If not giving the man bread meant he fails to safe your life and you later have no choice but to die, then I'd think that was bad design. If by not giving him the bread it makes the game harder in some way because you don't get his help, then I'd think that was good design.

I have no idea what you are trying to insinuate, but you bumped my game back onto the first page so I'm happy.

EDIT: After some thought, I'm either being accused of copying a character, which is what i first thought, or it's a typo with the word 'cop' and they're having a laugh...?

I only actually played the second one for the first time earlier this year, and was pissed off by the cliffhanger, especially knowing I'd have to play the awful and horribly outdated 3D sequel to see the continuation- thankfully there's that AGS 2D version being made! So 4 will have to wait till I play 3 anyway.

Yes, it's 3D, but I think the backgrounds looked pre-rendered and fixed to me, but I'm not sure. So it might be like what MI4 did for MI or Broken Sword 3 did for BS. Oh dear I hope not. (Note: As already said elsewhere, I loved MI4, but it's not got anything on the 2D ones)

Ha what a crazy man! But I don't get the punchline.

Why is the first speech bubble not fully coloured in? Why does the mans eyes no longer have white in them in the fourth frame? Since when was "Surprise" two seperate words? (Mister whoops-I'm-gonna-run-out-of-room :P )

If the gameplay matches the quality of the graphics then it's gonna be a great game!

I think you should just ditch the photographs all together. To go from one hand drawn location to a photo breaks the feeling of being in the world and reinforces the idea you are playing a computer game. It's not consistent, and they don't look like they belong together.

Hell yes, remove the guybrush sprite and have a character that is consistent with the
other characters. Unless this is a comedy game, but I don't think it is. Everyone will see Guybrush and think "It's Guybrush!" They will never ever conclude it's someone else.

As for the black pixels, I believe they mean like the outlines of my characters in my signature. If you make them a darker colour of what's inside (Look at most sprites in AGS to see what I mean) it has a more eye-pleasing effect. I know I did it, but I was too far into the game to change it. Next time.

I shall presume you put this in the CRITIC'S LOUNGE as you want some criticsm.

Look at Guybrush. He can't be standing upright on a path at that angle.

The "skin on manhole" was pure genius. All that time I was figuring out how to get DOWN the manhole. Thanks.

Erm.. the second screenshot looks okay, but why does the first one use a photograph and the guybrush threepwood sprite? Sorry but that's just one weird mish-mash of different things!

What make you think you're now a valued forum member, though?
;)

Because Helm is always right.

Even when he is wrong.

Candle, it's actually in their signature but it got chopped off, if you look on their profile. Tell them how to make the picture a link to the website, I've forgotten how to do it!

Hope the characters look as nice as the backgrounds!

Zooty, either you have a brilliant memory, or you went fishing through Skyfire's history of posting in sheer determination like some scary stalker type person. Which is it?

But I agree Skyfire is unwise for pretending he is 26.

I agree with Mikko, and I'll also add that the lack of sleep may affect your ability to think properly, and as a result you won't be at your best.

I was going to say what Nostradamus said, that the graphics were ok back then, but they've aged with time. 3D ages far quicker than 2D.

I loved MI4. I didn't even think for a second "Hey! This is not a MI game! it's all wrong!" or anything like that. In fact I love all the Monkey Island games.

Look at the new broken sword game. I haven't heard anyone but me talk about it here, and it's not even in a lot of shops! I haven't even bought it myself, but that's a financial issue more than anything. And they've handled the 3D thing worse than MI4 if you ask me, in terms of controls. (Based on playing a demo) But the game is only about £17.99 on Amazon!

I also like the scroll bar, but I disagree about putting the news at the top. I once went on a website where the news comes up and I've no idea what the site is. I go on yours and it says "portfolio" so I know exactly what it is now!

The eyeball is cool, but it does kinda freak me out!

I ate a bad piece of sausage today...

The animal had it's revenge.

But anyways! my news would be that I asked the keyboardist of Jesus Jones if I could make a JJ myspace profile as they don't have one, and he thought it was a great idea, so I'm running it now! Yay!

Shut up.

ease of programing is very important for a console take the SEGA DREAMCAST,
it was superior to all consoles at the time, had the first ever built in multiplayer but it was killed by the difficulty coding for it resulting in rather poor third party support and a limited range of Home games,
it was downhill from there and SEGA was forced to leave the console industry for good after 15 years.
How does that expalin the pleathora of PS3 games in the making? I think difficulty of programming had little to do with it.

If is easy to program for, it wins FULL STOP.
Hey, AGS is relatively easy to program for, so why isn't it the most successful thing in the world ever? Hmm... there just be MORE factors included!

Everyone has failed to see the potential gameplay enhancements that come with next gen hardware. Look at Dynasty Warriors on PSone. It was a side on beat 'em up. PS2, it's a man against 1000 troops warground, something they couldn't ever have done on PS. Now imagine PS3 DW. Higher detail yes, but you should be able to see the troops in the distance instead of them just popping up in front of you! Heck, even more troops could attack you!

Or for a better example actually, the leap from PSone GTA to PS2 GTA.

Me again! Wooh!

I hear people exclaim Nintendo are being inventive and original, bringing out new ways of playing games, yes, innovations..

but the thought has occured to me that the company can't afford to keep up with the current technology so they are forced to come up with something else.

I would like to play all those zelda games though, and Harvest Moon was actually playable on the GameCube. (I spit on you PS2 lazy port!)
