Well, here's the souvenir available to all who enter the contest:

It's a T-shirt, adapted for a monster with an extra head and few extra limbs that's been through a bit of a battle with a similar foe:

And yes: I stole the T-shirt text from Gary Larson ("The Far Side" cartoons) but firstly: It was just too good to resist.

Mainly though...

"I rose from the depths and fought an epic battle with another giant monster and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!"

...wasn't quite doable within the pixel restraints...

  - Artistic execution (you know, there's always this one contestant who makes everyone jealous of his skills ;))

* Mandle steps up to the mike:

Yeah, sorry about that everyone...

(Mr. OUXX whispers in Mandle's ear)

Sorry? You're not talking about who?

*whisper*

Didn't quite catch that: This is the most embarrassing thing you've ever what?

*whisper*

I'm making a complete what of myself?

*whisper*

I'm making it so much worse by repeating everything you're what?

*whisper*

Oh...

* Mandle sits down

Spoiler
finding out what to do with the lunar panels is a bit of a (chunky) pixelhunt but the clue is helpful!

That's one of the great things about this game:

Spoiler
You can go pixel-hunting with an elephant gun...

MESS GOBLINS!!! Now we know who to blame!!! I can finally convince all my work-mates that it's not my fault!!!

This game looks seriously charming! Loving their clothes made out of garbage scraps! Adorable! Where can we buy the plushies? Me wantie!

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH....Ruuuuuuuuuun!!! That THING is two-horny!!! 8-)

Fantastic entry! Leaving the final horror up to the viewer's imagination...very cool!

It will be quite the inspiration to all potential game authors with long-time projects on back burners when you release this project!

The game also looks very cool! Can't wait to play it!

This is all because you are editing the script before understanding what it all actually means. Thus you are getting errors that you can't understand.

I posted a link to an excellent series of YouTube tutorials in one of your many other threads that will take you through how to make a game in AGS from start to finish.

I really suggest you watch these tutorials as they are much kinder on the psyche than wading through the AGS manual for days on end...

After watching the tutorials the manual is much more approachable and understandable I promise you...

Oh...by the way...

I'm totally entering this contest as well!!!

I have some basic questions here since this is my first time.
1) How do I make something occur the first time you perform said action like interacting with something.
2) I'm a bit confused on objects. I can create inventory items but I can't find a way to put the object in the room so you can take it.
3) The icon bar seems to be stuck in perpetual blue. How do I fix that?
4) Finally, I can't seem to give my character the ability to use his speech animation. How do fix that?
Thank you for hearing me out and I hope you can help me in the best way possible.

I would like to point you towards a series of YouTube video tutorials on how to use AGS to create a complete game from start to finish:

The series is long and very comprehensive and gives a complete and easy-to-understand grounding in how the AGS engine is used.

To answer one of your points though:

(2) Objects in rooms and inventory items are two completely different things. Basically you create an object in the room and give it the "OnClick" property that it shall disappear when it is clicked and at the same time the player will "AddInventory" the corresponding inventory item. So yeah, the "movement" of the item from room to inventory is actually just an illusion.

I got a liitle bit confussed, but here is mine... are we allowed to update them later as long as its before the close date?

Yes, Soxbrooker, you can update as much as you like before the closing date in all these kinds of forums contests: Background Blitz, Colouring Ball, Sprite Jam, etc...

AND by the way: Oh sweet JELLY JAM!!! Your entry is freaking AWESOME!!!

EDIT: Oh, and just for clarity, where is says:

Next to your work in the first post: The "Thing Vote[ CLOSED ]" doesn't mean that voting is finished. That's just a slight glitch and will soon be changed to "[ NOT YET ]" or somesuch. It's supposed to indicate that voting has not opened yet ;)

/!\ Hey! About the trophies & souvenir... /!\
A beautiful and amazing surprise is emerging ...
Until I'm in the expectation!

Ermmm...don't build it up too much, dude... You're giving me stage-fright...

So...yeah: I'm making the trophies and the souvenirs so maybe: "A grotesque surprise" would be the better term (in both design and ability ;) )

I should have them ready in the next day or so...

Oh and by the way: KICKASS CTHULHU PICTURE THERE MATE!!!

(As a side, you might appreciate a joke I made on FB the other day that went largely unnoticed. There was news that a human tooth was found in some McDonald's fries in Japan.  So I said, "that's what I call a æ¯ãÆ'Æ'ãÆ'ӋÆ'¼ã‚»ãÆ'Æ'ãÆ'ˆ"  :-D )

Hahaha good job on the answer and GREAT PUN also!!! YOINK!!! I'm soooo using that one with my classes starting from today!!!

AGS related...

Avoided letter count to make it a bit more challenging...

So yeah: Getting the answer right depends on knowing Japanese so anyone please feel free to run an English-based puzzle simultaneously
