My first ever paintover, so hopefully it will actually be helpful ^_^:

there are a lot of changes, just to give some ideas (I like some of the things the way you did it better ^_^), and I didn't really spend time on making the shading consistent.

Major changes:
1) slimmed down face, brought down eyes, lengthened neck (one pixel)
2) a general slimming down of the body, arms, and legs
3) flipped legs, so hand is is on weight-bearing hip
4) lengthened legs slightly (2 pixels), and made them a bit more curvy
5) notice the difference in the shading of her breasts.Ã,  Putting shading only below them makes them look saggy (IMO), and shirts tend not to hug each breast individually.Ã,  Putting the stretch and the shadow from the peak (like in the paintover) helps make her look slightly more realistic, while still remaining busty.Ã,  Why am I spending so much time explaining the boobs?Ã,  I think it's a common tendency to put the shadows only below, and I don't think breasts really look that way.Ã,  A "naughty nurse" should have well-rendered boobs, right? ^_^
6) trimmed down shoulder span
7) raised breasts by one pixel

I hope this helps you ^_^

I'll join in on the reserving-a-spot craze, and claim this spot as my own ^_^

EDIT: I probably will not be able to make one this jam after all :(... curse exams!

EDIT#2: Since I already made this post, I'll use my little space here to compliment everyone on their excellent sprites!

Your old BG is good :).  While the angles are not strictly "correct", they are close enough that I wouldn't worry about it, and the BG looks perfectly functional.  I probably wouldn't have even noticed the angles if you hadn't asked ^_^

One thing I WOULD change, though, is the angle of the desk.  Like dkh said, the desk is noticeably off compared to everything else.

Congrats Krysis!  I loved both of those sprites ^_^

Stefano, I hope everything will be okay and you will soon be able to join in the forums once more.  I send my well wishes...

It will be a hard choice, this is one of the best sprite jams ever!

Maybe Stefano has cracked under the pressure?  ;)
Seriously, I'm glad it's not me choosing... I had a hard enough time last jam, and I think this one has even better entries ^_^

Okay, I think the time has come for an advisory to be put in the title.  Not because I think seeing lo-res nudes is traumatizing, but as a fair warning to those who might not want to see it...
#568
Haha, this looks familiar! ;)  Thanks for the entry ^_^

C'mon people, let's see some more!

Interesting topic... I might join in, since I haven't written anything creative in quite a while ^_^

I think this is shaping up quite nicely ^_^. Ã, I like how there's an odd couple feeling in this room (one half's messy, the other neat). Ã,

A few things:
-what kind of room is it? Ã, At first glance I thought it was supposed to be some sort of prison cell, but then I saw the TV (? Ã, I think it's a TV) on the floor. Ã, If it's intended to be a more comfortable kind of room, maybe add some home-y details, and if it's a prison, maybe take out the widescreen TV ^_^. Ã, If it's supposed to be between the two extremes, like military quarters, I would take out the TV and add small personal items, like photos, or a poster. Ã, It depends on what you're going for.
-those grey blocks next to the beds--what are they? Ã, I'm finding it difficult to determine the shape of them because the lighting seems inconsistent, and the downward slope seems a bit strange to me. Ã, Additionally, the one on the left is much closer to the wall than the one on the right, which is okay in itself, but this room seems to be going for a symmetrical look
-the chair is too small in comparison to the beds. Ã, (and why is there only one chair if there are two people living there? Ã, ^_~)

Good work so far, keep at it! ^_^

EDIT: was it supposed to be a desk?  If so, then many of my points can be ignored ^_^

Another cute sprite ^_^.  However, I think the positioning of his hands and toes (outward) makes him look too feminine... I think it's a feminine stereotype to walk with one's with feet daintily pointed outward (at least it was in Jane Austen, I believe ;)), and I think it would look better if they were more forward-facing.  The hands going straight down might help too.  I'm not familiar with this character though, so maybe you want him to be slightly girly?

