Well, I think it varies on how you get paid. You're thinking of paid contracts for music.

I was thinking of music record companies. When you get signed they loan you the money to get your record out there etc, and then you cover your loan via how many albums/singles/concerts tickets you sell. If you get any change left over, it's yours. This may vary perhaps between labels?

EA are also responsible for 5 billion dreadful film licensed games. *shudders*

Critics' Lounge / Gradient or no gradient?

Which version looks better? Should I continue making backdrops with gradient filler or go back and change my backgrounds to having no gradient?

With gradient:

Without gradient:

EDIT: Okay now the above shows the shadows! I decided to keep my bin, Zor, but if I make anymore things that shape I'll keep it in mind. I like my dodgy bin.

Press the escape key. Guess the german option that says quit! (I think it was "Ende".)

Erm... how DID you quit?

I feel the same way Esper, except for the dying words part.

Folks, if you like violin stuff, Nikolas' piece is very tense! I want to steal it and put it in my game! Except:

1) It's not mine

and

2) It wouldn't go with the synth music in my game. Shucks.

40 quid? If you paid forty pounds on a game you'd have been ripped off!

I only support the idea of downloading games when it's considered abandonware.

Also, I tend to trade old games in for new ones. So I rarely pay the full price of around 30 pounds.

I know that some people are loosing money with piracy but actually they are not the aritsts involved (they do get very little royalties, if any). If it is Vivendi, the company trhat loses money, well even better!

I disagree with your thinking, Nikolas. So if you ever got signed on a record label, and your album is in the shops, I'll just go download it illegally shall I, because it's the label that will get most of the royalties? And what have you got against vivendi mate? Why not EA? I hate those guys!

While I loved the apprentice games and enjoyed the music, I rarely listen to instrumental music outside games/films, so it wouldn't interest me.

So don't take it personally. Even when I hear monkey island music it gives me a thrill, but I still wouldn't buy a soundtrack of it!

It's in english! Thanking you.

Okay okay! While I'm being silly everywhere else, these boots are my serious attempt at helping. Although they need to be bigger.

Farlander: But his name is Mats, not Matts!

HAHAHA these images should be put on the credits screen at the end of the game!

Eh? I've downloaded it from here twice:

"It's done. The english version is ready for download. BIG thanxs to teleklafter alias Notion Grinder. He has done a great job and transfered the style of the game very good.

If there is someone who didnt understood the game, now you will. Everybody who has not already played! Thats your chance

But it's the german version and there is only the default language available in the ags set up.

Yeah those characters look cool!

The main character (Was sephiroth an influence?) sports a dashing shirt.

WOW!! I wish I could paint like that!

Sorry but I have to agree with the majority here, the lens flare isn't working.

It's looks like it's from a 3D game or something. it's a fine lens flare, for a lens flare, but it's not suited to the game.

Personally I'd like lens flares to be gone from all games! It's only something seen in a camera, and it reinforces the idea that we looking through a camera, and ruins the immersion. (Another example is in GTA Vice city, when the rain slid down the camera. It was unsurprisingly took out in the sequel)

As much as I want other's to enjoy my music, it is not considered during the making process. I write what I like. I swear in a song when I feel it is necessary. When it is finished, I look back and go "Wow! Did I make this?" If I don't feel that way about it, then I have wasted my time.

With a cartoon I once made, it was always considered for the readers in the place where I worked at. They would drop what they were doing when they spot a new cartoon postered on the door, and have a laugh. This made me feel good!

I too, get the best ideas when I'm not forcing it on myself to think of something.

Who are the Robocop Kraus?

Here is a link to one of their songs (it will go straight to the song)

Think Franz Ferdinand with electro bleeps and crazyness!

I feel like an idiot.

I am in fact, using an A6 tablet.

What I meant to say, was the stupid A7 tablet!

Sorry. (Sincere)
#3300
You do? SORRY!! (Sarcastic)

You can make things precise with something so small?

It's just when I saw the A6 one in PCWorld looking so tiny and costing MORE than my A5 one I thought it was stupid!

No, I have not tried it. Have you tried a bigger one?

In hindsight, I wouldn't really want one that big, I'm happy with A6, and a 21inch wouldn't fit on my desk.
