And for those that say we dream in B&W... well, I remember color, so even if I'm dreaming in B6W, my brain is adding color... then again, it used to do that too when I watched TV on a B&W TV when I was young. :)

Oh my God, Cassie! I was just telling my mate, like three days ago, how when my family first got a colour TV we turned it on and everyone else was like: Ohhhhhhh and Ahhhhhhh and I had to pretend to be impressed because I couldn't see the difference. I'd been seeing the B&W in colour the whole time also! I was about 5-6 years old I believe...I thought I was the only one who had this experience because whenever I've told people (including my mate) they can never quite get what I mean...

Especially nukes...Goddamn the lack of a simple option to "Attack/Ignore" whenever an air unit

Click >Ignore< ... swwoosh ... BANG ... What!? My air unit is gone? Oh, the ground unit was armed with an land-to-air missile. (laugh)

I've often mussed that my dreams are so weird, that they would turn into very interesting (yet very strange) stories. I once started to try and write them down as soon as I woke up, but dream memories go away too fast (and I always want to continue the story even though I know I won't be able)...
How many times have you woken up just when you are about to reveal the secret/mystery/etc? I hate to not get the end of the movie I was just watching. LOL

I still remember an amazing dream I had about 20 years ago where I was in a city built for vampires and the buildings were all just solid concrete walls with no windows and I had a bazooka for blowing up the mass vampire hordes chasing me down...Man, did I kick ass that night!

Also when I was a kid of about 5 years old, I had a recurring dream that there was a bridge over a chasm in a dark cave and this multitude of hideous monsters was chasing me through the cavern. I would run across the bridge with the monsters in hot pursuit and on reaching the other side I would find a light-switch. When I hit the switch I would wake up...

I often remember my dreams still (at 45 years old) and wish that I could be as good at creating detail to use in game/art projects in the waking world as I am in the dream world...Because, I swear...

I've seen shit that'd turn you WHITE!!!

I sometimes dreamt of nuking England and conquering the world. I was getting those dreams when I was playing CiV too much.

Hahaha...I sooo used to dream of CivII when I was playing it 16 hours a day, back in the day...

It became a blur when I woke up and had to load the game to remember what actually happened and what was just dreams...

That game can truly mess you up.

(Civ refers to the Civilization games by Sid Meier...I say "games" but for me CivII will always be the only one that really counts...Despite the horrible, exploitable flaws with air units...Especially nukes...Goddamn the lack of a simple option to "Attack/Ignore" whenever an air unit encounters a ground unit....AARRRRRGGGHHHH...It could have been PERFECT!!!)

Two very cleverly thought-out answers...

But both totally on the wrong tracks sorry...

(If this one turns out not leaving everyone wanting to just kill me outright, I might reserve a place for it in my current game project which is based a bit around these kinds of word puzzles...)

I've been thinking of putting a hint, but I know there is a pathway to the answer as soon as someone has that moment of divine inspiration that just feels too good for me to ruin just yet ;)

(The exact way I felt when the solution to the "hijklmno" puzzle just struck me is what I'm trying to say)

A?
S?

only 23 letters left!

I see the logic here in A or S being a portion (synonym of "half" maybe) of the word "ASS" but sorry no, this is also completely the wrong track to be on ;-D

Spoiler
I will also not even be answering anyone who just posts the entire rest of the alphabet :P ... Some reasoning behind the answers is always nice to read too... Wow, I might have actually made either a pretty good or really terrible cryptic puzzle here... Time will tell I guess...

Concept: Kastchey (I just can't not vote for a Cthulhu Mythos themed temple, especially one this well done)

Artistic Execution: Kastchey (For me this was the background with the most foreboding feeling, especially in the retro-feel style. You can literally feel the pain each of those tiny pixelated sacrifices went through even though they are just about the bare minimum of pixels needed to even make a recognizable human form)

Playability: aikex222 (If I understand this category as meaning the most flexible background to plug into a game, providing instant playability then this is the one. The player will know exactly how and where they can move as soon as they see the screen.)

All other entries were awesome too! I would certainly play any game done in any of the styles all entrants presented here.

So...here's a quick one, should take about 10 seconds for someone to get it I'm guessing...

Half-assed (1)

Half a donkey is a key.

Hahaha Baron!!!

After penetrating your Fort Knox of hides I see you have the correct answer.

LOL! I thought maybe throwing such a simple one in after so many truly cryptic ones would make everyone overthink it, but you clearly check off all the obvious solutions first before delving in fully.

I bet you check out every hotspots' LOOK interaction in every new room before trying anything serious when you play adventure games too...(laugh)

So...here's a quick one, should take about 10 seconds for someone to get it I'm guessing...

Half-assed (1)

Spoiler
YES!!! That's right!!! No typo...and no miscount (I counted four or five times to be sure) (1)!!!

Hmmmm, let me consult "Freud's Guide To Dreams":

For that exact dream-sequence it says: "You love your mother, and hate your father."

...

Hang on!!! It says that for every dream-sequence!

I've got to admit, the "Charles" reference stumped me too.  The Xs were clearly "tens" once I finally understood Baron's hint and MIT isan establishment for tertiary entertainment. Maybe "Charles" was a red herring?!?!

Certainly right I'm sure: "MIT" is a university and is "hugging" as in "right up against" the "tens", but what did "Charles" have to do with it??? I'm guessing it was a hint to point in the direction of "MIT" which does have a pub named "The Muddy Charles" but ....hmmmm... stumped...

Great work though CaptainD...This one was a bit beyond me...(laugh)

I will be flying the friendly skies with you this weekend...This looks excellent!

The first thing I scanned on your screenshots was whether the main character was animated or just placed in the shots, but I noticed his jet-exhaust seems a bit different in each screenie which leads me to think actual flight is possible...

This out-of-the-blue project has just jumped to the top of my most-excited-to-play list...
