I shall do the diary entry thing. I haven't been on the AGS forums for at least two years, and I was absent for a long time before that. Today I decided that, as I have begun work on a new adventure game, something I swore I would never do again due to the massive undertaking of said task, that I should return to the forums. And what better engine than trusty ol' AGS.

I started drawing my first background today, to get a feel for my new graphical style. I drew some concrete slabs.

For your consideration, Limbo the adventure game!

Consider this for:

-Funny dialogue
-Best toilet scene
-One "actor" voicing everyone
-Best flying turd scene
-Most un-secret secret Agent

In properties from "file commander" that browses files on my phone, the file is stated to be SD Card/AGS/Limbo but nothing! I don't know why it would be emulated?? But that didn't work anyway.

I can't get it to find my game! Im using sony xperia M4 and i try the directory SD Card/AGS/ and various other ways and it doesnt find it. I had this running the game on my samsung.. Arghhh!

Hm, hm, could we go go the mastermind mind approach and replace individual words to see see what affects points and what not not?

It's true, I just stumbled upon it on steam one day.

As for diverging or not from the plan, I think thats not a bad thing. If I tried to stick to a longer game, I might have wanted another break and the game STILL wouldnt be finished now. Art of course, should never be rushed, which is why even though the game was shortened, i didnt want it to come across as rushed, using little or no new assets (sprites, animation, backgrounds etc) then the player might feel cheated. So this tells me the ending needs to be just as epic as the start!

Yeah i guess i sort of lost where I was going with that! I still would have liked a final gameplay section, but i have lovely satisfying animations that kick ass, and hopefully feels rewarding to the player to see.

I guess ive made two games to be somewhat semi qualified to give my two pieces o' eight!

Limbo has a different final scene than planned. There was going to be a playable limbo area with the bad guy unaware of your presence, and you would solve puzzles to defeat him. But the game was way overdue and i just wanted it finished before it got abandoned a second time. So instead you merely have a chat with the bad guy and then when you say bye a cutscene plays of the victory. (trying not to give spoilers)

The internet is here to tell you that you are not original. Its very frustrating, I will come up with an idea, and find someone not only did it already, but better than I could with my limited resources, too. Screw you internet.
