Thanks, but are you sure? It says it:

"lets a character speak in Lucas Arts-style but doesn't pause the game while it does so. You can still walk around while the character is talking and the speech view will be shown while it's standing."

But I want the game to still be in a dialog!

Something so simple seems really annoyingly difficult requiring a bunch of code. And it's just for a joke in my game! Hopefully someone knows if there's a way for a layman like myself who isn't anymore technical than knowing stuff off the top of my head like:

character[EGO].Walk(12, 44);

It's only a joke and not hampering the progress of my game, but if no simple solution comes up I'll have to weaken the joke.. sob.

I get frustrated easily, don't I?  ::)

Hey!

I've looked, and the only things I found wouldn't do the job.

I have a dialog where two people need to say "shut up!" at the same time. Ashen once suggested to someone that they use background speech, but it won't animate, he said.

So, two people talking INSIDE a dialog, with their speech views, AND with the recorded speech (talky game). (I'd have two shut ups recorded for each character, but I could always paste them together as one speech file, so it's recorded with both voices in it.  :-\ )

Secrets only has 373 by comparison. I manually script only when it's neccesary. Limbo currently has 268, and isn't anywhere near finished..

Jimmy is right!

In my experience, I wouldn't start on any artwork until I have about 9 songs completed, otherwise I don't have a feel for how the artwork should fully portray the music. Punk rock ska, with a dark cover? Let me show you some covers, and you tell me what kind of music you'd expect:

Yes, it does seem premature to be worrying album an album so early in the band's life.

And the you have a few songs written, so how can you know what the name of the album should be before you know what the overall theme of all the songs will be?

Once again, your band name reminds me of some other bands. The _______ ______ effect? Like.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Butterfly_Effect_(band)

I do like the idea and imagery in the artwork though, although I'm not sure it will fit your music unless it has a dark edge. And that does look more like a werewolf..

Hi Petra! Hi Alliance! Thankyou for the support! It means a lot to me!

Ah, see that game only now.

Hmm! Time for a banner in my signature!  :)

Did you do them by yourself?
Because it reminds me a little of "Silent Knight".

I'll take that as a compliment!  ;)

Maybe we both grew up watching Garfield cartoons!

QuoteHmm, the plot seems somewhat similar... *cough*Grim Fandango!*cough*
Nah, I'm just yankin' ya!

Har har!

The thought occured to me at one point actually, so I made sure the "death has an office" was pretty much the only similiarity!

Quoteso you wouldn't have to worry that only your friends wrote, to whom I don't belong, I guess. (Or do I?)

Hmm! I guess you are a friend! (Or are you?)

I fear he'll blink too much if you do that..... you'd have to make a very long walk animation! (Repeating it over)

("Rode" would be the past tense of riding on a horse, I think. "read" is either past tense or present. Its only pronounced differently. sounds like: 'Reed' the book now! I 'red' the book!)

However Ishmael, it being the "AGS irc" would have led me to conclude that it is another representation of the AGS forum in chat form, however I can see it's nothing like. But if you're the AGS irc, surely then, even if they are paying to run it, they must not give AGS a bad name?

People get irritated by someone just becuase they don't like them and that gives them the right to ban them? If only it was that easy offline.

Also, I don't think I will bother returning to #AGS irc, although I've probably been banned today from moaning on here anyway....
#1549
You were shouting "fags" and stuff at everyone, which was, for once, justifiable for banning.

(I really don't think you meant with ciggerettes, and I also think you were so drunk you don't really have a problem with gays or anything, right?)

You tell someone to go fuck himself while being 'drunk on the internet' and you consider that he had it coming to him because he banned you fast instead of warning you.

I think he had it coming because he treats people like shit, actually.

And Hajo's last post proves that, in my eyes.
So Hajo, does that mean you've banned Pmdee twice??

EDIT: Hey Hajo! Please by all means show us an excerpt of just prior to this where Pmdee was being "irritating". I'd like to see for myself.

Looking at my games files, I have sound in a folder called "Sound". And if that doesnt work, try having them in the main bulk of the folder.

Also, you should have posted this in the beginner's technical questions section, the one at the very top. And the bonus effect of going by these rules is that you get answers from the right people!
#1552
I'll just download the full thing when it's done!  :)

I hope the full game will be less... grey? A LOT of games, even commerical ones, can have loads of grey. It's hard to avoid though!
#1553
Oh yes! My bad, I did say I was going to bed (albeit via my... erm.. teddy bear, apparently.) but you banned me when I was going anyway?

Alright then, very drunk, but as Vict0r says, you just kicked me off without any warning. And being drunk I got mad easily.

I like how this excerpt of irc cannot show any history between me and Hajo, that this was the first time anyone said anything bad.  ::)

From skip-reading I don't think anyone mentioned it, but then again I'm not sure you're asking about it. The title screen.

You have posted it, so I will crit!

From reading your wip, I'd deduce this is a horror/thriller/chiller? If so, the font used for your logo isn't scary at all. It's actually posh and fancy, the sort of font you would use to print on your wedding invitations.

No offence!

one AGS member (I won't mention his/her name) he/she also complained to AGS ops about this absolute immaturity and stupidity

That is probably me? I was banned for one night because I didn't want to go bed when Hajo told me to, when I was a bit drunk that night, but I wasn't flaming or spamming. Yep, I got banned for not wanting to go to bed! (And then sent him a PM that contains the excerpt on Hajo's signature)

Then when I was done moaning about that, I asked Hajo to give me a justifiable reason as to why Pmdee was banned. He gave me unjustifiable reasons, to put it nicely. So I moaned to AGA I think it was, but Hajo just happened to be in the same room and read it! Then Pmdee was unbanned. Then Hajo told me I should have came to him first.  ::)

Tuomas, I think you got banned when you were presumably really drunk and was hurling abuse at no one in specific. (PM me if you really want to know what you said haha...)

This looks kind of silly (in a good way), justing lookin at the screen shots made me chuckle.
Hehe!  That shopkeeper scratches his arse when idle and has a look of pleasure on his face as he does it. It cracks me up!

QuoteDo you play Brent or Death?
You play as Brent! Death just gives you advice etc. Brent is quite a blunt man:
(To shopkeeper:) "Most of the fat in your body appears to be in your chins."

QuoteAnd voice acting? ... Very posh!
Hell yeah! I built a reputation for amusing voices in the last game! I can't wait to do them!

QuoteWhat, you can't get a good falsetto going? Just clamp a clothespin onto your you-know-what and step up to the mic! :D

haha! The flaw in that plan is the stepping up to the mic part.  ;) Doubt I'd reach the mic!

I filled in more info on the first post, about how much is done (In detail).

I recently got a job (Phew! Yay!) and when I start on Monday, it will affect the time I get to work on my game quite a bit. And then there is the promotion and finishing of my album too. At least I'll have money to fund my album now.

It's in a shop in the city centre, so you know the sort of hours I'll be doing as a full-timer.

They're cute!  :D

Yeah, get rid of the arm on the other side, as you wouldn't see it.

The problem with the animation is that it's not finished! You need more frames! When the front leg moves behind him, the leg flicks back to the front as the animation has restarted it's loop, right?
