I can't imagine it would be a corruption thing. More corruption of the user..  ;D

@Intense:

While you're updating you might want to look at:
- a typo in the game, not sure which screen. Margaret says Loook instead of Look
- I crashed the game pressing restart at the end: Error: unable to restart game (error:File not found). Maybe a rename during production and not in the script?  ;)

@Stee:

You don't start with a space or anything? Come to think of it..... do you enter the numbers through the separate keypad or the number keys above the letters? Using the numbers on the keypad whilst not having the NUM-lock pressed, will result in a different character. You might want to use the other set of number keys. Or are you using a laptop....?

Yep, you're missing something. There's a trick to bring the 5040 possible combinations back to 24.
You use your fingers to enter the code, right? And there's a way to reveal that....

Spoiler
Go to the policestation and get a fingerprint leaflet for kids. There's a sample on it that you can use on the keypad so it only show the four keys that are used. Since these are 4 different ones, it leaves you 24 possibilities. Knowing Murphy you probably need them...

Well the end was quite sudden... expected a bit more 'sparkles' there. But other than that, great puzzles. I loved the way the dialogs kept changing with each event. Well done. Animation could get a bit more attention, as said before. I didn't like the heavy borders around the dialogs. A thinner line would attract more.

Great how you handled the emails. They were already readable from screen but clicking them would repeat them in dialog, just in case. Well done!

What I noticed though:

Spoiler
Whenever Larry has to go to the toilet (far left.. ) you still can't enter Paul's office because Larry might see you.. and even funnier... you can still call Larry and he'll even answer  ;D On the toilet?? I know about mobile phones and wireless but..  :)

@Stee:

Are you sure you didn't make a typo? I can use it, it isn't case sensitive and I can use it first thing after starting the game, even without having the written one in my inventory.

I don't agree with Paolo. In motion pictures ... yes. But we're talking adventure games here... Not pictures forced onto your retina... DIY!!! We are that hero... we need to figure out to pick up that knife. If we don't? Face the the concequences and tell the inlaws....

The beauty of adventure GAMES is the interactivity. The exploring, the trying, the failing, the common sense: how do I save this girl? And if I'm not in time... ? Try again... (also the beauty of games, so you don't have to tell the inlaws right away). With an autosave or autoretry would be nice, if not, weep, restore and try again. In my opinion, that is the essense of adventure games. If don't want to fail and retry? Grab the dvd and watch a movie.

If you don't want to end up in a dead end because of location changes, my suggestions would be to

1: rewrite the story so the items needed to solve the problem in the 'new' world, are available in that new world.

or

2: make sure the items needed are taken before the location changes. Either obtain them automatically (in some sort of way) or don't alow the change before the items are there.

or

3: Give the player clear notice of what's going to happen: you are going on a voyage and there's no return. Are you sure you want to continue? (maybe an autosave at this point in case he changes his mind later on).

Well, I'm afraid you can only talk your way out of this one.

Spoiler
Ask him what happened and tell him you hate it when people hit you in the back. Tell him there was no need to hit you, then tell him you’ve been journalist of the week. Tell him the youngest person he knows probably is dead and he’ll tell you about his son. Tell him he probably hates his dad and that dentist is more rewarding. Then Randal will ask you for a favor. Tell him you’re not willing to help and then Randal gives you a MEDAL to give to his son.

To finish it,

Spoiler
Below Randal are two holes in the ground. Use the pencil with the left one and the medal with the right one.

what's the plot of sending ripped game screenshot ? SV works ?
we can see them on mobygames... You can talk about your project and its advancement, but showing like 20 screenshots from an already existing game is useless.

The screens are slightly modified. I admit there could be a bit less and a bit smaller to speed up loading time...

Everyone tells me this is going to be a very difficult game to make, which is surely true, but what makes it easier is that most backgrounds and sprites and scripts have already been written.

And I think that's just the point. When you combine them, you must make sure that all screens are 'alike' and feel as if they're from the same building. To show with your example of the elevator lights (hey, you brought it up ;-) it looks to me as if they came from different games. I've never been to a building where an elevator panel and indicators looked different on each floor.

In your first two screenshots it feels to me you needed six lights so you added them for the sake of the six lights. And because some of them would be off-screen, you shifted them to the left to make sure you'd see them all (but who cares when the screen is for the lower floors?)

The real challenge in this is to make it look like all screens from different games came from 1. And that all elevators look like they're in the same building. I did a quick mock up of your first shot to show what I mean.

[image removed on request]

Please keep in mind that I am no graphics artist by any means and this was done for demonstrating the point only. And see what other benefit you get? All lights fit!!  ;D

Good luck with the project and I'll be playing when you're finished. Or before if you need a betatester...  ;)

To get the coin:
Spoiler
In the room with your boss, you can find a piece of string in the lower right corner. On the desk with Jeanine is some sticky tape. Use the combination on the drain.

To get the pin:
Spoiler
Talk to the boss to get his interest. Then get more info about that in the library (the book 'Beyond') and talk to your boss about it. He'll then mention some more dates.
