

How come if you change nothing to the circuits, the value of X still changes?
Look at the value of X. Press blue (select X), press yellow and the value of X changes without any circuit being moved....?

Oh.. and the restore function is under the save button... (?)

[edit] I now find that there's text on the line between the green & red button (run test) and also between blue and dark green (cycle hardware) and between yellow and grey (reset). This is only on the black line and not on the colored panels itself. Intended?

To 'talk' to the trees:

Spoiler
Grab the root as it appears. As soon as it stops moving (interval of 2 movements), use the root again to 'pull' it. Repeat as necessary.

There seems to be no relationship between the axis and the grid. Not using the grid and just pushing blue and yellow alternately, makes the x-axis value go up and down (but not to the request value of course ;-) Besides that, I can't figure out when an axis has power or not. Should there be a circuit from a to b to set the power?

Spoiler
I've noticed the X Y and Z's on the grid, but where to put them?
[close]

So the object of the puzzle is clear, reading the grid absolutely not. And the reset after each check is also quite annoying. Any hints on how to handle the grid?

Looking good! Indeed a familiar look..

btw, the link in your first message doesn't work...
