Hmmm mostly when the dialogue options appear at the bottom of the screen.
Not EVERY time, but about 80% of the time. That's including when the dialog 'returns' to the options.

Can you help?

EDIT: It doesn't seem to do it whilst people are actually talking

*grabs Mordelles and Pablo by the ears*

Stop it! Both of you!  (And Mordy I laughed at your joke)

look! You're making that little girl over there cry! look at her big eyes welling up to see you two bickering. Don't argue! Think of the children!

If I start a dialogue with an NPC while there is music playing, the music jumps for a second.

Looking for answers via the search feature, I see that 2 people have had the same problem, and the only solution found was to degrade the game from 32 bit to 16 bit. However that makes my game look crap where gradients/lighting are used.

The only mentions of it were very brief anyway. Does anyone know of a way round the slowdown? It's not like  my PC is shit! It can play half life 2 with the high resolution skins, but not play some music properly? Is it to do with the engine?

I have had a rather kickass piece of art made starring me (Tom Baker, actually)...

AND...

Seriously, right?

Rosella: "Hi guys! The new King's Quest fan game is coming out soon! Is everyone as excited as I am? Let's hype it up!"

ManicMatt inserts a lighthearted picture of Doctor Who playing King's Quest and falling in the water, being a scene that has been spoken of fondly by others.

Rosella: "DAMN YOU ALL! BURN IN HELL, YOU UNCULTURED SWINE! YOUR MOTHERS SEW SOCKS THAT SMELLLLL!!!!!!!"

... and I'm the one getting flamed? Think again, cracker.

HAHAHA!!!! Thanks Esper, you make me laugh!

Hold it- kings quest isn't being made with AGS? I assumed it was....

played your game Esper, and left a comment!  :)

Looks fun! I hope there will be more NPC's in the game than these screenshots suggest!

A drunken adventure whilst driving a car? I wonder.  :-\

Oh yes, naturally the fire is animated!  8)

I just love the animations I've got for the homeless guy!

dude, read the first line of this thread:  8)

"I don't mean 'what were your favourite songs that were released in 2005'. I mean, what songs make you look back on that year, on the bad things and the good things."

Ok, here's my opinion on CGI and films and the like, take it or leave it.Ã,  So many people complain about CGI and unrealism and not enought CGI, too much CGI....

With me, and king kong and say spiderman, the CGI on the humans just looks stupid! They look like ragdolls! I audibly laughed whilst watching king kong when Kong shakes the woman around. This over-reliance on the CGI (Which is fine for Kong himself) ruins the immersion and reminds me I'm watching a film. (Akin to the old computer games where you'd go around collecting floppy disks and joysticks etc)

Okay, here is another attempt. (Until ProgZmax comes along and makes your character look like he-man ie. really good)

This is different to the last one.

Why am I helping? It's in my nature even if my help is no good!Ã,  :P

EDIT: GAH! Png but still so small! *Looks for answers in the forum

Sorry I don't know how to make it bigger, but right click on it and paste into the paint program of your choice. All I did was give him a better nose. (IMO)

Nice one Ashen!

If you still want to see the looping room in demo quest 3-1, the room in the editor is called Factorylooping

If you just mean a normal background loop when you reach the side, then the AGS demo game actually has that feature in one of the locations.

I have no examples, I just thought of it now...

Let me try again! (And I still don't even know if this would work)

You have your big background, yes? Place a main character in there who has no pixels or anything. make the whole area walkable via the settings. now wherever you click the mouse pointer to walk, your invisible character will go over to that spot and thus the screen will scroll if the character goes close to the edge. Make him walk real fast too. Now, if there is a script somewhere for getting the character to constantly follow the mouse pointer, it might hopefully give the impression that the player is just moving the screen movement.

Same here, I stopped after the bit about looking inside the drawers becasue this does sound intriging and I don't want it ruined either!

Esper makes a very good point. I like this guy and I just realised I haven't even played his game yet. I shall put aside making my own to play it right this second!

(And... having never played kings quest, I'm not exactly excited, and rarely did like the sierra adventure games, although I'd probably give the forthcoming game a punt anyway.)

Dunno if that previous thing just mentioned works, but I was thinking, what if you had a character that's on screen, but is invisible. (Not the hide character option, just an invisible one) and then is it possible to have the character follow wherever the mouse cursor goes? And make the entire location walkable? Would that work?

For me, 2005 was the year where I got a computer and went online, and ordered off Amazon loads of albums that I just couldn't get/order in the shops.  :D

And Mew's album. (My PC dvd drive went on the blink and I had Mew and Franz on my mp3 player for about a month.)
