You remembered that, ha!

Well despite how much I talk about my job, it just so happens I don't live there permenantly, and thus heard this radio excerpt at home.

1. Monkey Island series
I can't name just one of them in preference! The humour is the best element of these games.
2. Day of the tentacle
Was too short, but so much fun! Plus I love time travel.
3. Sam n Max season 1
Mucking around and not solving puzzles is part of the fun!

While I'm proud to work for GameWorld, I'm in a forum about games so they kind of come hand in hand, and I only used Game in this example purely for the joke that the guy would guess a different type of game! So there.

Coming soon! Another 100 posts by me mentioning my job!

I had no idea it annoyed anyone..  :P

Last month, there was a radio interview between Hardeep Singh Kohli and Les Ross:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/mediamonkeyblog/2008/sep/23/radio
I listened to it, and it was painful yet funny at the same time! Like an Alan Partridge homage, as the article says.

Listen to that if it interests you, then read this: (Which I sent to Hardeep himself as a piss-take of Ross)

If the BBC fired him, he can always go for an interview at.. Game. Yes, Game, the videogame shop. And here is how the interview would go:

MANAGER: "So, Mr Ross? Nice to meet you."
ROSS: "Is that a French accent? So are you British-French or French-British? Because it's very important to know these days!"
MANAGER: "Eh? I'm canadian if you must know. But I don't see how that is relevant."
ROSS: "Hehe! I agree with you!"
MANAGER: "... So anyway, what interests you in working for Game?"
ROSS: "Well now, Dominoes! What a classic board game!"
MANAGER: "Errr.. we sell computer and videogames, not board games."
ROSS: "Oh, well I'm British, so I'm an idiot and don't research anything!"
RANDOM BRITISH PERSON: "Hey! I resent that implication!"
ROSS: "HAHA!!! THIS IS GREAT FUN!!!"
MANAGER: "Mr Ross!! You're not here to have fun! If you cannot say anything intelligent, then please leave the-
ROSS: "BYE!!!"
MANAGER: "Idiot."

Haha! If I was really concerned about having a high gamerscore I'd borrow all the preowned games in my shop and play em all for an hour each for some easy points.

I nearly borrowed Hellboy, Brothers in arms Hells highway, Too Human, Star Wars force unleashed, and some others but I'm playing So Blonde and Yakuza 2 on ps2 at the moment!

(Criminally ignored game in the vein of Shenmue)

That's how long it took to come out in the UK. Today is it's official release day. I'd been trying to order it from my suppliers for weeks! (In my shop)

Ah, I see. Well I haven't played it long enough to comment on the story yet..

Finally, the game So Blonde has been released!

The story was written by Steve Ince (Broken Sword)

I've been playing it for an hour, and it's great! Quick loading times *Shakes fist at Jack Keane* and highly polished, it's nice to be able to play an adventure game that feels like it's been made my pros and not amateurs *Stares at Ankh*. It's simply a joy to play.  :)

Has anyone else here bought it yet?

And that ergonomic mouse looks suspiciously like a joystick. ;)

Sadly that's how it died, certain heavy handed people kept trying to move the stick like a joystick, but it doesn't move. So it was broken in two. Grr.

Yes your chair looks like it is from the set of Enterprise!

Here's my workspace in Dec 2006:

And how it is now:

Further back angle showing off my guitars:

Yes, that is a peg holding the dodgy Amp's headphone adaptor that's plugged in.

The office chair: (non-leather)

Is that a Robocop Kraus poster? Awesome band.

Oh okay well whatever, just seems a lot like this:

But it was cool anyway..  :)

Ah cool, this was actually done before, sorry to burst your bubble..

But my desktop has changed quite a bit since then anyway so I'll put a new photo up on this here thread soon. Ish.

Not yet, the owner of the GameWorld company has told me the "To Let" sign thats been hanging like a grim reaper over my shop for way longer than I've even worked there will finally be removed as the shop is no longer for sale as it's actually making a profit now. Hooray! (And this will look good on my C.V if I ever need to update it)
#916
Haha, I'll have to try that!  ;D

Interesting, I know an estonian guy and he looks into people's eyes a lot when talking. Yeah either he's adapted to living in the UK or he doesn't consider it aggressive.
#918
And if you are insane? Then what? You going to declare yourself insane and lock yourself up, or just get on with life and shrug it off? Or erm.. yeah...

Hey bud, good too see you again!

NEVER LEAVE US AGAIN!!  >:(

Nah just kidding.

General Discussion / Re: Game editors

Oh, maybe that was an older RPG maker? I figured it had never been released in the uk because it needed the hard drive. I guess not then.

Yes it looks a bit crude, but I just love the idea of creating a world with my own story in it without having to learn much, and having 3D characters already made for me.

It probably is rubbish, but when you can't have something, it makes you want it more!

Case in point:

60gb ps2 backward compatible PS3s in the uk.  Majority of people said "Too dear, forget it!"

Sony then deleted it, and brought out a cheaper 40gb ps3 that didnt have ps2 backwards compatibility. Majority of people starting buying the 60gb ps3s off ebay for more than they were new in the first place.

And even then, it was a crap emulator for ps2, unlike in America.