(Yes, I should stop nitpicking on people's spelling, but this one bothers me.)
I actually bought the wrong game because of that homonym!  I had (literally) heard that a game named Syberia was a good adventure game, so when I encountered a used copy of Cyberia (just in a jewel case, so I couldn't see the date or what the game was about) I bought it... it was only $5 Canadian though, so it wasn't a costly mistake ^_^

In any case, while Syberia had a nice atmosphere, I agree it wasn't a particularly good game.

I'm not sure if this would be considered a hijack of this thread (I hope it's not ^_^), but I have a somewhat related question so I figured I'd plunk it down here...

Until I read this thread, I didn't realize that frames were generally frowned upon (I'm not a particularly internet-savvy person)... so I googled it, and now understand why this is.Ã,  My website uses frames, and I'm wondering whether it is worth it to change it to be frame-free, considering that:
1) I don't think there is anything on my website that would make it appear high on search engine lists
2) viewers would not be printing anything from my site
3) my website gets very little traffic in the first place :P

I am only concerned about whether users will be able to view my site properly.Ã,  I know some browsers are not frames-compatible, but is this a significant number?Ã,  Is there anything else about frames that would result in people having problems navigating the site that I may not be aware of?

Thanks ^_^

Watch out for grammar and typos:
1) for the opening screen, I think it would look better like this (there's nothing wrong with it, but I just find it strange to see the second line start with a &):
Jonathon Crest
&
The Ring of Untold Power
(note the capitalization)
2) use commas: Wow this looks cool, what is it? (you might want to put a comma after wow as well)
Check out the seal, man...
3) forgotten apostrophe: That's really

Overall, just proofread carefully.  I look forward to seeing the story in the production thread ^_^

About the little trophies, I like Darth Mandarb's idea of making a compo, and the "X2", "X3", "X4" idea Mordalles had... but maybe in the hall of fame. I am against prohibiting them in the signature, but I am almost sure most of us are going to see how silly having a signature full of trophies would be after having 3 or 4 looks...
I like that idea too, but how would it work?Ã,  Would there be a long list of every member who has won, and little trophies next to their name?Ã,  I think that would be fine, as long as it doesn't add too much of a hassle for the mods...Ã,
However, if the trophies are changed to standard smaller ones (with 2x etc.), I don't think it would be too much of a problem to leave them in the signatures, because they won't be any more intrusive than what's in there now ^_^

EDIT: Hold on, if the names were listed like I said, it would be pretty much exactly what's already in the HoF... *lol* I'll just shut up now ^_^

This background is definitely improving! ^_^
I think I prefer the moon without the cloud, though... the cloud seems a bit out of place style-wise.

I prefer the lighter hair too ^_^

a) no punishment necessary.Ã,  Everyone knows he cheated, so there's no real point
b) I agree that making trophies is not mandatory (and definitely should NOT be), but I think people will feel obligated to do it anyway, especially if it becomes a tradition.Ã,  Having said that, I like the trophies and hope they stick around (but only if the host wants to make them for fun ^_^)

EDIT: reworded to make myself more clear ^_^

It's the first time I see a rip-off sprite apear on a sprite jam. Maybe we should think this trophy thing over. We had less entries the way it was, but every single participant was actualy willig to enter and loosing, just to have a little fun.
I have expressed reservations about the trophies in another thread, but simply because I was worried that participation might drop if trophies were no longer offered--I didn't think they would result in copied sprites :(

Another concern I had was if some people might not enter sprites because they would not have time to make trophies for the next week.

Trophies are a nice bonus, and I personally like them, but if it takes away from the fun of sprite jams, I say we drop 'em.

BTW- making an accusation in a first post is definitely NOT bad if you've got evidence to back it up.  I get really ticked when people take credit for other people's work, not to mention, submitting copies wastes the other participants' time (what if it had won?).  So yes, Airgo, thanks ^_^

 >:( >:( >:(

Now that's just sad.
Was your previous sprite in the sprite jam a fake too?Ã,  I gave you the benefit of the doubt on the terrible colour quality... now I feel like an idiotÃ,  >:(

EDIT: to justify my post, here's my alternate (unfinished) gold trophy I didn't use because it was too big: ... sorry Stefano, you almost got a nekkid mermaid, but you'll have to make do with the dolphin ^_^
