General Discussion / Aged graphics
Fri 16/12/2005 22:07:20
Yesterday my brother visited me, and when I showed him my games collection, he told me he too has Simon the sorceror 2, but it won't work properly.

Apparently it's all glitched - messed up colours, big pixels, just all round bodged up. He'd tried emulators, changing the resolution, all sorts. (The game cost him 99p)

So I loaded my copy up on my PC and he said "It doesn't work for you either?"

I informed him that this IS what the game is supposed to look like.

I guess he's never experienced the whole aging graphics issue before!

LeChuck?? Nah, wrong colour.

I think whoever it is, scares Grim Fandango and the dog from sam n max has noticed them too. (I aint played sam n max yet okay?)

"axioms" Now there's a word I've never heard anyone say before.

Oh yeah, OBVIOUSLY.  :P

It's not that bad! It's kinda quaint.

I could probably guess as to why you didn't like it.. but tell me anyway!

Lost Paradise? Does that have the first metal goth band going on adventures singing about doom and gloom? Oh wait, that's paradise lost! (PS - I like being silly on purpose)

Ha ha yeah that robot puzzle pissed me off! I'm guessing you are stuck on the moving it past the dangers section? I'm afraid I had it on the x-box, not the PC. There is a logical way of doing it, getting into the right spaces and moving at the exact right time. But it DID take me ages and I nearly gave up. It's only my sheer persistance that got me through I guess.

Wouldn't it look a bit crap if they were just pointing in any direction?

Also, this technology presented here far surpases any knowledge we currently have, so there!

Looks promosing! The talk icon looks out of place compared to the other mouse icons. I suspect you didn't draw that?

Also, I hope you will have a  functioning status bar or animated cursors when hovered over a hotspot.

Keep up da good work!

Esper: PLEASE tell me how to pronounce cthlul or whatever!

LJUBI: Nice to know someone else played the syberia games! Have you played Still Life?

Nobody minds if I set that as a wallpaper on my computer?

I can't help but feel that maybe your monitor's brightness is turned up higher than average? It's a tad too dark for me too, even in the new edit.

An alien sure has got me intrigued about the story..  :)

Woohoo I influenced another game! Yay me!

Yeah, there is more to see now, thus more hotspots perhaps?

As for artistic ability, better wait for the others to comment. I'm fine with it myself. :)

Thief 3:

I spent the whole level creeping around s-l-o-w-l-y before realising there is NO ONE HERE!

Nik likes my music. He is therefore DA MAN.

I'm from England and I support the death penalty.

Has the issue been raised on the problem we had/are having over here with overcrowded prisons? I recall a few years ago of how a judge pretty much let someone free just because there was no room for them in prison! Killing the more dangerous scum in prison would give more space, though. Else we could just build more prisons and have a prison on every street.

Umm.. it has a bigger population?

Excuse me, but... what is 'porn'? Is it somewhere to sell things hm?  ;)

While I admit he did sound rather rude using the 'f' word, I sense that the "donny" bit is some kind of film reference or something, and therefore used playfully.

"He saved potentially 1000s of young black men from getting his fate which in turn saved the people those black men would have killed if they joined a gang, to prove themselves."

Prove it.
