Oh, okay!

It was the music. it was fine except the violin thing that kicked in when I went down the ladder. I thought the soundtrack had gone wrong to be honest. It was far louder than the rest of the music and you really need to lower the sound of it to blend it in with the rest of the music. I think it was a violin synth, I'm not sure, but it wasn't pleasing to the ears, to put it lightly.

See, you didn't want to hear that! I was rude!

Actually, I loaded up the new version and the game now has extra options. Before there was just the default mouse icons, and you could only talk, use and look. Now the cursor is better! (But I'd make a black outline around the words so you can see the cursor on bright parts of the screen)

Yes, now I can easily get out of the cell.

I got another crit, but I'm guessing deftonesrule doesn't want to hear it!

But I did! It indicated there was poo in there...

Maybe I'm supposed to click somewhere else on the toilet.. hmm I'll give that a try.

You don't need to show the item's names. you just have your cursor animate or glow/change colour when it hovers over a hotspot. That's what I had in the game I was making (and put on hold).

I was stuck for the same reasons as Cheeba. And I sense they, like me, are usually pretty good at this adventuring lark.

i was so stuck I put my hand down the toilet out of desperation!

If I come as across a big meanie i'm sorry.  :-[

Space balls the movie! I love that film.

By the way, it also to a smaller degree spoofed Alien and Star trek! (and maybe some other things)

Remember, when that bad guy gets beamed in by Snotty? Man that was freaking hilarious!

Also, Space balls stars the guy who plays Tuvok in Voyager who has a very small part "combing" the desert.

"But I'll give you 'adventure game' really doesn't neatly describe what the games are about at all."

Ah, then we have reached some kind of agreement! I just didn't want anyone buying resident evil or obscure thinking it would be a point and click game. Actually, I don't want anyone buying Obscure fullstop, unless it's as cheap as peanuts.

"a fps game where there's some undead and you have way the hell too few medicits/ammo to make it through all-guns blazing,  it's suddenly a 'fps with survival horror undertones'. I mean, ugh!"

In that case I'd call it just a horror FPS.

Sigh..

'first person shooter' is just a marketing term for games that copy Doom. Made to appeal to the demographic that needs clones of Doom. Because Doom was a successful franchise.

Oh wait, most of these genre labels are made up by marketing spods in the last ten years! I'd better just stick to using only the old terms and confuse people into thinking resident evil is going to be a game like beneath a steel sky by calling it an adventure game..  :P

Thanks, but that's 0.3, not 0.4, right?

Oh well, I played it anyway.

Yup, brightness is okay! My one and only critiscm is that I have to randomly click on everything because there is no other way of finding hotpsots.

So if there is a way of escaping the room I only could do one thing before getting stuck, then clicking on everything in the room and then ran out of patience. Sorry!

Everything else is peachy!

If I was to base resident evil solely on it's puzzles, then I'd say it was one of the worse puzzle games ever.

Nope, I won't budge on the genre labelling of resident evil. Also, try typing in "resident evil survival" and "resident evil adventure" into google and notice the results.

+ObsCure.
survival horror game in the vein of resident evil. Very average, but should be cheap. Not what I'd class as adventure!

+Alone in the Dark.

Isn't this a survival horror game too? Where resident evil got it's "inspiration" from?

-Evil Dead: Hail to the King.

Not adventure. But it is shit.

"You could check out the survival-horror games as well."
*cough*Ã,  :P 8)

Is that where you type in verbs and it responds with "I don't understand"?

I prefer multiple choice. Much simpler. Like this program:

http://www.madladdesigns.co.uk/MuCeS/index.htm

It lets you have one background picture for the game and one song to be looped. If anyone knows of a program like this that can have more songs and pictures let me know please!

Saviour machine sound like a cross between Il Divo and nightwish.

Cheesy!

Stargate? I like that but can't see the potential of it getting spoofed.

(Well I suppose you could have a symbiont argue woith the host...)

I don't mind star wars, but it bores me from time to time. (Not just the new ones either)

I have watched probably every single episode of star trek except the sixties series. Having said that, I don't consider myself a trekkie as I only own a few films and don't do anything else star trek wise.

I once spoofed star trek myself when I was younger. It was audio only and it was called "captain's log", so yeah I'd love to play a spoof game.

When I was first thinking of what adventure game to make I had an idea for a game I'd call "Odo's investigations", set when he can shape shift. But my graphic skills would never give it justice.

He said "best", ManicMatt. No need to mention Still Life. ;)

Hahaha. He also said "lesser known", otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it!
