Uhm, I guess this would go with the next version, but wouldn't SetWhateverProperty() make sense as well?

What, exactly, is it that won't work?
Does none of the buttons work or just not the search button?

Nice, nice! I think this is the best AGS e-zine around.
However, I have to make a slight correction. Moose Wars was not the first non-adventure game made with AGS. I think I released at least two, maybe three, non-adventures before Moose Wars and even before that we had that old dart game by Scid (at least I think it was by Scid).
Well, still a nice non-adventure game, but not the first.

The problem with American movies might be the NTSC issue. That means if the TV out there is not too new and fancy we won't be able to see any colours on the American or Japanese DVDs.

Btw, I'd like to see The Others. Haven't come around watching it.

Actually, I think you're putting a little too much into this. A 360° bg would only mean that the bg would repeat when you get to the far left or right on the bg - just like in the demo. No need for any fancy 3d-effects, really.

I like the sky a lot! Maybe you should try using it on the things that it's really useful for.
The tree looks cool but slightly psychedelic. It's at least definately not from this world...
I think combining styles could produce something good. Just think which parts you should make in which style.

But an inventory object doesn't have to be a room object, you know that, right?
I almost can't imagine a situation where you need more objects available than the maximum number of objects +max num of characters + max num of overlays and every other way of making things that could work as objects. If you used all of these the game would probably be annoyingly slow on even a decent computer.
What is your current number of objects in a single room?

I did a BlackJack game once. One problem with making a card game like MTG would be that there would be a lot of cards in play all the time. You could, however, always make something like the card game in FinalFantasyVIII.

That's a nice feature.
However, I could try to recreate the problem in the beta, though I doubt it's still there, unless you release 2.56 before middle of next week as I'm going away over the weekend and beginning of next week. In any case I'll try it in the new version.

Goodnight! :)

I don't think there'll be much of a problem with the food, I just thought it'd be safer to check as much up as possible. We veggies are real whuzzies so we have to make sure everythings ok first. Btw, can mom come too?

Cool we're on the same side, scotch!
("Football! Veggies vs Meaties!!!!!")

Farlander: I think both I and scotch will manage... But I doubt any of us would want to eat meat (unless it's human). If there are sympatisizers who likes to ditch the meat as well you're all welcome! :)

Magintz: You'll have to try harder than to name your preferences of food to offend anyone around here...

Mods: If that worked last year, why not do it the same way again?

2.55.
Already fixed for the beta?

Ah! Of course! *epiphany*
Thanks!

You can always ditch the black lines in favor of shading and more details. I think #1 is a very good start for a room.

They're all great, but I think you should add a pair of frames to each animation to make it smoother. I works as it is, but as they are as good as they are you should try and perfect them even more if you think it's possible, worth it and have time. Very impressive work, however!
#115
Although they look very good the perspective is quite off in both of the pictures. It's not a big thing, you don't really notice it at first really, but I think you should look into i. Try choosing a point somewhere in your picture where all lines in the direction into the screen (if you get what I mean) meets.

The office could be filled with just about anything, but you could also try to make the room smaller and add a black frame around the picture. Remember that you don't always have to make use of your whole screen for every background. If you look at some Sierra games, especially interior views, you'll see what I mean.

Try fiddle around a bit with the settings, using setup.exe. It's pretty common to encounter problems if your sound or graphics settings are set to something your computer can't handle.
#117
So that actually works in the engine? This would mean the engine treats the y/x division as a float, which AGS normally doesn't support, right?
#118
Isn't the modulo operator (% in C and C++) implented in AGS? Why? Even if most people will probably never use it but I think it would be useful.

(Sorry for posting so much here the last few hours, but I've just gotten around doing a little advanced stuff with AGS again...)

I found a little nasty bug in the editor.
If you have the GUI editor running, and then open the global script you can still use parts of the GUI editor by switching to the editor window in the task bar.
This caused the editor to hang up after closing the script editor.

Ok, thanks!
Any chance that will change in the future?
Not a big thing, really, but it could help a little...
