Yep, winners can participate again. The high score for this is held by Wretched, who won three times in a row.

Why A and B? That's what'll make it confusing... Is it A or B this month? Why not call the MAGS by it's name?

I see two options:

The runner up of MAGS March gets to set the rules for MAGS April, the winner of MAGS March gets to set the rules for MAGS May. Then the winner of MAGS April has to call the shots for MAGS June, the winner of May for July etc.

Or just decide to have a special MAGS in April. Rules set by Dualnames (one rule: just as long as there are hitchhikers in your game! ;-) And the winner can decide for June, as the current MAGS March's winner wil announce the rules for MAGS May.

There will be two threads of course. But since you can obviously find out which month you're currently in, you know which one to use as a participant.

And since you as player know the month's not over yet, you don't have to search for the games in that month's thread (unless there are early finished games of course).

And as a host, you need to follow two threads, that's right. So it will be slightly more challenging for Dual. But he can do it!  ;)

Besides, there are currently two threads as well. You can still comment for the month that's already finished. Although not really really active, there are still two 'active' threads.

So all in all, I admit it's more administration, but less stress..

You can get a maximum score (and over) if you keep talking to Farmer Jake. It's only 10 points each time but still....  :)

typo when talking to the farmer: I bag your --> I beg your

Not sure if this was mentioned already:
Talking to Rosa after returning to camp the first time, suggests that Rosa has been to the village already...
These topics should appear after visiting the village.

You didn't miss anything... it's in plain sight! ;-)

Talk to the fruit & veg man. While on the topic of the weather.... follow instructions given.

Congrats Tzachs, great game!

I didn't vote either. I only played the first game. The deadline came way too early. So I wonder how many votes eventually made it. The problem with Dual postponing the deadline for the entries, gives the player less time to play and to compare the games. Although in this case it was just the month being too short (as is almost every ;-)

Now that he's changing the guidelines to the commenting I might start giving feedback again. But still the time to play (even though I have quite some spare time) is very short.

I think the MAGS is not at its best, but I'm struggling to keep it at the quality Klaus was giving to this competition and as a developer myself, I'm trying to help you guys out.

You shouldn't play with the deadline. Being flexible is nice, being strict is better, certainly in competitions. Clear for everyone, strict rules so everyone knows what's expected. So here's a suggestion. Why don't you overlap the competition? Give a month to create a game (a real month, 1st - 31st/30th/28th/29th). Give 3 weeks to play, comment and vote and have another week to let the winner come up with guidelines etc and prepare for the new competition. The 'rules' for the new competition are then from the month before.

The pro of this is that people don't have to stress to play a game. Of course there will always be people not being able but the same goes for participating.
Another pro is that you have more time to attract people from outside the community who accidentally stumble upon the games and not familiar with the concept. They can play and vote as well.
Cons would be that you have to wait longer to announce a winner and that you need to fill a gap of one month. Maybe you can choose 2 winners before changing or the host chooses the rules for the 1st overlapping game.

Just a thought.

You need another item as well....
Spoiler
You need a pocketwatch. You can find it in the backpack left of the crates.
[close]
Then you have familiar items you can have a blast with.
#389
That's right, another awkward moment.
Spoiler
You need to get it out of her backpack first (she only said you could have it... ;-)

Did you speak to the fortuneteller? Then you must have the cards.

Spoiler
Use the cards while talking to the fruit & veg guy. At first it seems a bit strange when to use the cards but after a while you'll get the feeling.

Ah, that explains... it's 'just' in your hut..  ;D

Explore the hut thoroughly, also...

the space under the bed. Looking at it will result in keys.

They can be used for the obvious...

no, not the chest. :-), the drawer.

Assuming you have the saw, walk north when on deck. That will make you visit the island.
#393
Great game, once again. Congratulations. Nice puzzles!

Some little thingies:
Spoiler

- You can take a seedling twice
- You can use the cup on the cloud multiple times, even after you have a wet seedling.
- Typo when taking the plant (again): I'va --> I've
- Typo when walking with note: crossraods --> crossroads
- Typo when walking with note: lurrking --> lurking
- Typo when standing in front of the tree: defently --> definitely
- When you tie the carrot to the string and take another carrot, you have two. After fishing, you only have one but when tying the string back to the one you have, you have two again... magic!
- Haven't dug into this but when you throw the speer at the fish without luring, you lose the speer but you're not able to carve another one..?

To use spoilers, use the [ hide] and [ /hide] tag (without space inside the brackets).  ;)

First chapter:

Go left of the skeleton to the tree and the toilet. Look around there to find all you need. First of all you'll need
Spoiler
the root with resin from the tree.
[close]
To take it
Spoiler
use the saw from your hut on the ship.
[close]
Then use
Spoiler
the sticky root in the strange hole in three.
[close]
Show the product to the skeleton.

Second chapter:

You already know you need the drinks so you've visited Stan... Then you also may have taken
Spoiler
the bucket.

Go to the pub. There are locations you can use it.
Spoiler
In the kitchen on the far right is a leaky barrel.

Take the contents. The rest should be straight forward.... the brick is probably 'sand'-stone :-)

The games are very well playable with nice puzzles. Although they could be polished a bit, it was fun to play.

@I am a loser:
Talk to the drunk in the bar. You'll find a way to trick him.

@FitzoliverJ:
Where are you stuck?

@Khris:
It's not too bad. There are worse first-time productions and although there are some minor things that could be changed, it's fun to play. If you keep in mind that look, talk and use are the only commands you'll use, there's nothing wrong with the games.

A few things in part 2:

- The fireplace in the pub doesn't have a name
- The voodoo lady is constantly referred to a 'he and him' (translation issue).
- At Stan's there's a line not translated.
- The fruit of fear doesn't have a name
#396
More thingies:

- The man in the library doesn't have a name/mouseover..
- The absense of menu at the hanging man happens a few times more during the game (seems pretty random but only that location).
- The give-command doesn't work.
- The fact that I have to 'use' the narrow alley is rather strange. I expected to just walk in.
- A real funny one: when you use the monkey on ... whatever, all hotspots shift about 20px to the left..
- The same seems to be the case with the twig.
- The command 'open' results in 'use'. Not a big deal but I can't open anything.. ;-)
#397
A few things I notice after starting the game..

- Guybrush disappears whenever Elaine is talking..
- The commands over a hotspot/object are not translated..?
- When visiting the hanged man to the right of the dancing skeleton I didn't have any menu at the bottom, nor could I interact with anything.
#398
Yay! And two chapters!!   :o :o

The links work fine but you have to be very patient... reporting back when played.

You're right. Even professional translators can mess up. But Google doesn't understand sayings, aphorisms and expressions which can totally ruin a plot or story. So it's better to have someone look at it who can translate these saying to a certain extend. Even then it's very hard to translate jokes etc because some clues and word plays can't be translated properly. Then you must look for alternatives that can approach the meaning of the original, something Google never can. And without knowledge of that language it can result in disastrous translations.

Of course Google can help you find the proper meaning of words and can help you to a degree but if you're not comfortable translating... don't.
#400
Believe me, you don't want to translate a game with Google Translate. You need knowledge of the language to do a proper translation. And regarding Fafri's English: he's coping pretty well with his posts here. But sometimes you're just not confident enough to do proper translations. So you just leave it to the ones who are willing to and ten times better than you as game maker.
