Great stuff!

So has no one left their wallet/ID in their other trousers?

Looks nice! I agree with the others. Unless he's short and that's a joke that he struggles.

I would look at aliasing, the lines on the door and along under the panels would look softer with a single line either side that's half of each colour. so if its black, draw a 50% transparent black line either side of the solid black line.

This does entail longer times drawing backgrounds, so it's up to you, but id suggest at least backing it up and trying it to see how it looks.

The red flashing light isn't 3d like the buttons. I realise it needs to look bright, but it looks like its vertically upright, not lying on the surface.

Tzachs: Ha, at least it wasn't a voodoo lady!

ClickClickClick: Heh. But in what context? Clothes? Random household items?

CaptainD: It can! In which case I've said that too! I've also said "Yikes!".

A few years ago, I was running a video game store, and this kid came up to the counter. He'd learned a tongue twister and had likely gone around bedazzling people with his ability to say it quickly and clearly.

He said "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck?".

I smiled, and replied with equal speed and clarity. "A woodchuck wouldn't chuck wood if a woodchuck could chuck wood because a woodchuck doesn't chuck wood."

His face of amazement was priceless!

I love that of all the people he could have said that to, how many would have fired back with that reply?

Have you ever found yourself using an adventure game phrase or line without the context of that game?

Thanks all! Especially appreciate the art compliment, I don't get many of those!

I'm going with Frank Loretto! Very mobster sounding!

I don't think I've said, all my backgrounds are done, but I still need to draw more characters and objects. I've done those for the first 'chapter' if you like, so I'm now doing all the object and hotspot descriptions, and so on, to finish off that chapter before moving on. (Although still with no music or sound)

Clutching at straws here, but could there be any script ID names that are identical that cdavenport entered, which could confuse AGS?

I realise that doesn't explain Gilbert's game, however.

Afraid not. We have plug ins, for adding things to our own games, but not mods for gamers. Personally I wouldn't want people modding my games!

Thanks Chicky! Those magazines took hours to draw but was worth it!

I've updated a screenshot in the original post to show some action.

Here is a character that still needs a name!

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Would it also be useful perhaps if they game captured or even filmed what happens to show us?

Just to clarify also, what OS are you using?

that sounds like you're running the game twice?

Teehee, Bishi is thrilled! I saved that image! I noticed Limping Fish is there too!

It's not free, but Asesprite is fairly easy to get to grips with, and you can have layers and frames for animation, plus a little window showing your drawing zoomed out to see how your pixel tweaking is doing.

A crazy tree lady hug for you all:

Haha that's brilliant! Wish I'd joined in now, I've just been feeling a bit ignored on this forum for a while to be honest.

(Not in the beginner's help thread, folks been most helpful there!)

I had a quick go on it with a photo of me, and it looked like something I could do in my video editing tools anyway. It's either too detailed or not enough detail! By hand it is then.

Thanks Retro Wolf, I'm going to try out that pixelator program. I'm not going to use it for my game as it is commercial and then would require me to spend actual money, but it gives me an idea for a music video! (Kinda like this interesting sounding Paint of Persia thing but quicker, eh!)

Engine : AGS indeedy.
Storyboarding (if any): i used paint to draw out my rough ideas of rooms and typed out my puzzles under each room.
Paint Backgrounds: Asesprite.
Make Sprites: Asesprite.
Make Animations: Asesprite.
Sound Effects: Either royalty free ones or I'll try and record it myself if possible. I might also use Audacity to tweak things.
Music: Logic Pro X. The only thing I use my mac for in developing my game.

Who actually made you moderator here, Gunnar? Cannot see why you should be in charge. Also when did we vote here for you (or any moderator at all)? All I know is that Peder who is actually paying all the bills since years allows you to be here.

And this is why you would never be given moderator privileges.

Only one thing: Snarky, hereby I give you my second warning, and this will be my last.

I'm sure he's trembling in his boots. Well, I'm giving you my second warning, and this will be my first.

Could you have told it to play music in the global script?

And again, if you could copy and paste any of your code, like in one of the dialogs that randomly plays music, it would certainly go a long way in identifying the problem.
#320
I think it will help people to work out your problem if they can see your code, and how it is used to play background music, and where this code is, for instance - after fade in.

The song that plays over the other music, is it the same file being played or a different song?
