Sorry, does the game actually need 1.4GB to install out of a 100MB download or is my installer screwing up somewhere!? Because that is what it's telling me!

Don't get me wrong...the game looks beautiful and I want to play it, but with my crappy computer I just can't afford 1.4GB of disk space taken up by it...

It kinda blew my mind that a 100MB download could require that much space to install...Am I making some huge misconception here by doing something wrong?

LOVE your style and especially the:

WWII bomber plane inspired (if I might assume) Archaeopteryx with the 4 claws instead of propellers.

There is so much of this kind of depth in your art that I hope the game pace is not too hyperactive and lets us enjoy such elements with some time to spare worrying about our own game goals ;)

Oh goody goody, Mandle. We don't have anything yet in sort of DotT, Discworld II related style yet. Please do it, pretty please with sugar on top!

Hehe...nice and very kind comparisons to the style there...Pfft, I only wish right???

Well, I'm going to be working on it a bit today, nothing tomorrow, and then who knows???

Anyways, it will get completed whether I make the competition or not as I plan to use it (even if it's just a concept art to show a much more talented BG artist)

Instead of:

Code: ags
gRestoreGame.Visible = true;

Have you tried:

Code: ags
RestoreGameDialog();

Worked for me when I had the exact same issues ;)

EDIT: Oh...and of course SaveGameDialog(); instead of just making the save GUI visible...

It seems that AGS has some hard-wired code it needs to run before the GUI becomes visible (which includes finally pulling up the GUI) and that just making the GUI appear doesn't do the whole job.

At least that's how I found it to work...Someone will probably prove me as wrong as I am but until then give it a try anyway

Cheers for the links! I will have a look when I have the time!

Glad also you enjoyed Battle Royale, and yes it does have a rather adventure game feel to it I agree: With all the interesting "inventory items" (laugh)

Danger Mouse!

"Use anger" reversely = anger use, then split "mod" for d+anger and mo+use

Exactly!

Use anger reversely as a split mod

This one shouldn't need a letter-count as it's just that easy ;)

It is my honor to compete against you

As it is mine.

Well, here is a weird sketch of what I maybe will be able to submit before the time limit:

R'lyeh being one of the ultimate lost cities...

This will hopefully become my own version of the rise of R'lyeh in the Cthulhu game I'm working on...

Well...if if makes it into the contest really depends on the weather:

On the weather (whether) or not I can get the time to submit it in time...

.. Have you made any tutorials on your process or followed any tutorials from other artists that you could recommend? ..

Wow Mandle, aerhm... no, no I'm not that typ who is following others.

I kind of inferred from your opening "Wow" and the following "aerhhm" that you were a bit upset by this particular part of my post. Was this the case or am I way off track? There are a LOT of sarcastic posts in online forums so I can easily see why my comment would have been taken as one, but I was honestly asking out of respect for the art that I was seeing you develop...

I didn't mean any offense to suggest that you had learned how to do your art from anyone else.

But for me, any great artist learns how to create their own vision from the older and the wiser. That does not mean that the younger artist's work is in any way lesser. In fact it is all the greater for having learned not to repeat what has already been done before, but to build on that structure.

It is awesome that your parents are also talented artists and that they support your own art. That is a rare and valuable thing in this world, and I envy you for it.

I can't wait to see what your project is going to become (before or after the competition time limit)

Bat Atoll Royale?
Nice one! One day I should probably watch that movie...

It's my favorite Japanese (live-action) movie, and damn those new-fangled hungry, gamey ripoffs of it to HELL!!!

You are on an isolated, desert island: fighting opponents until the last man standing..

Bat Atoll Royale

In fact, I even think that the name of the island should be: Bat Atoll (It even kinda makes a Monkey Island reference with an animal name and a kind of island)...

And the game's name should be: Bat Atoll Royale

If the reference was missed then look HERE

Man, your stuff is amazing! I've been checking out your designs for quite a while now and I have one slight fan-gushing request:

Is there any chance you could show us a render of one of these in full-scale actually out in space with lighting on it etc?

Or even more than one: For example: a small fighter (fleet?) approaching the landing bay of a battlestation?

Not for any other reason really than that I want to wet my pants when I see it!

OK on the assumption I got it right.

WHEN INSULTING THE LANGUAGE GEEKS USE, BE SURE TO ADD THE L WORD. (9)

A wrong answer:

Spoiler
Fleetless

Reasoning: Insult: FU / Geek language: LEET / L word: LES (lesbian) so... FULEETLES therefore: FLEETLESS

Wrong I'm sure but let's see if any hints about right track/wrong track are forthcoming... ;)

If anyone's in touch with the ScummVM developers, they could surely open the TLC script and see how this is triggered.

I have the theory that it's something the game designers started work on and when they presented it to George Lucas he said "What the...?! Are you all nuts??? You can't have Indy stealing the Grail!!! That would be totally nuking-the-fridge!!!" and vetoed it, and so they unlinked it from the gameplay and "forgot" to remove their hard work from the code. In which case there may be a back-door to it they put in just to show it off to impress girls at parties ;)
