As Rui said, but as for how much you could offend me, for example, it depends on the context.

Frank the Farmhand had racist people, but the hero wasn't and was friends with the guy that was under attack by racists. The maker warned the player of the racist tones in the game.

If your game was sending messages across that it's okay to be racist and kill children I'd be somewhat disturbed and complain about it.

Wow, I can Nacho is pissed off, his english took a sharp decline!

And God likes a strawberry milkshake.

But for ther record I agree with Nacho and Darth, and disagree with Ikari, and definetly Shitar.

Look at that site selling the "GiJoe witha beard drawn on"! It's so obviously small time! I think it's just weird to sell that! Does it come with a neck snapping sound effect too when you tighten the noose?

Maybe it is selling well if you say so, but how well? and does that make the whole country sick? James Blunt sells shedloads of his album, does that mean I must like his album too? That the UK likes his album? Does this question sound stupid to you? EH?

Sweet! I could never work on a game/game plan that late in the night without drinking copious amounts of coffee!

I never did like how it rates things here.

When a magazine finds a game to be average, they really score it around 70%, not 50%. Maybe it's me and I'm not so easy to please, but if I read a game in the shops scored an average of 50% in all the magazines I more than likely wouldn't touch it. It will most likely be awful.

So from that perception, 38% say, would suggest to me that it's the scum of the earth. But in AGS it means below average.

Good thing I don't really value the percentages given to games on here.

Why would we do something about this president?  ???
He hasnt done anything wrong yet.

Maybe you were talking about a previous president, the "stupid and sick" one. I don't know.

Nevermind then.

No, it wouldnt be fair, but what Im saying is that I dont see US citizens doing something about it, that's what makes me think there are lots of US people supporting Bush war actions.

What about this leader of your country? May I ask, what have you done about them?

The Ivy: I concur! It's a shame there isn't a "best speech" award in the AGS awards! Closest thing would be "use of sound" I guess. I can't wait to do the voices myself! But I'm leaving it till last due to the non-linear-ish nature of the rooms. (Like in "Sydney finds employment" really, which is also probably about the same length as this one will be.)

Auriond: Thanks again! "Cute", hehe!  :)

Steel Drummer: Cheers for the offer, but I'm keeping other actors to a minimum. Having things recorded elsewhere sounds noticably different, and makes it inconsistent. Plus I love doing the voices myself!

Folks:

I will need a female actor however, for any female parts, but they'll need to be able to record with a good microphone. I was playing some AGS game recently, and one voice was obviously done over the phone! That ruined the atmosphere. Anyway, PM me if you're interested!

Peder:   :D

Rui: Um, well I appreciated that you posted, but you didn't say anything about the game, just a comment on my admittedly funny sentencing. But don't worry about it, I would have gone on a mardy even if you hadn't posted that! Made no difference.

Nikolas: Oh hey Nik! How is the holiday? I wasn't expecting to hear from you yet, so no worries! Cheeky! I wasn't expecting three pages unless my thread was controversial or was for a game with a price tag on it.. ;)

Suggested paintover changes:

Matched outline for skin on nose with eyes, arm and lips.

Reshaped her chin.

Reshaped her nose. (It looked too big to me, on a white woman, although I'm hardly a great nose drawer myself)

Made her right eye bigger.

Made her top so it's not perfectly straight. (The bit under her chin)

Had a go at shading her forehead.

EDIT: Also, maybe move her mouth a pixel to the left?

Yes Gord! It's been OVER TWO YEARS since you mentioned it! When will it be ready?

Okay, now I'm glad i bitched!  ;D

I decided to comment on "I want to die" and found it really hard to think of something to say. But I came up with something anyway. This tells me a little something here. But I think even if one says any old crap it's nice to see some feedback!

so carry on and finish it and if you ever need inspiration then just give me a shout.

Thanks!  :)  :)  :) I appreciate your support.

Floorboards: Yeah, I could never make a game in the style of Shivah, as I can't do low-res OR hi-res serious sprites! Still, my humour is my strong point really, so doing comical games is for the best. Some people who can't draw will work around it, by taking photos and using them, or finding a graphics artist.

Da-Elf: I hope you find someone for your game, as that looks most promising!

auriond: Hehe, thanks! Expect jokes such as that in the game!

I have nothing to say, which perhaps tells me something here, about game in progress threads in general.

The story sounds good and if this was ever in English I would certainly give it a play.

There! I said something! This game deserves more than 2 posts!

(Oh. and I agree with Overwind about the cursors)

For your consideration also!

SECRETS!

Best Dialogue Writing

Best Non-Player Character
Best Use of Sound (I don't know if speech would count here?)

And it isn't silly to say that if those classics were made today they would have the full voice BUT the exact same graphics???

EXACTLY! So he shouldn't compare old titles to SJM as it's illogical.  :)

I have to confess I'm losing motivation to continue now. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the very few comments on here are by people I consider friends on AGS, except for one (Bet you can guess who, too), which makes me feel like there is little interest in my game. I regret posting my game in here now..

Anyway, hopefully I'll get over it and stop being so petty, and continue on the game soon......

Well the game is shorter than Secrets as I said, but there will be more things to do in the game world. And the puzzles are actually planned before I've even made the  background and any characters relating to it, where as in Secrets I was making them up as I went along.

There are more animations for the main character too. I drew him actually crouching for example, rather than just using photoshop to bend legs and knees like I did with Secrets.

Might I suggest a lighter shade of colour for their nose and chin outline? This colour is too dark and looks like you've drawn "over" the original nose with a pen, it's so darker.

Make that arm more round, it's too straight.

Also the outline of her chin has lines and not enough curves.

U.S IS targeting the civilians, there are more civilians dead than anything else, and they knew this was going to happen, so technically, they targeted them.

Yup, I remember seeing that footage of the US Jetplanes dropping bombs down on villages and the marketplace.

Care to show me a source of this information that shows more civilians have been killed by the US Army than the amount of Iraq military killed by US?

Yes, and you would pay $49.95+ for each one. :)

Not if they had the same exact graphics they wouldn't, as nobody would spend $49.95+ on something so old looking as a new release. All I'm saying is, it's silly of you/him to compare your game with classic LucasArts titles from years ago.

To the best of my knowledge Monkey Island 1, Monkey Island 2, Loom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were not talkies, and even today these are more expensive than Super Jazz Man.

Except they were made many years ago, and if they were made today they would have had speech.  ::)

Rough idea using the "paintover" suggested.

(Get rid of the blotchy grey bits on the text, I was being messy)

There's an online American friend of mine, who has a livejournal. I have previously read of how his German associates who he used to know in person decided to stop writing to him 'cos of USA invading (Or if you prefer, liberating) Iraq. What was stupid was that my friend was 100% OPPOSED to USA invading Iraq! But his German friends asked why he wasn't doing anything to stop it! He explained the freaking obvious to them, but they didn't want to know. Pathetic attitude, and a good example I feel, of what you guys are talking about.
