General Discussion / Re:Let's get lucid

How often should you do reality checks exactly? Seems like in a single day you could do it too much if you're not careful or if it becomes one of those compulsive-obsessive things. What about doing it at set times every day would that work?

I keep meaning to try it but havent got round to it just yet. Sounds cool, though. Duzz has whole section about lucid dreaming on his site that got me gripped a while ago.

I'd say go with straight adventure, people round here ussaully like that better anyway..
says the guy who won an AGS Award for his shooter game  ;)

Game's looking good by the way. Looking forward to the finished thing.

Bribes? Sorted. I'll cram some coupons in an envelope.

Happy b-day!

Yeah, a 'retry' is probably the easiest way to deal with it. Sometimes the scenes can be amusing (alla space quest) but often they're frustrating. Especially if you havent saved for a while and have to play loads again.

Personally, I try to avoid deaths or use them as little as possible. But thats just me.

Heh, yeah. My name was once the name of a fishing website (no joke!). That was a year or so ago, gone now.

Wow, Squinky. In 2 different  comics, you're a cartoon cat! Heh, maybe its a sign.... or something

The first post has been updated with some Poom news and a new version of the game uploaded (nothing to get excited about, though - just a couple of changes).

Yeah, got a returned value and it changes. I've managed to get it to work by putting in one of the numbers I saw displayed. It works if I put 7288 instead of 7000.

Hmm.. I don't remember reading in the documentation that it has to be in multiples of something. Thanks for the help, Scorpious.

Advanced Technical Forum / GetMP3PosMillis ()
Wed 14/01/2004 22:25:54
Hey. I'm having a bit of trouble getting this function to work. I've got an mp3 playing, I want something to happen at 7 seconds so - in the 'repeatedly execute' part I've got the code:

if (GetMP3PosMillis () == 7000) {

//do something

}

But nothing happens. I've played the mp3 with PlayMp3File() . Its probably something really simple but any one got any ideas?

*sigh* Oh well, at least Poom is nominated at The Crows Nest.

I'm glad you're enjoying the game, Maggie.

Spoiler
Goto the place where you got the plank from (the roller coaster place - its got a hut-type-thing infront of it) and to the right the railing is broken. You can slip through the gap here and onto the coaster track as Indokki said. You've got to do something here first.

Hints & Tips / Re:perils of poom - tent
Tue 06/01/2004 12:01:04
The scene with the ship is a scrolling room. Just walk right and the screen will scroll. AGA's hint is for the desert place tent. But y'know - he did post at 3 in the morning  ;)

Mike's list: (in no specific order)
Bad Timing, Goldlagoon, Jon Stickman and 2ma2's 'What Time Is It?' if it gets finished. Can't think of anymore straight off. Where is 2ma2 these days anyway?

EDIT: Oh yeah, Squinky's tenatively titled 'Stan and Sancho save the day', PB:A and Revenants of course.

Just completed it (finally!). Very nice game, the animations were really nice. The vending machine launch piece was my fav.
#37
I think these awards are a good idea. I hope you get enough nominations in (sent mine earlier).
#38
Looks good, I like the layout. Very nice.
#39
Cool - thanks, Duzz. Just gotta say I really liked your game. I havent completed it yet, but I'm getting there. Heh, angry bear.

Dammit, I didnt think there was that much pixel-hunting. Awww..Maybe I overlooked some things.

QuoteThe graphics are excellent, but in my opinion, to make it complete, you MUST make the guy who sells the second hand ships shake his hands up and down in his talking view, that would really give a plus to the (ahem... Monkey Island clichè???) scene.
Y'know what? I might just do that for the next release (the one with full music). If I find time that is.

QuoteFinished the game yesterday. Just like to congratulate you M, for making (IMO) one of the best AGS games of 2003. I *REALLY* enjoyed it, and I can't wait for the next installment! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, BerserkerTails. That really means a lot to me. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the support, everyone.

(BTW - Hey, Earlwood - whyd you get rid of your freaky avatar?)
