Inception.

Yeah, basically your dream of:

"As far as the childhood dreams go, there's one particular dream I used to have often. It was about a bus falling down the hill's top. I would be sitting on a seat located at the very back of the bus. The bus would dangle back and forth (what with half of it hovering in the air), kinda like see-saw. After some time, the bus would fall and I would literally feel the pull of gravity. At that point, I would wake up and find my head pressed very hard to the pillow."

Perfectly described an entire scene in the movie where the dreaming team is in a van (e.g: your bus) which goes off the edge of a drop. The way they can wake up in the movie is to do the "kick" which is basically to feel the pull of gravity upon an impact after falling within a dream which wakes you up.

So yeah the picture was them in the van asleep while the van was about to hit the water below...I think you might be the guy in the middle on the back seat...Hood over the head kinda makes it hard to tell though...:P

Oh, shit no!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Please, pleeeease don't say it's true... :~( :~( :~(

I am praying for you Nicky and hope you can get back on track as soon as possible. I hope any rebuilding will go smoothly. I really do...

This is any game dev's worst nightmare come true and I'm sure you don't even want to hear this right now, but sometimes great things come from redoing something over again a second time...

Now you can slap me for even saying that in this moment that must be horrible for you:

Thanksgiving?

Spoiler
Correct! Now...How did you reach the answer? Or if it was just a guess based on my rather obvious hint, can anyone retro-engineer the original hint into this answer?

Giving infantry support at the front (12)

Spoiler
It's usually airborne forces that support infantry, is that relevant to the clue?
[close]

Also, could you give us a tiny clue about what the answer IS related to?

To answer your first question:
Spoiler
A certain form of infantry support is indeed relevant, but not airborne.

And here's a small hint as to what the answer is related to:
Spoiler
Americans might have an easier time answering this than others ;)

Also, "transparency" is the only 12 letter AGS word I can think of. :P

Ah...did I forget to mention that it's not AGS related? :P

Just finished the game and I must say it was a very enjoyable and mysterious experience.

I have a question or two:

BIG SPOILERS(do NOT look if you haven't played):

Spoiler
I noticed there is no "alternative endings" feature listed so is the tragic end the only one? The game seemed to lead me towards that ending but maybe I missed something?

Second question:

Spoiler
Are you a big softy romantic and actually met an amazing girl in Portugual and had a date in this very park and made this game for her where she got to be the evil temptress? If not then sorry, but it was kind of the vibe I got, and something like I would do myself for a girl I was in love with...In that nerdy way that girls tend to find endearing...

Only questions here:

Spoiler
So....when you said (5.0) did that indicate that the brackets actually contain a number instead of showing the number of letters in the word? So the actual code could be any length, and then end in a number enclosed in brackets?

Let me ask this:

Spoiler
Does sin refer to the usual meaning, or does it refer to the mathematical meaning?

I think I have it:

Spoiler
Clear
[close]

Please tell me you're messing with me...

Spoiler
Not at all!...My reasoning was that to become ethereal you become "clear", and also usually in coding "clear" resets a variable's value to null without destroying the variable itself, and also to be "void of sin" kinda "clears" you...

Sorry, but I honestly thought I had it...I'm starting to suspect that my own rather faulty knowledge of coding is to blame here...

Ummmm...Is it username related, coding related, game name related, or...etc? That might be a nice hint ;)

Spoiler
While googling if any words such as "Limbo" or "Faded" were in any way AGS related (there was a game in production in 2007 called "Limbo" but I doubt that's it), I discovered that AGS also stands for "American Gerbil Society". I was too scared to click the link though for fear of what I might find there...

Ahhhh so the answer is simply:

Spoiler
Ghost

Losing one's physical form (i.e: dying), but trapped in limbo (void) due to sins done in life.

Spoiler
Kinda trapped yeah.. but not due to losing physical form.

Spoiler
Ah, I think I didn't make it clear that I was attempting to answer the puzzle in there. That was me explaining my answer, not me asking for a hint, sorry.

My answer was: "Ghost"

This theme actually fits perfectly with the game I'm working on so I'm IN!!!

Let me also say that I'm not cheating as this is not a background I was working on at all just yet (It's actually one of my end-game backgrounds from probably a couple of years from now, but this will give me the chance to lock it in a bit and base the rest of the game backgrounds on its style so they match)

It will be completely drawn originally from this moment on...
