Your welcome.  :)

Phantasmagoria was going to come out on the Amiga. If it's bad, then I'd like to think the port-over chaps decided it wasn't worth porting a crummy game over to a dying market. (This was around 1999)

*Matt fails to get it*

I bet this is considered a background too! Well I don't see how the white on your normal image normally ISN'T a background, as it does exist, as a white background. Unless you printed it out and cut out the white. *scratches his head*

or why not cut out the surrounding bit when you print it out, ergo no outer bit at all. But then the rusty bits inbetween would look like background..

I give up.

Most amusing!

I think an AGS game has done the door-key poking puzzle as well. Can't remember exactly though.

In the end, I ejected the game from my PS2 before finishing it and banished it from entering my disc drive ever again. (Da Vinci Code)

During a CRITICAL scene where I had to run or die, my character decided to not move anywhere off the spot he was on, despite my frantic movement input. (It's not like I was caught on anything, the game put me in a corridor after a cutscene, where I couldn't move, see.)

Oh, and then the game put me waaaaaaaaaaaay back, so I couldn't be doing with it again, and there's no assurance it won't just kill me again. Grr.

I give the game: 42%

I'm thinking, ProgZ, that PS2 and Xbox can emulate if you go to the fuss of fixing them to do this, correct? Whereas I'm thinking the wii will emulate straight out of the box. Most people haven't been emulating on their PS2/Xbox. Heck, I wouldn't know where to begin! (Nor am I going to look into it)

EDIT: (With acceptance to PSone games, obviously.)

EXTREMELY rough edit:

Look what happens when I do this:

The writing is instantly visible, and you still haven't got a background... right? No? Ah crap. You see what I'm getting at though. How does it look with an outline for the font but still outer white?

I second that 'N' switching. I thought it looked funny!

Yeah the background..

White is a very passive colour, really. It's not aggressive at all.

The colours elsewhere work.

Aggression. It would make me think the writing would be IN YOUR FACE rather than it being almost discreet like it is right now.

The "font" if you will is nice and aggressive though!

Have you kindly asked the people that made the MMM games for some of the script? (Are these those AGS fan games?)

Also, because someone finds something un-entertaining and/or poorly done doesn't mean that they have to be able to do better to have this opinon.

Just look at Simon Cowell!

EDIT:

Having watched the same one as Scummbuddy, I pretty much agreed with him, although I laughed once, when Dr Fred was jumping on the mummy guy in the toilet, but then the joke went on too long.

Even weirder is that another response from fasdit to someone else was:

"Thanks for the review. That guy that was sad wasn't dr. Fred. It was his son Wierd Ed. In the game Maniac Mansion, Ed is kind of sad and depressed. And the fact that he has blue skin just seemed funny when put with the song.

And as to why the terrorists were in there. The mansion is rigged up with a nuclear reactor b/c Dr. Fred is to cheap to pay for regular electricity.
There are also some cooling rod thingies in the pool. The terrorists wer after this.

I can understand that some of these things would be a bit difficult to pick up on if you haven't played the game. I was almost going to cut the whole terrorist thing out, it really is confusing now that I think about it."

Strange, my music video was compressed from 600-ish MB to 11MB and it looked and sounded okay? So you should aim for that.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I was playing an adventure game, when I found myself locked in a cell. I found a sharp pointy object, and a sheet of carboard. I noticed the lock had a key sticking in it from the other side.

I killed myself.

Well no I easily solved the puzzle and groaned a lot.

The offending game was "Da Vinci Code". Don't look at me like that, my mate bought it and I borrowed it off him as he wasn't going to miss it!

So, you got a list of games that innovate here on AGS, but I want to name and shame the games that have had this most cliched of all of cliche puzzles! (Which game ORIGINALLY came up with that anyway?)

If you are going to do any microphone recordings then you need silence fans...

Or a good microphone that doesn't pick up background noises, like mine.  ;D

Just look at that dreadful Da Vinci Code Game. Tom Hanks' character BEATS PEOPLE UP IN THE MOST VIOLENT ATTACKS. (Same for the woman)

I've not seen the film, but I suspect Tom doesn't beat monks and coppers up in it.

Is it loud on speakers?

Maybe your headphones are too quiet and are lame? Are games and stuff loud, is it just quiet on winamp?

Have you tried some bog-standard headphones? What are they like?

Must ask questions to get answers to learn more about your situation.

:D Haha I've never had a bandwagon to be jumped onto before!

Overall I enjoyed watching it - I think I'd like the music too but the quality (Being compressed too much is what I mean) is so poor it's hard to tell! *Smacks Mark's computer* Stupid computer!

Yeah you eventually gonna put it somewhere like Youtube or.. erm.. wait I'll think of something.. Liveclip? (Or even myspace, yes...)

The effects were okay except when the screen goes bright (Which I liked very much BTW) the explosions looked even more fake, that I laughed a bit.

So this would be good when it's a decent quality (Compression wise). The video itself is cool, effective, and the lead singer looks like a younger Miles Hunt which is also cool.

Yes May 22nd was when the game was announced:

http://www.ubi.com/US/News/Info.aspx?nId=3957#

And there has been nothing on it since.

However going on this website while searching for a game of a show I've never even saw reminded me that the french bloke Benoit Sokal whatever (Don't tell me I'll only forget again) who did Syberia and Stilllife had released a game called "Paradise".

AGS Games in Production / Re: The Marionette

Your game has a feel to it that is more modern than the text implies. The font is that basic one that work's alright in lower resolution games, but looks blocky and ancient on a game like this!

Another thing. Does the game have visible hotspots? So you know your cursor is over something of interest? I often ask this question, but it really does affect the gameplay in a big way.

Let me rephrase Hammerite, as he is as blunt as his name suggests.

Y'know, a hammer.

I think what he means is that it's A)Obvious a quest of some kind will be involved and B)"Quest" is an overused and now cheesy title, and conjures up memories of old Sierra games.
#1820
I shall guess.

Plueerghhhh bleeuurg!

Erm..

Ple-uh-berg.

Or something.
